Democrat claims we need to pass amnesty to make Obamacare work

November 16, 2013

It cannot be debated that the Obamacare roll out is anything but a miserable failure, but Colorado Democrat Representative Jared Polis has an interesting theory as to why Obamacare  is failing. He claims that we need to pass immigration reform with amnesty in order to make Obamacare work. Talk about conflating two issues near and dear to the Democrats’ hearts in an attempt to gains support for amnesty!

His theory goes like this:

American citizens are essentially being forced to pay for the health care costs of people who are here illegally every day, until we pass comprehensive immigration reform,” he said. “We’re wondering why rates are going up. … It’s no surprise. When somebody doesn’t have insurance, their costs are shifted onto other people that do

He does have a point but his solution is wrong. Illegal immigrants are using the emergency rooms for their healthcare and the taxpayers have to pick up the tab. However the solution is not giving these illegal immigrants legal status for what makes him believe the majority of these people will sign up for Obamacare when they can continue to use the emergency room knowing the worse thing that can happen to them is they will have to pay a small fine if they do indeed become taxpayers? We will still be footing the bill for the majority of the newly legalized immigrants, the answer would be to deport the illegal aliens when they are caught.

In order for Obamacare to work young, healthy people need to be overcharged for their healthcare coverage in order to subsidize the sick people who are signing up for Obamacare, and that is why insurance companies are being forced to provide coverage these people will never need, but there are two things working against this scheme. One; too many young people don’t think about healthcare and are probably unaware they are required to purchase it, and two: parents are allowed to keep their children on their family plans until they are 26 so what young person is going to sign up for coverage when they are already covered on their parents’ plan?

Because the young, healthy people have better things to do than spending several hours on a website which does not work trying to sign up for coverage they do not need and do not want the Democrats need to look for new revenue streams in order to salvage Obamacare and this provides them with a convenient excuse to push yet another unpopular piece of legislation on the American people.

Of course cynics, such as myself, think this was part of the plan all along.

If Amnesty passes it will LITERALLY be Te end of our country no matter what..the only way out at that point will be divorce. Violent or otherwise and to think Washington would let the country split up without a fight is naive. Obamacare was a deep wound. Amnesty is the kill shot.

Thanks and you are right about amnesty, if this passes the country as we know it is gone forever.

…makes sense, bring in 10’s of millions with no money or assets or jobs and they’ll rescue Obeyme care. My guess is this will save our failing education system and rescue all government entitlement programs.

Yeah, everything will be saved if we just grant these people legal status! 🙂 What a transparent attempt at trying to use one issue to gain support for the other, I cannot see many people falling for this but you never know…..

The people who need amnesty are the middle class taxpayers.

New revenue streams will not be there with a Republican House. But if Obama should go unchecked in his power grab by using executive orders, then anything is possible. when it comes to this the silence on the right is deafening.

I hope you are right but amnesty seems to be gaining support with some of the Republican. Obama has already issued EOs to loosen immigration laws so I will not be surprised if he does something on his own again. One of these times the Republicans will have to stand up to him.

Count me among the cynics. This is what they were wanting to happen all along. Immigration reform with amnesty fits like a glove into Obamacare. It is all designed to work together.

It is hard not to be a cynic based on everything the Obama regime has pulled to date!
