John McCain hires Syrian rebel activist Elizabeth O’Bagy

September 27, 2013

Are you familiar with the name Elizabeth O’Bagy? Readers of America’s Watchtower probably are, but if you are not familiar with the name you should be so here is the back story:

Elizabeth O’Bagy worked for a conservative think tank called the Institute for the Study of War. She has been a vocal supporter for Barack Obama’s plan to bomb Syria in support of the al-Qaeda rebels and she wrote an op-ed piece for the Wall Street Journal which several politicians–including John McCain and John Kerry–used as justification for war with Syria. She was fired by the  Institute for the Study of War because, we were told, she lied on her resume about her credentials.

It turned out that she was not fired because she lied on her resume because the think tank knew she was not the PhD. she claimed to be when she was hired in the first place. She was actually fired because while advocating for the Syrian rebels it was discovered that she was being paid by the rebels for her propaganda while drawing a salary from the State Department:

The termination came after a series of articles in The Daily Caller revealed O’Bagy’s connection with a pro-rebel lobbying group that was not disclosed in a Wall Street Journal op-ed by O’Bagy.

But in addition to her work for the Institute for the Study of War, O’Bagy is also the political director for the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), a group that advocates within the United States for Syria’s rebels — a fact that the Journal did not disclose in O’Bagy’s piece.

In an interview with The Daily Caller, O’Bagy said that despite her title as the group’s political director, she is paid as a contractor.

She insisted that she is not involved in the political lobbying that SETF does.

She defended this by claiming that while she is the political director on paper she really has nothing to do with political lobbying. Yeah, right…..

With the back story behind us let us fast forward to the news of the day.

It was announced today that John McCain has hired the now discredited Elizabeth O’Bagy as a legislative assistant in his office claiming the following:

“Elizabeth is a talented researcher, and I have been very impressed by her knowledge and analysis in multiple briefings over the last year.”

Seemingly blinded with his desire to bomb Syria, John McCain is willing to ignore Elizabeth O’Bagy’s conflict of interest, as well as her false credentials, because she will help him to promote his goal of helping al-Qaeda in Syria.

So why is John McCain so desirous of helping the rebels in Syria when it turns out they are a faction of the very same group who attacked the United States on September 11th 2001 and September 11th 2012?

It just might have something to do with the fact that he is the member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, which voted to back Barack Obama’s plan to bomb Syria, who received the most money from defense contractors.

John McCain is willing to ignore Elizabeth O’Bagy’s conflict of interest and her lies because he stands to gain from them. He is putting his own personal prosperity ahead of the interests of the nation and for this he should be removed from office.

Gawd I hope Arizona gets rid of him the next chance they get. He couldn’t be worse if he was a Democrat.

There was a solid conservative in the primary against him the least time but the establishment rallied around him. I hear he may be retiring and all I can say is that it is about time.

And we are paying her salary. Would though it were that I was an investigator with the resources I would go to the ends of the earth to dig until I found what this poor excuse of a prisoner of war is up to and who is the puppet master pulling his strings and paying him off. Napolitano, McCain, the stench from Arizona is abominable.

He has the defense contractor money and I do not doubt the Saudi’s are behind allot of this. Didn’t the September 11th terrorists come from Saudi? And yet that country has gotten a pass, something is going on here behind the scenes.

Unfortunately the taxpaying non-government class is in the minority. The people who get government welfare ( food stamps, unemployment, social security, gov employees) are in the majority and will continue to vote for this elitist because they are dependent on the free stuff. They have no skin in the game and they think we owe them a living wage.

McCain is lining his pockets with gold plundered from the taxpayers. Greed is rampant in the US and no one cares.Fraud and waste are everywhere. Unfortunately there are no unaffected areas left in the US or outside of the US to go to. It may seem easy to go to Canada or Australia and start over but these places have problems also.

Romney was right when he made that comment and that comment is what cost him the election in my opinion. The whole system has been corrupted and the ruling class knows there is really nothing we can do about it because they are able to manipulate the people through the MSM to get the candidates they want.
