Republicans win big but what’s next?
As of right now it is being reported that the Republicans have picked up 7 Senate seats and 12 House seats but that number could change a little bit once all the votes are counted.
One thing is certain however and that is this was a big night for the Republicans and it was a repudiation of Barack Obama and the Democrats.
But what is next? That is the question. I have been making the claim for months that the establishment Republicans and the establishment Democrats in Washington are actually on the same side. I have been writing about the Hegelian dialectic and the way it is used to keep the people fighting with each other while behind the scenes the establishment is working toward a larger agenda.
So with that being said I am not going to sit here and celebrate, I am not going to make the statement that all of our problems were solved last night, and I am not going to claim that the United States is suddenly on the right track and that all is well again just because the Republicans won. They need to prove it to me.
But before we even get to that point in time we have two major concerns and they are the Executive Order and the lame duck Congress. Barack Obama is still promising amnesty by Christmas and with the outgoing Democrats having nothing left to lose there is no telling what they might try to push through the Congress before the Republicans take over. A wounded animal is a dangerous one…
Once the new Congress is sworn in it will be time for the Republicans to prove to us they deserve to be there and it will no longer be enough for them to simply oppose the President, it is time to dump the rhetoric and take action.
But it is not entirely fair to claim the Republicans, at least in the House, have not tried to take action. To date the House has passed somewhere around 3oo bills and sent them to the Senate where Harry Reid has allowed them to languish in political purgatory, refusing to even have a debate on them–all the while labeling the Republicans as the party of no.
These bills will now pass the House and the Senate and without Harry Reid there to protect him Barack Obama will have to either sign or veto much more legislation than he has had to in the past. As Bill Whittle said in a previous video I shared here, it is time to make Barack Obama own it. Will the Republicans be competent enough to do it or will they manage to throw it away? That remains to be seen…

My concern goes back to 1994 when the democrats after losing the House for the first time in 40 years demanded power sharing with the republicans who pretty much capitulated. This should be day one of the democrat’s and the left’s agenda of discrediting the republicans. Let’s see how the supposedly newly invigorated McConnell and his sidekick Boner handle this. Other than that today feels pretty good.

NOW they want to get along, right? I hope the Republicans do NOT fall for this again, but we know it happens. Hopefully there are some level headed individuals that will stop it. I seem to remember someone saying “we won, you lost”, can we apply the same now?
Will Mary Landrieu’s seat be #8 pickup when she has the runoff? That will sound even better, won’t it?

With the media pressuring them to work with the Democrats I am sure they will cave in the end, but who knows maybe they have finally learned their lesson. Number 8 came today with Alaska so Landrieu would be number 9!

Peter, you said today feels pretty good, I am at a “guarded good” at the moment. For some reason, I always feel something bad is going to happen. Surely this is not just ME feeling that way?

I will feel better IF McConnell is out of the majority position, I do not feel he was a strong minority leader. Hopefully it is in the works to put someone in that will have our best interest, someone like Cruz or Lee???

I am there with you guys, I feel good but not too good. These people do not have our trust and we must watch them closely. Lou, I agree; it was a nice hold with McConnell but he should not be the leader.

Peter, they did the same thing to Bush after they lost, all of a sudden they cared about minority rights. I am sure they will do it again this time as well but the Republicans must not fall fot this line again.

I left out one of the most important things we took care of by having a SENATE/HOUSE majority now. If there is a Supreme Court vacancy in the next two years, Obama will not be able to appoint an insane left-wing Justice with the assistance of a Democrat majority. One less thing we have to worry about, unless there are Republicans that want to see an extreme liberal placed in for a life long career. We are on the fence right now with Justice Kennedy being the swing vote, that is not very reassuring, is it?

Some good and realistic points Steve. Thanks for staying the sure course of thinking on this. The majority of Americans would like to see Obola and the rest ‘vetoed’. Liked your statement “languish in political purgatory”, how appropriate. The commie/global piranha regime has to be stop and kicked out of the American Gov. – and that’s where it would be nice if those in DHS leadership positions were true to the American Constitution rather than the Agenda one that purposed them into being. “Without Harry Reid” … now THAT’s a day brightener! To me he helps remind people what Hell’s all about.

My celebration is that we live to fight another day. Our Nation for all intent and purposes is on life support. Had we not gained the senate there was no way back IMO. The taking of many of the State elections gives us more hope that perhaps there is an awakening.
It took the Progressives 50 years to consume the Democrat party. I have a glimmer of hope that we may do the same. That same I am a realist.

But, Bunker, they so want to reach out to us, don’t worry about party affiliation, we should work together. Funny how things change, but still stay the same. I do not think for an instant, if they had taken the seats that the outcome would be the same. I believe it would be the in your face “I WON” again…and to get over it, we are in charge now.

I agree, this was a good victory and it bought us some time but we have to make sure we do not give it away again by doing the same things we have done in the past to blow elections.

BULLSH*T,BULLSH*T, BULLSH*T! I have only listened to 5-10 minutes of Obama and I cannot take anymore. He is committed to working for the next 2 years for the American people and working WITH the Republican party. He will work “relentlessly”, I believe he said, I wonder if that will trump the golf games and all the vacations he takes? As usual, no indication of himself being a problem, but he says it is time for them to take care of business! He is optimistic with Americas future, hmmm! He continues to believe we are more than red and blue states but United States, hmmm! So, I am not sure where the “I WON” went, but now he so wants to see bi-partisanship, hmmm! Ok. anyone else can add to it if you want, but I can see the Republicans buying what he is saying and they will try hard to work with this Administration. Guess I would like to see a little push back from them and maybe put this man in his place for once, along with Harry Reid. Can’t you just see Obama “reaching out” to the Republicans? Ya, right!

The credit is all mine? ha! I went back in for more and he was so wanting to be every day working for ALL the American people. He says we will be energy efficient and just pounds sunshine up our butts as to how wonderful American is. He will work with the Republicans, but guess I wonder why the closed door sessions and no meetings with McConnell or Boehner were ever held? Now he wants to sip Kentucky whiskey with McConnell and let Boehner beat him on the golf course,,,what a “regular guy” our President has become overnight. And there are people that will buy it totally. After all, he just wants to get along, haha! POS! That is what he is, I am going to have to have a shot of Bushmills to help soften what I just heard!!!! It was a fairy tale story at best and I don’t believe in fairy tales. He sure switched gears. He will NOT, however, NOT, I repeat sign any bill that would repeal Obamacare (ACA), never figured he would, but he slipped that in. And, he was smiling, but you could tell it was not a real smile. Have I said lately how I loath this man? This was the most insincere press conference I have seen to date by Obama. I do not think he meant any of it, just another cover up to buy them time til they can set something else in place….they were caught off guard with this big win.

Feel free to hash out what I’m stating here guys, but I have a picture in mind of what could come ahead and what I think needs to be done.
First, I do believe that with republicans in charge (if obama doesn’t just reject everything presented to him) that good things will ‘start’ to come. We’ll shift back to lower taxes, less regulations on business, and we could, that’s *could* see a pick of jobs, maybe start seeing some decent raises again. But it leaves us just as vulnerable to corporate/wallstreet//banking investor greed as always. So short term projection is good I think, long term not so good.
What I’d like to see is the republicans and the next non democratic president grow some brass ones and get rid of the fed. That will always be the biggest end to meet in my opinion. In addition, I’d like to see a complete restructuring of corporate taxes, remove whatever is in place (I don’t even know what’s there) and replace it with variables n1 and n2. N1 being a very comfortable tax rate for all businesses that have no exported jobs or industries, while n2 = twice the value of n1 for any business that does have exported jobs or industries (thank you very much nafta). The problem we have with business now is that investor greed is taking up everything that business is making, and they’re not happy with that either. But with, lets say business, paying 10% corporate taxes for those *all american” supplied jobs, and 20% taxes for all bussiness with export jobs, that’s going to level the playing field for American business if not going as far as forcing businesses with exported business to bring them back home.
Going even further I’d want to see ‘non ownership’ stocks offered only. Preventing company takeovers as well as keeping shareholders out of running the businesses as they’re all destroying the workforce keeping pay low and removing benefits so they (the investors) are making more…
Another issue of course is immigration, secure the borders, get rid of as many illegals as possible.
Hack away at it, but these are resolves I honestly feel that need to be done. Get rid of the fed is a must.
Winning the senate back, and even getting a non democratic president would be great. But it doesn’t mean a thing if we allow the cancer that’s destroying us financially to remain…

As far as auditing the fed??? Here’s what Bernanke had to say about that.. Pay close attention to how he answers the question, will it cause problems if the bill to audit the fed passes……. the question happens at the 1:29 mark. Watch the whole clip though, it’s less than 2 1/2 minutes…

Sonny, I do not know enough about the taxes, businesses and the banking you speak of. I will leave that up to someone that does to have their opinion. It sounds like you have put alot of thought into what you suggested. I would know enough to have an opinion, not a solution.
I do know that those we elected were elected to stop Obama and the Democrats from what they are trying to shove thru, not to compromise. If they compromise, we have lost and they have won. If anyone listened, once again Obama called what we have a “Democracy”, not a “Republic”, just a side note. Do you find that odd?
I am with you on the illegal immigration problem. Obama says he will legalize the “11 million” illegals here with his amnesty bill. Is there anyone here that believes we only have 11 million? So, what he is saying is legalizing ALL of them if he thinks there are only 11 million. I think there are 30-40 million, what do you think? In other words, legalize them all. What could go wrong with that?
He also will not ever pass any bill that wants to take apart Obamacare or repeal it. This is what most of the Republicans campaigned on, so if they cannot do that, are they failures and we are being set up for 2016 and the Democrats taking over then?
We are going to have to tread lightly in some areas, but stand our ground and prove we meant what we said to get the votes. Will we be able to do that?

I don’t have a lot of details Lou, just what I’ve been watching and reading over the last 15 years or so, which is when I realized we’re not doing things right. When we approved nafta, I went back to 92 when Ross Perot told us we were going to hear a great sucking sound of jobs as they left America. I didn’t understand the concept at the time, but what I noted over the years is that exactly what he said is what started happening. This is when I seriously started to pay attention to politics and who stood for what. I’ve worked in a few corporate environments, managing an IT department, having to answer to the company CFO taught me many many things as far as business goes. I’m not businesses minded but have a an idea of the basics. I know that ‘investors’ are killing jobs as they continue this “global” push to move work in other countries and they don’t care where they cut costs at to keep the standard business model in place which is 3% annual growth. Of which I’ve learned is impossible to do over an extended period of time. Businesses start locally, do well, then add more offices in other areas to support the new business. After a while it’s difficult to continuously move sales up every year, without expansion. So the company then attacks a nationwide model (which keeps the sales growth going). Then that starts to flatten over time and the only thing left, is global. And that costs money. A lot. (amazon and walmart are great examples of this) But the shareholders demand the growth continue. I don’t have an answer to the 3% growth each year, but I can tell you how much, and what they cut when they need additional funding… This is why I believe we don’t need to offer ownership shares of stock, but rather financial only. You buy stock, you get returns on that (dividends if it’s offered) and whatever you can make selling the stock later. Todays shareholders if invested enough, become members of “the board” and these are the people that are killing the companies. They demand high rates of return on their investment no matter who it hurts, and if they don’t see it, they pull their money out. They in essence tell business, how to do business, and it’s simply cut throat from start to finish. Same with the banks… they are under extreme pressure from foreign investors to keep the flow of money coming in. That’s why banks have turned into the ruthless fee applying monsters they are now. They have to not only keep the debt going, they have to keep increasing it.
The fed have been manipulation the worlds economies for hundreds of years. They just showed us (in black and white all out in the open) how they do it. 2 Months ago, the yen was trading the dollar at about 102. More recently it started trading at 97 as the fed kept pumping 85 billion a month into our stock market. Now, the fed has pulled the plug on QE here in the states, and has thus far printed about 17 billion in year, and contining on. What has it done? Well, all of a sudden yen is trading at 112 to the dollar. Problem solved here, but now Japan is in a mess. And Abe’s financial plan (prime minister of Japan) was actually working, and Japan was making a come back, until now. And as much as the ignorant believe that The Fed, or the Bank of Japan (central bank in Japan) gets authorization from it’s host country to do this, they don’t. Simple dog and pony in front of congress. We need to do this or we’ll suffer. Congress says ok, and here we all are. Central banks don’t answer to their host country, they run it. Abe didn’t even know the Bank of Japan was going to keep printing more money… hint hint… It’s all here in the news. Just have to find stay on top of what’s going on. Central banking has to go.
