Lois Lerner shared the confidential information of Tea Party groups with the FEC

  As more information slowly makes it into the public arena we are learning why it was that Lois Lerner took the fifth when she was set to testify under oath in front of the Congress about the IRS scandal. The government cannot force a person to act as a witness against oneself and if this story is true she might have been doing just that for this new revelation is a clear cut violation of federal law.

  Lois Lerner provided the Federal Election Commission personal and confidential information about several Tea party groups.

The Internal Revenue Service shared highly confidential tax information of several Tea Party groups in the IRS scandal with the Federal Election Commission, a clear violation of federal law, according to newly obtained emails.

The public watchdog group Judicial Watch told Secrets Thursday that it was former scandal boss Lois Lerner who shared the information on groups including the American Future Fund and the American Issues Project.

The emails obtained by Judicial Watch show that the IRS, which was considering the tax status of the groups, gave the FEC the tax returns of the groups, including income, expenditures and staff pay. The emails also revealed the exact working of the prying political questions the IRS wanted the groups to reveal, such as their goals and the requests for brochures and ads.

  And of course the FEC is not without blame here for they requested the information. It is clear that these are now basically two rogue agencies which feel they are above the law and can do whatever they want to in order to stifle political opposition.

  If this news is true Lois Lerner’s resignation in disgrace is no longer enough, it is time for criminal charges. And at this point we would do well to remember that Lois Lerner was caught on tape in 2010 admitting that she was feeling pressure from someone above her to do something about what the left considers to be a bad Supreme Court decision–Citizens United.
