Democratic Representative on Ferguson: There is going to be a problem in the streets if justice is not served

August 24, 2014

Earlier today Democratic Representative Lacy Clay of Missouri was on ‘Face the Nation’ and he had this to say about the situation in Ferguson following the death of Michael Brown at the hands of the police:

“I  am not really concerned about the funeral reigniting the tensions. I guess what I am most concerned about, and I made a promise to Michael Brown’s parents that I would do everything to bring all of the resources of the federal government to this investigation so that it is transparent, so that it is a viable investigation and we bet [sic] to the truth. Now, I am more concerned that if we do not get to the truth and get to what actually happened and bring justice to this situation, then there is going to be a problem in the streets.”

220px-Wm._Lacy_Clay_Official_Photo_2009 He talks about transparency and truth but then goes on to talk about bringing justice to the situation in order to avoid a “problem in the streets.” So what does he mean by transparency and truth and why did he make this promise just to Michael Brown’s parents and not to the public or to Darren Wilson or his family? There are two sides to this story…

Maybe I am reading this wrong but to me it sounds as if when he is talking about transparency and truth he is talking about the Ferguson police and not about getting to the absolute truth, but rather to the truth as he presupposes it to be–Darren Wilson is guilty and if he is not found guilty justice will not be served. His comment about there being a “problem in the streets” seems to indicate that anything less than a guilty verdict will not be justice, and we do not even know at this point if Darren Wilson is going to be charged with a crime.

Make no mistake about it: if Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown while he was surrendering, as originally reported, then justice should be served and he should go to jail for life, however if the more recent stories are true then the shooting could be justified and that would mean that a not-guilty verdict would be justice. Regardless of the mainstream media narrative there are too many unknowns to understand what the absolute truth is at this point.

However, it would appear as if Darren Wilson has already been tried and convicted in the eyes of the mainstream media, those who have been rioting, and people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, and politicians such as Lacy Clay and if that is the truth I fear justice will not be served if indeed the later reports are true.

All I am interested in here is the truth and to date we do not know what the truth is, but I fear Darren Wilson will not be able to receive a fair trial and the outcome of this case has been predetermined based on emotion and not on fact.

In the end I think the biggest problem with this story is that it has been made into a political issue and that has taken the focus off of the personal aspect of this story.

My God, Lacy’s statement just reeks of double-speak. It isn’t just you Steve, I would bet what I have that this is a thinly veiled threat,.You know how on TV one person says “is that a threat” and the other replies “no, it is a promise”.
Think about all the “dog-whistle” and “code” crap thrown at conservatives. The only purpose of this kind of talk is to insight and threaten. “Justice”=conviction, “viable investigation”=prosecution, “get to the truth”=a black kid was gunned down for no reason, and “get to what actually happened”=the outcome we want to hear, and “problem in the streets”=rioting and looting..

That is the same way I read it as well, it was a threat in my opinion. And with the scales being tipped by the MSM and politicians there is no doubt in my mind that Wilson is going to be tried and convicted, regardless of whether or not this was justified.

Reading between the lines of what he said is not difficult, is it? His definition of justice is that the verdict comes in that a whit cop murdered an defenseless black teen. He doesn’t want justice. He wants a lynching of Mr. Wilson.

Exactly and I don’t think there is any way Wilson can get a fair trial. I thought the same thing about Zimmerman and I was wrong, but that only increases the odds that the same “mistake” will not be made again.

I hesitated to use the word lynching because of it’s historic connotation, but there is no question that this is a call for vigilant justice, the rule of law be damned.

Its historical connotation aside, there is nothing offensive about using this term today in politics for it is said about many issues regardless of color. it is “offensive” only to those who want to paint conservative as racists for they ignore the context of the sentence the word is used in.

There is nothing hidden about the civil rights industry agenda anymore but rather, it Is right out there in our face. They decide who is guilty and there will be hell to pay if they are not accommodated. They are the arbiters and advocates for whomever they decide have civil rights.

I heard that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are called “Slave Buffers” by their Bros that ‘see’ what’s going on.
Here’s something to add to the perspective: “CNN Refutes its Own Mike Brown Narrative, Calls Eyewitness NOT Credible”

When eyewitnesses provided the narrative that CNN wanted to promote they thought it was credible, now suddenly it is not and why is that? Because we are hearing a story that is quite different than the original one.

These people are not interested in the truth. All they want is Darren Wilson’s head on a plate. Anything less and they will declare justice has not been served. Never mind what the truth is.

Exactly Larry, he has already been tried and convicted and there is no way he can get a fair trial at this point. And I think there will be a trial because if it is ruled that he did nothing wrong and will not face charges all hell will break loose.

If it wasn’t this, they would have found another reason to start a race war. It is in Obama’s play book, and so far it has been working out swell in tearing our country apart.
