Union leaders claim Barack Obama betrayed them on Obamacare
The unions are to the Democrats what the corporations are to the Republicans–a special interest group which must be placated if the party is to receive campaign donations and support.
In order to placate the unions and win support of Obamacare, Barack Obama promised the unions that a special Obamacare exemption would be carved out for them so their members would not be subjected to the same law as non-union employees. So much for equal protection under the law.
As it turns out, however, the unions have not been exempted from the law and unions leaders are not to happy. In fact they feel betrayed:
Labor leaders who have spent months lobbying unsuccessfully for special protections under the Affordable Care Act warned this week that the White House’s continued refusal to help is dampening union support for Democratic candidates in this year’s midterm elections.
Leaders of two major unions, including the first to endorse Obama in 2008, said they have been betrayed by an administration that wooed their support for the 2009 legislation with promises to later address the peculiar needs of union-negotiated insurance plans that cover millions of workers.
Their complaints reflect a broad sense of disappointment among many labor leaders, who say the Affordable Care Act has subjected union health plans to new taxes and mandates while not allowing them to share in the subsidies that have gone to private insurance companies competing on the newly created exchanges.
“We want to hold the president to his word: If you like your health-care coverage, you can keep it, and that just hasn’t been the case,” said Donald “D.” Taylor, president of Unite Here, the union that represents about 400,000 hotel and restaurant workers and provided a crucial boost to Obama by endorsing him just after his rival Hillary Rodham Clinton had won the New Hampshire primary.
When the union leaders thought they would be above the law they supported the law but now that they realize their members are no better than any other American they are turning against Barack Obama and the Democrats because they feel they were used–which of course they were. This is the very definition of the term ‘useful idiot’ and this is how it always turns out for the useful idiots–they are the first against the wall. You would think that at some point these people would learn from history but apparently they are ignorant of the past.
It is hard to feel sorry for these people because they are getting exactly what they deserve for believing and supporting Barack Obama and his radical policies in the first place. Welcome to the club, you are not alone.

Sadly, I think you are right. The union bosses have too much to lose, both money and power. The rank and file may start bucking, but only until they get their next raise and next promise of a retirement. I do pray that the ‘sheepus-publicus’, commonly called sheeple, will wake up and recognize their freedoms being eroded and quietly stolen. Hopefully before the usurper in chief attempts to exercise martial law or a full blown law enforcement crack down….. Tell every one you know. Always better to wake up on your own instead of being violently awakened in the middle of the night to the storm troopers….

This is the perfect point to help illustrate to your progressive friends and the rest of the happy lemmings who have been cheering these destroyers in the white house what happens when some people are allowed to exercise power over another group of people out side the strictures of law. These unions and die hard Dems and especially the OWS types who think it’s the best thing in the world to see us, freedom loving liverty minded people get shafted day after day. But they just can’t comprehend the dictator turning on them once he has secured power.
Let us pray that the usurper in chief overestimates his consolidation of power and starts stinging the sheeple awake.

The union mob rulers are probably ‘exempt’ -or- they’ll ‘still get their portion/cut of the pie’ – only the workers will pay, as usual. [Sometimes workers get laid off right before they qualify for health benefits anyway – part of the raw deal.] If this is the way they ‘care’ for the poor it would be better if they didn’t! We know they don’t – liars & users.
