Then vs now: Mary Landrieu on Barack Obama’s ‘if you like your plan you can keep it’ lie

December 11, 2013

8628854-large Mary Landrieu voted for Obamacare but now that she is up for reelection she is calling out Barack Obama for his ‘if you like your plan you can keep it’ lie in a new campaign ad.

In her new campaign ad she states “you told them they could keep it.” [emphasis mine] She is speaking directly to Barack Obama and his now infamous promise. She has now introduced a bill  to “fix” Barack Obama’s broken promise while championing herself as an Obamacare reformer. She states that Barack Obama needs to keep to his word for it is a promise he made and so it is a promise he should keep.

  Here is the campaign ad:

She is clearly trying to distance herself from Barack Obama’s broken promise. However, as this article points out, Barack Obama is not the only one who made this promise.

This is what Mary Landrieu was saying about Obamacare, and Barack Obama’s promise, back in 2009:

In 2009 Mary Landrieu said Barack Obama’s ‘if you like your plan you can keep it’ promise was very accurate, but now she is singing quite a different tune.

So back in 2009 Mary Landrieu was either a useful idiot who had no idea what was in the bill because she did not read it and was simply mindlessly parroting what the president was telling her and the American people, or she was also lying to the American people. Which is it Mary? You cannot have it both ways.

Reblogged this on Brittius.com and commented:
Certainly not, a happy time for the Democrats, as the reckless and cavalier actions of the president has placed many mid-term hopefuls in jeopardy. I understand their anguish, and throw them out with the mid-term election cycle. It is, what it is.

Thanks for the reblog. It is hard to feel sorry for the people that Obama used to push this through now that they are faced with paying the piper for their actions for they are going to get what they deserve.

I have absolutely no remorse or bad feelings about dealing with those people, appropriately.
As it is, from a leadership position (which I am not of), I could easily send people to their demise to achieve a mission goal if this were combat, so why should I feel sorry about defeating the problem people in an election. It is a job that must be done, and voters, should approach the mission from a clinical viewpoint.
They, the liberals/progressives/Democrats/Marxists, caused the problems. Deal with them as you would a cockroach infestation.

Exactly! Obama used these people to achieve his goal without regard for what would happen to them when it was time for them to face reelection and they were willing to be used so it I cannot feel sorry for them.

All things being equal, she is sure to have it both ways. Her constituents will feel sorry for her having been misled by the messiah who, in his quest to provide affordable healthcare for the masses, momentarily lost his way. Besides, they know this is the fault of the republicans.

I hope you are wrong about that Peter but that is certainly what she is hoping for.
