New York Senator wants mandatory parenting classes in order for children to advance in the school system

February 22, 2014

“Should there be one set of rules for parenting? Well if some New York lawmakers have their way you could be forced to go to state mandated parenting workshops or your kid won’t advance to the next grade.”

That quote was taken from the following report about a New York Senator’s proposal that all New York parents should be required to take a parenting class if they want their children to advance beyond the sixth grade.

Nobody will deny there are bad parents out there, and nobody will deny that there are parents out there who never should have become parents in the first place, but do not states already have child services out there working in conjunction with the schools which are designed to identify these bad parents to monitor their children to ensure their safety, even taking their children away if needs be? The answer is yes, so why go after ALL parents, even the good ones, if not for more government control over the future generations?

Many schools out there are already nothing more than indoctrination centers designed to raise future generations to be politically correct robots who know only the truth as liberal teachers and professors see it, this is the next logical step in indoctrination–get the parents on board with the agenda through a state run program or their children will be help back in the state run schools. Forced compliance by holding the children hostage is not the proper way to ensure good parenting, but that is not what this is about.

We have recently heard a couple of the ruling class elites make the claim that not only do the children belong to the parents, but also to the community, and by the natural extension the government, so what better way to guarantee the children become what they consider to be useful eaters than by taking away the parents’ rights to raise their children the way they see fit by forcing them to comply with the government’s idea of how parents should raise their children? This is but another attack on parents’ rights and their freedoms to raise their children as they see fit, while handing over more control in child-rearing to the state. More power to the state and less power to the parents.

What bothers me the most about the video above are the comments from people who think this is a good idea, especially the person who claims that the people who oppose this idea are the people who need the class the most.

This was a blanket statement based on feelings rather than fact. In pushing this radical plan the man who claims that the people who opposes this usurpation are probably the people who need the class the most he totally ignores the possibility that these people simply want to raise their children they way they see fit–as is their right–and if they are doing nothing wrong (regardless of what the government thinks) why shouldn’t they be able to?

These parents are opposed to more government intervention in their lives, and that alone does not mean they are bad parents. In fact it is the opposite: teaching children to be self-sufficient and not reliant on the government used to be a noble idea, now it is a radical one.

As an advocate of state’s rights I believe that if this is how New York wants to run its school system, and this is what the voters of New York want, than so be it. I simply choose not to live in such a totalitarian state and I hope that the people of New York who oppose this measure decide to leave the state and take their money to another, more freedom loving state.

Unbelievable, One lemming equates a license to fish with her inanity that its bad that parents aren’t required to have licenses. Another goober shucks and jives while he says that those who are against it are probably the one’s who need it most. Licensing out door activities is a way to raise revenue, it’s a tax she-lemming. And to think that someone who is opposed to a bad idea is a bad, not a cog fitting into the machine, person. Dear God Almighty, the sheepus-publicus are on the rise. Where are some of nature’s awesome predators like wolves to begin thinning this herd. (ideologically, not advocating violence)

Any one who has children in public schools should do what ever it takes, take a second or third job, beg on a street corner, sell a kidney, what ever it takes to educate your children outside of public schools; either private or home school. Check out Bill Whittle’s ideas on educating our young. His videos are on youtube and at Billwhittle.com It comes up over and over in many of his videos.

We have got to start playing the long game. This stupid idiot from NY knows his bill will be defeated, but they are telling us what they think what their vision of society should look like. They don’t care that this proposed bill will be defeated. Look how many fools accept it already. They will just bring it out and run it around the track every year or two and eventually it will pass.

I need to sheer me some wool to stuff in my ears to keep out all the bleating.

It is quite clear to me that anyone who has school age children should do whatever it takes to home school their children, or else they will be indoctrinated into the statist mentality. This is a threat to the statists so we can expect the attacks against home schooling to rise until it is eventually outlawed.

Home Schooling has already been outlawed in Germany. The more who participate in it now and also in private schools that actually teach, the harder it will be for the statists to stop it. My one shining hope against all that is going on is that they are so emboldened right now that they are taking off their pretty faces and trying to push their pseudo religious beliefs faster than any one in history has ever done. The whole thing may just spin apart before they can get around to Home schooling. Way too many guns and magazines out there to confiscate… Then we need to be the ones who are ready to help pick up the pieces and help rebuild.

By the way, Steve, thanks for posting videos from Bill Whittle from time to time. Since you introduced me to him I have found an amazing resource in explaining things to my lemming friends. Bill’s wit is sharp and clear. And his Mr. Virtual President series is some of the best stuff I have heard out there.

You nailed it, the one hope we have right now is that they are pushing us too far too fast because because of their arrogance. Their arrogance could be their undoing.
Bill Whittle is the man and I an glad I helped to spread his message to others. He has a sarcasm and a wit about him that helps him to drive the point home and I wish there were more like him out there!

So, who is going to play Dr. Spock this time and fail? New York is already a socialist state. What more to they want?

They want it all, ConF, They absolutely want it all. And if they finally get it, they will still want more. The lust for power and control is an insatiable black hole.

One other thing occurs to me about this. They are willing, based on the teachings of the destroyer of children’s dignity, Dr Spock, that they will socially promote a student for self esteem, tax money and a shell game with numbers and howl like the dying if we suggest holding a child back for academic reasons. But they use the threat of the very thing they wail and cry about to achieve social control of the masses. Can you say ‘political education centers’ boys and girls?
