Mitt Romney rules out running for president in 2016
Chalk this story up in the ‘Thank God’ category.
There had been some rumblings that Mitt Romney was being persuaded by some of the establishment Republicans, who fear the possibility of a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz candidacy, to take another crack at running for president in 2016. America’s Watchtower has covered this possibility here and here for those who are interested in reading a little background on this issue.
When asked earlier today whether or not he was considering another run at the presidency Mitt Romney firmly denied this was the case. Here is part of what he said:
When asked if he thinks about running again, Romney said, “No, I’m thinking about people who I want to see running for president.”
He said that there was “quite a group” of “very strong leaders” who could be the party’s nominee and that he fully anticipates he would be “supporting one of them very vigorously.”
Hopefully this will put an end to the speculation once and for all; it is possible that with this announcement Mitt Romney has saved the establishment Republicans from themselves.
However, the establishment Republicans are so fearful of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, and the possibility they will win the nomination and upset the apple cart and their gravy train, that this news will not be enough to save them from making the same mistakes they have made in the past for now they will set their sights on–GASP–Jeb Bush and attempt to persuade him to jump into the race. And if he has the backing of the establishment it will mean he has the money and the Republicans will be able to choke off any opposition candidate to their preferred nominee.
If this scenario plays out, and Jeb Bush is the Republican nominee in 2016, the establishment Republicans might as well start helping Hillary Clinton plan her inaugural balls right now because she will be the next president of the United States and she will have them, in part, to thank for it.

I guess old Mittens realized that doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results, is the very definition of insanity.

Now if the Republican establishment would realize the same thing…..

Let’s see. Mitt (the GOP) got about 50 million votes last time. Jeb Bush would be lucky to get 40 million.

What he means is, it was one thing for the GOP elites having him give the election to Obalama but there is no way he’s throwing it to that beast Hillary Clinton.

We’d be wise to realize that, since ‘barry’ was groomed for a long while – as was B. Clinton.
I noticed my typo ‘they’re’ … it brought a thought to mind though, ‘They are …’
Which is a big portion of the problem! ‘They Are Among Us.’

I didn’t even catch that typo, if you didn’t say anything nobody would have noticed. 🙂
