Benghazi: CIA security members on the scene claim they were held back by the CIA head

September 4, 2014

We are approaching the second anniversary of the terrorist attack in Benghazi which left Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, and Sean Smith dead and we still do not have any answers.

Now three members of the CIA security team in Benghazi are finally starting to speak out about what they claimed happened on the fateful day. They claim the team was geared up and ready to come to the aid of the besieged Americans but were ordered to stand down by the head of the CIA in the region, who they only identify as ‘Bob.’

  Here is more:

“Five minutes, we’re ready,” said Paronto, a former Army Ranger. “It was thumbs up, thumbs up, we’re ready to go.”

But the team was held back. According to the security operators, they were delayed from responding to the attack by the top CIA officer in Benghazi, whom they refer to only as “Bob.”

“It had probably been 15 minutes I think, and … I just said, ‘Hey, you know, we gotta– we need to get over there, we’re losing the initiative,’” said Tiegen. “And Bob just looks straight at me and said, ‘Stand down, you need to wait.’”

“We’re starting to get calls from the State Department guys saying, ‘Hey, we’re taking fire, we need you guys here, we need help,’” said Paronto.

After a delay of nearly 30 minutes, the security team headed to the besieged consulate without orders. They asked their CIA superiors to call for armed air support, which never came.

Now, looking back, the security team said they believed that if they had not been delayed for nearly half an hour, or if the air support had come, things might have turned out differently.

“Ambassador Stevens and Sean [Smith], yeah, they would still be alive, my gut is yes,” Paronto said. Tiegen concurred.

“I strongly believe if we’d left immediately, they’d still be alive today,” he added.

A senior CIA intelligence officer is denying there was a stand down order however:

In a statement to Fox News, a senior intelligence official insisted that,  “There were no orders to anybody to stand down in providing support.”

He seems to be playing a game of semantics because he does admit the rescue was delayed:

In a statement to Fox News, a senior intelligence official did allow that the security team was delayed from responding while the CIA’s top officer in Benghazi tried to rally local support.

According to him the mission was delayed because they wanted to get local support, but when the lives of the people you are supposed to be protecting are in danger it seems as if priority number one should not be rallying local support.

So, were they really trying to rally support or was there another reason for not coming to the aid of the ambassador and the others? Perhaps they were trying to protect that rumored gun-running scheme which was allegedly taking place through the CIA annex.

As you say, it is almost 2 years and we still don’t know the truth. Why? Holder won’t do his job with THAT issue. I just heard Holder explain how he is going to tear Ferguson a new on, but if it doesn’t benefit the left, what does he care?
Mark my word, someone in the government is looking for an obscure video to have ready in 7 days, “just in case”.

It makes you wonder what they are really hiding, doesn’t it? I for one do not believe that they were simply trying to get support from the locals.

We figured that sooner or later someone would start to sing. Either way, still waiting for the Justice which of course will never happen.

I guess “stand down” only means “stand down” if the order iiven from outside of Libya. if the order was given from inside of Libya, it means “delayed”. How do these people sleep at night?

Yeah, even if the order was given by the CIA head in Libya it still could have come from above.

I can not help but wonder if we will ever know the truth of what happened in Benghazi. Certainly, something was going down. Certainly, we lost people we should not have lost. Certainly, this current administration has no intention of telling us the answers, much less the truth.

What would happen if we did know the truth, if the real story did emerge?

In answer to your question, above, Zip, NOTHING! We will do nothing and as Hillary has said “what difference would it make?” They have drawn it out so long that it has become almost a non-issue, but it rears its’ head now and then. Sad that when people are finally coming out and telling the truth, that it will lead to nothing. I believe what the guys are telling us AND I disbelieve everything that comes out of the mouth of anyone in this administration. Who would have thought that is the opinion the majority of “thinking” people have of our government!!!

That’s what I was thinking too Lou. Not in an ‘apathetic’ way, but just ‘reality.’ It would be great if there was a ‘secret group’ holding back the tide (of the termites from eating away the foundation too quickly) who could ‘convince’ some SCOTUS or Military heads to bring them down. The blinding pride of these usurpers won’t see it coming on them – believing they are not only above the law but are the law. Until proven wrong …

It is either going to take someone of unquestionable integrity or people in high places in MASS, to take this administration down. We the people are dismissed by those in power. They have the media on their side and they get out the information they want the little people to know. I know a lot of smart people, that happen to be liberals. They are so out of touch with reality, they will never believe anything bad is coming out of this administration. They have voted for Obama twice and feel good about it. How do you bring them around to the real world? I know at some point it will hit them in the face, but by then, TOO LATE!

I went to see Dennis Michael Lynch in town last night. He has done a number of documentaries on the border and immigration, he has also been on FOX. He has some good points, but in some ways is very clueless, as well.He feels that Dr. Carson would be a good candidate, but for his views on letting the illegals already here become citizens. He did say that the 11 million illegals was more like 40 million, I am in agreement there. I like to hear other peoples opinions on what is going on, but not sure if he truly sees the big picture. He is of the same opinion as Donald Trump, that the Republican party has not seen the person that will run in the next election. They both feel it will either be a Governor or a CEO of a big company. I have the opinion that the entitled one has already been decided on, but really have a nagging feeling that Hillary Clinton is going to win the election no matter who runs on the Republican ticket. I really hope my little person that talks inside my head (just kidding), is not correct!!!

Yeah, we really have no say in the matter. The establishment on both sides will pick their candidate for us and Hillary will be the next president…

Reblogged this on disturbeddeputy and commented:
Benghazi was nothing more than a hit on the ambassador to keep him quiet about the administration’s illegal arming of terrorists.
