Benghazi: Despite Pentagon claims Colonel Bristol has not retired yet
Back on July 5th of this year America’s Watchtower published a post entitled ‘Benghazi: Where is Col. George Bristol?’ I was not alone in asking this question, in fact this was the question being asked by some Republicans who wanted him to testify on the Benghazi terrorist attack.
The official answer Congressional Republicans who are investigating the Benghazi scandal got from the Pentagon was that he had retired and because of this he could not be compelled to testify in front of the Congress.
There is one small problem with this, it turns out not be be quite true. While, yes, he is retiring, no, he has not yet retired. He is still on active duty and will remain so until the end of July.
This was a blatant attempt by the Pentagon to deceive those who are investigating this scandal, as well as an attempt to delay the inquiries until after Colonel Bristol was actually retired, at which point he could not be compelled to testify, and they were caught red-handed. With roughly only two weeks to go before Colonel Bristol is retired it almost worked, it is time for the Republicans to call an emergency hearing and drag him in to testify before it is too late.

What have these hearings accomplished? Obama’s recess appointments have been determined to be unconstitutional, but nothing has happened has it? Those people are still in their appointed positions aren’t they? Am I being too impatient and naive to think that these unconstitutional appointments should NOT be serving in their appointed capacities until this is resolved? What good are these hearings if nothing is done?

I agree Laura and it is frustrating as hell! Three courts have ruled these nominees to be invalid and SCOTUS is taking it up in the next session, it seems to me as if they should not be allowed to work until after the Supreme Court decision, it at all.

McCain caved to Lord Reid and the illegal appointments are now legal.
“It seems that before the ink was dry on the GOP caving in, Barack Obama had selected his NLRB replacement nominees. According to Politico, they are AFL-CIO associate general counsel Nancy Schiffer and Kent Hirozawa, chief counsel to NLRB Chairman Mark Pearce”

Why am I not surprised McCain would do this, why are none of the other Republicans standing up and putting him in his place?

Because the Senate is a Club of Elites (nouveau riche). Everybody goes along to get along. After one term they should be voted out. McCain is just a useful idiot who should have been voted out.

Well, let me just ask all of you, “what did you expect”? We know this is how the game is played…put up a bit of a fuss, but then finally caving in and letting the appointee slide thru. We knew they would be appointed, but there had to be that “show”, so we could see that they are really working. You know afterwards they all go out for drinks and a meal and laugh at US(present company exempt), the stupid people that put them in office and continue to keep them there, term after term.

Yeah, nothing surprising here at all. You are right, they are all laughing at us for thinking anything would be different in the end.
