Sheila Jackson Lee believes the Constitution is 400 years old

March 12, 2014

How many times have bloggers stated that our elected officials do not understand the Constitution, our founding, or our history? I know I have made this claim many times in the past.

Sheila Jackson Lee, who earlier stated that the Democrats number one priority should be writing Executive Orders for the president to sign, is one such individual who does not seem to be able to grasp the separation of powers granted under the Constitution and today she took her ignorance of America’s founding to a new low when she stated the Constitution was 400 years old.

  Here is what she said:

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” she said.

We have lasted under our Constitution for some 400 years? Of course we all know, or at least we should know, that the Constitution was adopted in 1789 and by my math that means we have been operating under the Constitution for 225 years as of March 4th of this year. She is only off by 175 years!

With our elected officials so ignorant of our history, founding, and Constitution is it any wonder we find ourselves in the predicament we are in?

God help us! What was the Democratic Party in Texas thinking when they selected her to be their candidate the first time? What doe it say about the voters in her district? Sadly, she is only one idiot of many that Americans have sent to Washington.

The Act of 1871 (the 2nd Constitution) puts her statement even farther away. But, we still have 57 states don’t we, like Obama said … humm. Hillary doesn’t think any of this matters, or did that just refer to Benghazi? Where’s the ‘core’ of commonality, when we can’t even agree on the facts!

Eh, don’t think that misunderstandings of, and misstatements about the US Constitution are limited to members of the Dem party. Remember that former House Whip Tom Delay – a GOPer, if memory serves – announced recently that it was God Himself who wrote the Constitution!

Take good care and may God bless us all!

No it is not, you may remember that I was pretty hard on Michelle Bachmann during the 2012 campaign when she came to Concord, New Hampshire and repeatedly stated that this was the birthplace of the revolution. That was a double whammy because on top of being wrong about history, New Hampshire residents do not like to be confused with Massachusetts. 🙂

There is no question misstatements are made on all sides. But there is an ENORMOUS difference in how the mistakes are covered. The left ALWAYS gets a pass from the media. Dan Quayle was destroyed for misspelling potato, but Obama misspells respect, on national tv, and nobody cares. Bush mispronounces nuclear and the left MSM goes ballistic, but Lee tells us the constitution is 400 years old, and the left derides the right for even pointing it out.
Remember, “all animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others”, and the left and it’s MSM is the most equal of all.

Once the constitution et al become part of Black History Month maybe Shirley will educate herself. With the crowd writing textbooks these days it shouldn’t be too difficult to prove that black men wrote the constitution. Maybe then the schools will make it part of the core curriculum.

Wow! I wonder if we get enough morons in DC if it will self-destruct? Or at least capsize. Hmmm….couldn’t be that lucky.

We have heard enough come out of her mouth that this should not shock anyone. However, the Dem Party just dares anyone to come out against elected people like her. She is a protected species.
