Debbie Wasserman-Schultz backtracks from her Scott Walker comments
Yesterday Debbie Wasserman-Schultz made some rather inflammatory comments about Scott Walker when she said he had “given women the back of his hand” and that he (and the Tea Party) were “grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back.”
Today she released a statement in which she backtracked slightly from these comments in a written statement.
Here is part of what she that statement contained:
“I shouldn’t have used the words I used.”
However:
“that shouldn’t detract from the broader point that I was making that Scott Walker’s policies have been bad for Wisconsin women. Whether it’s mandating ultrasounds, repealing an equal pay law, or rejecting federal funding for preventative health care, Walker’s record speaks for itself.”
These are legitimate issues which can and should be debated but regardless of that, and much to her chagrin, using rhetoric such as she did does in fact detract from the point she was trying to make and there is no place for it from an elected official.
This statement is a small step in the right direction but it stopped short of being an apology and she owes Scott Walker that much.
As I just heard Lars Larson ask, how does the left get away with this crap? Sorry, I guess that is a rhetorical question. And yes, it would diminish her credibility if anyone in the MSM had any credibility.

It is rhetorical for we all know the answer…

But how many will hear/read this? Her statement stands as spoken.

Yes, people will remember what she said but will not remember (if they hear it at all) that she had to backtrack.

How many times have we witnessed this sort of thing. Someone on the left says something outlandish and ignorant, then “apologizes” for saying it, without actually apologizing or changing anything they say. Their statement is allowed to stand as it was spoken and they get a pat on the back.
The tactics of the left have not changed, nor will they.

People will only remember the original statement and will not care about the accuracy of the statement. The Democrats realize this and they are masters at utilizing this type of demagoguery.

She was probably reflecting on the last time her hair was pulled back in a motel room on Federal Highway. And of course, her targeted audience would never consider blaming the impoverished themselves for pumping out kids they can’t afford with the urging of bureaucrats pushing gov’t dependency programs; with free birth control! It brings to mind the old joke where the woman on birth control got pregnant because when she opened her legs the pill fell out. The perfect storm: ignorance, slothfulness and the federal government… that damn Scott Walker! 👺

“Whether it’s mandating ultrasounds, repealing an equal pay law . . . .”
“These are legitimate issues which can and should be debated . . . .”
Honestly, it drives me crazy that liberals have already passed so many “equal pay laws” and yet continue to claim with a straight face that women still don’t get equal pay. No, women are not paid 77¢ for every dollar a man is paid for the same work!

Didn’t I say on the last post about Debbie, that she would get it out there and whether or not she retracts the statement, it would still be there? Now here she goes pulling back, guess she has no morals or ethics or frankly a CONSCIENCE! And, as I have said before, she is an idiot!
