The FCC drops its plan to survey the media
Yesterday America’s Watchtower covered the story about a new Obama initiative which it was alleged would have the FCC study news outlets to determine how they decided which stories to report and which stories to ignore. There were some scary aspects to this story:
“The purpose of these interviews is to ascertain the process by which stories are selected,” the Social Solutions report said, adding that news organizations would be evaluated for “station priorities (for content, production quality, and populations served), perceived station bias, perceived percent of news dedicated to each of the eight CINs, and perceived responsiveness to underserved populations.”
If the FCC goes forward, it’s not clear what will happen to news organizations that fall short of the new government standards. Perhaps they will be disciplined. Or perhaps the very threat of investigating their methods will nudge them into compliance with the administration’s journalistic agenda.
This story, coupled with the report that Democrats in the Congress were sending a letter to media outlets pressuring them to push Barack Obama’s global warming agenda, had many people worried that the free press would not long remain all that free.
While the mainstream media decided not to push back against this encroachment, probably in fear of retribution, the blogosphere erupted in righteous indignation and the American people let their displeasure be known, and today the FCC has announced it is dropping its plan to survey the media.
The Federal Communications Commission cancelled a plan to evaluate the coverage of major media outlets Friday after a tidal wave of media criticism alleged the agency was attempting to influence and regulate the news media industry.
“In the course of FCC review and public comment, concerns were raised that some of the questions may not have been appropriate,” the agency said in a statement Friday. “Chairman Wheeler agreed that survey questions in the study directed toward media outlet managers, news directors, and reporters overstepped the bounds of what is required.”
This is a major victory for the Constitution and the free press but we must remain vigilant for while this study was cancelled for the time being it is sure to come back at some point if we let down our guard. The Obama regime is not going to let this fade into the night, it will be reintroduced when the regime feels the American people are focused elsewhere.
Dropped, for now. With the plans that the Glass Jaw Dictator has for Syria and elsewhere, the media would have gone on a feeding frenzy and more than likely.., used blogs rather than controlled channels.
Like a bad penny, the Marxists will be back with it. Obama attacked veterans again, to take rights of 2A away from 129,000 veterans. It looks like the Dictator is going to follow through his aggression against veterans.
Now, if I see anything that might be terror, I say nothing. I see nothing. I heard nothing.
Nobody can prove elsewise. After all, I am, a veteran. Obama says we’re crazy and mentally defective.

First, thank you for your service! It must be so frustrating to see Obama go after the people who serve, it bothers the hell out of me and I did not serve, I can only imagine how it makes you feel.
There is no doubt in my mind that this will be back again when Obama sees and opportunity.

Thank you. It’s about doing your job, and also helping others. I am confident that you would qualify.
Obama’s gross disrespect continues, and the RINO-Crats allow it. Doubt if anything good will ever happen.

Yes, we cannot forget that Obama is emboldened because the Republicans are letting him get away with it. Who can blame him for tying to push the envelope to see how far he can go. he pushed it a little too far this time for the people to accept it, but he will try this again, I am sure.

Sometimes if people raise their voices loud enough, the would be tyrrants will listen, at least until they find a different angle from which make a renewed attack.

Unfortunately would be dictators only hear the voices in their own head. Just look at Egypt, Syria, Iran, Libya, Venezuela, and the Ukraine. All of these countries are run by a dictator. Are they listening to the voice of the people? And what is ment by the people. Obama claims he is listening to the people – the elite and the uneducated and uninformed voter. Obama proves everyday the constitution is a piece of parchment on display in the NA.

Plus they create the voices they hear by pushing propaganda in hopes of getting people to follow them.
