Andrea Mitchell asks Dianne Feinstein if the men in the US government would have acted more quickly if it were not schoolgirls who were kidnapped in Nigeria

 There was an interesting exchange during an interview between Andrea Mitchell and Dianne Feinstein today; you can watch a part of the interview here.

  During this exchange Andrea Mitchell states that the women in the Senate are united in doing something about the kidnapping of Nigerian schoolgirls by Boko Haram, but laments that the men who are in charge of the US government have been acting slowly. She then asked if it were not schoolgirls who were kidnapped if the men in the government would have acted more quickly. Dianne Feinstein interrupts her at this point and asks “you mean if schoolboys” were kidnapped. Andrea Mitchell then begins to backtrack and states she did not necessarily mean that scenario in particular, but rather any other scenario in general.

  But the implication in my opinion was clear; the men in the Congress are misogynists who care nothing about this story because it was just schoolgirls who were kidnapped.

  I believe this was yet another attempt at advancing the war on women angle that Democrats are hoping to ride to victory in November’s election.

  To her credit, Dianne Feinstein did not take the bait and perhaps that is because she understands something that Andrea Mitchell either does not understand or refuses to admit; it is quite possible that we never would have gotten to this point in the first place if Hillary Clinton (a woman) had not refused to label Boko Haram as a terrorist organization while she was Secretary of State.
