Barack Obama opposes Obamacare transparency bill

January 13, 2014

The House is scheduled to vote on a bill which would require the Obama regime to provide the Congress with certain Obamacare information once a week. This is an effort at providing the American people with some transparency about the Obamacare numbers, here is a list of some of the information which the Obama regime would be required to report on a daily basis:

This includes a state-by-state breakdown of unique website visits, individuals who create an account, how many individuals successfully enroll in a qualified health plan or Medicaid, a detailed description of problems identified with website functionality, actions taken to address those problems, and a list of all navigators and certified application counselors that have been trained and certified by the exchanges.

As Lee Terry points out, this bill is necessary not only because of the Obama regime’s unwillingness to be forthcoming with much of this information but also because various scandals, and Barack Obama’s penchant for  hiding the documents related to them, has made the most open, honest, and transparent president in United States history not quite so transparent and certainly not trustworthy.

Terry wrote for Breitbart News that the need for such a forced disclosure from the administration is evident from the Obama administration’s failure to comply with congressional investigations into matters like Operation Fast and Furious and the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. “When automatic weapons were smuggled across the border into the waiting hands of drug cartels, the Obama Administration refused to turn over to Congress documents that would detail who knew what and when about Operation Fast and Furious,” Terry wrote. “When a planned terrorist attack resulted in the murder of U.S. diplomatic personnel in Libya, the Obama Administration sent the U.N. Ambassador Rice on the Sunday shows to lie to the American people.”

Needless to say the president opposes this legislation, claiming that it will be too costly for the American people, as if the president has suddenly become thrifty in his old age. But that is not quite the truth–nothing really is in regards to Barack Obama–because the CBO has studied this bill and says it will cost nothing to the American people.

It is obvious to me that Barack Obama is not interested in transparency for it will highlight exactly how ineffective Obamacare has been and that will make it harder for him to kick the propaganda machine into high gear in an election year in which the Democrats hope to win the House so they can finish the job of fundamentally changing America.

Of course Obama opposes this bill. It would require his administration to be subject to Congressional oversight and we all know how he feels about that.

I can’t help but laugh whenever someone tries to tell me how transparent the Obama administration has been. Looking back on his first five years in office, that claim is ludicrous.

He feels as if because he is the president he answers to nobody and he resents it when people question him.

So how is this going to be any different from all the other manipulated numbers reported by the Feds? Sen Udall is already applying political pressure in his state, Colorado, to have state officials report more favorable numbers. A few calls will be made and the bad numbers will not see the light of day.

BO is already spinning the numbers and the Dem are singing Happy Days are Here Again. The Propaganda Ministry will never tell the faithful that the anointed one effed-upped. Romney was right – 47% do not care what is happening. So the Dem only have to worry about 4% of the voters.

You raise a great point that I hadn’t thought about. What difference, at this point, does it make if Obama has to report the numbers to the Congress? He will just lie anyway.

According to Jonathan Gruber, who was the MIT economist that Obama hired to help create ObamaCare, “transparency” had to be avoided at all costs in order for the law to pass Congress. Here’s a video in which you can hear him say it himself:
