The Tea Party Patriots file a lawsuit against the IRS seeking documents related to the targeting scandal

April 15, 2014

Last December the Tea Party Patriots requested documents related to the IRS targeting scandal through a FOIA request but as of yet, and not surprisingly, they have not received a single document. And this coming from the most open, honest, and transparent administration in the history of the United States…..

According to this article the Tea Party Patriots have taken the next step by filing a lawsuit against the IRS, and the Treasury Department, in an attempt to get their hands on the documents which are being kept from them.

The group Tea Party Patriots filed suit on this Tax Day against the Internal Revenue Service for documents about the agency’s infamous targeting of conservative groups last year.

The group hopes the documents will shed more light on why conservative and tea party groups were singled out for extra scrutiny by the IRS while applying for non-profit status ahead of the 2012 election.

Tea Party Patriots also wants to learn more about the specific roles of former IRS official Lois Lerner and other Obama administration officials in developing these regulations that led to the special targeting, officials said Tuesday during a conference call with reporters.

Specifically, the suit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, demands documents relating to the IRS’ infamous “Guidance for Tax Exempt Social Welfare Organizations on Candidate-Related Political Activities.”

It would seem to me that if these documents exonerated the IRS they would be more than willing to release these documents, but lest we forget this scandal first came to light when Lois Lerner apologized for inappropriately targeting the Tea Party. What was this if it was not an admission of the fact that the IRS was involved in selective targeting of political opponents? But just an apology without the documents is not enough to get to the bottom of how deep this scandal actually goes.

There is only one reason I can think of as to why the IRS will not release the documents related to a scandal in which they have already admitted happened, and apologized for, and that is this: they are protecting people much higher up in the chain and we would learn that this was not simply the rash actions of a few rogue agents in the field, but rather a concerted effort by the Obama regime which goes all the way to the top. Of course I could be wrong, but if so why would not the IRS release these documents and prove the Tea Party wrong? It would be in their best interest to do so if they could.

  Stay tuned…..

I just came back from a Tea Party rally at the State Capitol here in Sacramento and Mark Mekler was there talking about the suit. I don’t know if he is the one filing the suit, or one of the people who are. The talked about the crap the IRS has done to him and that while outrageous, it wasn’t surprising.
I am sure he will get as much justice as the survivors of Bengazi are getting.

I f they ever get anything from the IRS it will be so redacted that it will not be better than nothing. The federal government under Obama has put itself above the law. Sadly, I am not confident that, if the Republicans get control , they’ll doin thing diferently.

Fire, I heard so many people say in the last election there is no difference between parties that they were going to stay home. And now look what we have. Will they do things differently? Who knows. Will they attack the constitutions and the rights of the people with the same “fundamental transformation” zeal? Hell no!

I also doubt anything will come from this and in the end Obama will just claim EP and seal the documents just like he did in Fast and Furious.
