New NOAA study finds global warming on the West coast is natural and not man-made

September 23, 2014

According to this article the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the University of Washington, have released a new study which concludes that the warming which is supposedly taking place on the West coast is actually a natural occurrence.

Here is more from the article:

The study, published as “Atmospheric controls on northeast Pacific temperature variability and change, 1900–2012,” reports that while “Northeast Pacific coastal warming since 1900 is often ascribed to anthropogenic greenhouse forcing…century-long warming around the northeast Pacific margins, like multidecadal variability, can be primarily attributed to changes in atmospheric circulation,” and not to human burning of fossil fuels.

The Los Angeles Times quotes study leader James Johnstone: “Changing winds appear to explain a very large fraction of the warming from year to year, decade to decade and the long-term.” The Times adds: “This latest research shows that similar changes in atmospheric and ocean circulation can drive trends that last a century or longer, overshadowing the effects of human-generated increase in greenhouse gases, the study’s authors said.

global_warming So for over 100 years the Pacific coast has been warming and while man-made global warming has been cited as the reason for this we are now being told that for the most part the warming is natural and not the result of man-made global warming. It has to do with circulation but of course the study just could not rule out that man had a least a small part in the warming. (The university has to protect its grant money after all and can not afford to totally rule out man-made global warming lest they upset the wrong people.)

And yet even as the science becomes less settled Barack Obama took to the floor of the United Nations and promised to take, what else, Executive Action on global warming. The agenda marches forward…

To think that WE have much effect on the earth is being pretty presumptuous on our part! Mother Earth will be here long after we have gone the way of the dinosaurs! Then we hear Obama at the UN, taking the blame for us, we are the ones that are causing the most problems to the climate. Give me a break! I am getting tired of him blaming ME for everything he possibly can. I must be a horrendous person, is all I can say.
