Is there a rift between Barack Obama and Joe Biden over immigration reform?
Despite an election in which the voters rejected Barack Obama’s agenda, and despite the recent meeting the President held with Republican leadership, and despite his claim that he is willing to work with Republicans the President is still preparing to move on illegal immigration through Executive Order on his own.
According to this story something interesting happened during that meeting between the President and leaders of the Republican party: Barack Obama reportedly told the Republicans he was growing impatient and Joe Biden, of all people, tried to step in to have a conversation with the Republicans but was shut down by the President.
Here is how it supposedly went down:
The aide said at one point as House Speaker John Boehner was making an argument on immigration, Obama responded that his patience was running out and Vice President Joe Biden interrupted to ask how long Republicans needed. Obama angrily cut Biden off, the aide said.”
Mr. Obama told the lawmakers that he had already been patient waiting for the GOP-controlled House to act since the Senate passed a sweeping bipartisan immigration bill in June 2013.
At that point, Vice President Joe Biden asked how long Republicans might need to bring up an immigration bill, according to multiple people familiar with the meeting, asking if they might be ready by mid-February or another time this spring. Mr. Obama gave him a look that ended that line of discussion, the people said.
Do you remember after the 2008 election when Barack Obama told John McCain, “Let me just make this point, John, because we’re not campaigning anymore. The election’s over,” and do you remember when Barack Obama told Republicans that if they did not like his policies they should go out and win an election?
Yeah, so do I. Apparently Barack Obama is still not interested in working with Republicans so what happened? The Republicans won the election but seemingly the President no longer feels as if that matters…

He also seems to have conveniently forgotten the two years his party controlled both houses of congress and no immigration bill was brought up. Of course, I am against any kind of immigration bill that leads to amnesty. In my opinion, Obama will use his pin and phone to do what he wants because he knows it will start a fight withing the GOP.

I think that is his plan as well, he is going to do whatever he wants to and then he is going to let the Republicans fight among themselves, he is always one step ahead and he knows in the end the Republicans won’t do anything to stop him.

Obama has an agenda, the rest of us be damned! Maybe Biden is actually thinking past today to what his children and grandchildren will have to deal with. Maybe he is the smarter of the two! Wouldn’t that be a scary thought?

I couldn’t agree more! His Agenda has been pretty clear, I think, and it doesn’t really involve We The People. We are quickly becoming as a Police State in which we APEAR to be living in a democracy but in actuality we are nothing more than pons being played out for their schemes and agendas. Wakie-Wakie SHEEPLE!! IMHO….

Exactly Lorra! We have this illusion of ultimate freedom but more and more controls and regulations are being thrust upon us and when this happens we lose a little bit of liberty. It is the small encroachments which are dangerous because they are undetected, but they add up.

I’ts like the frog in the Kettle….Put a frog in boiling water and it will jump out because it knows the danger…However, put a frog in room temp water and gradually turn the heat up and it will slowly boil to death because it gets used to the water…Hmmmmm…

There are still those, Lorra, that think we have the best country in the world and we are FREE, I might agree with the best country part, but it has been down graded at that. We are surely pawns in the game this Administration is playing, but it didn’t just start with Obama, he has just moved it along faster. We are just the useful idiots that make the money for them to spend, that is all. I wish I had someone doing that for ME!

LOL! Yes, I could use someone doing that for me too! Welllll, not if the end result would be me behaving like them, God forbid…. 🙂

Once again: Exactly Lorra! The water may seem nice at first but eventually it will lead to the death of freedom and liberty if Americans do not climbb out of the pot.

Hopefully we can throw a little cold water in the pot and slow down the process!

Lou, if anything he is thinking about a possible presidential run and he knows he has to distance himself from Obama.

I am hoping that he has a conscience and is thinking about something other than a political position, I could be very wrong. I cannot see him as presidential material, but then again look what we have in there now!

I never thought he would be presidential material either, but it doesn’t get much worse than what we have now!

Bidden has never been more than a useful idiot for Oblama. The theory was that Bidden would bring experience and strong foreign affairs abilities. Look how useful that has been. Oblama sends Bidden to send up a trial balloon from time to time, but other than that, he have no use for uncle Joe.

Yeah, he was supposed to provide Obama with the experience he was lacking but when you refuse to listen to anyone but yes men it doesn’t matter what another brings to the table. (Providing we think Biden really had something to offer in the first place.)

That is like saying we have something wonderful in John Kerry with all of his vast experience. Neither one of them have experience except boarding a plane and flying somewhere to make as ass of themselves!

And they are pretty good at doing that! Sadly they make the whole country look foolish.

I can imagine what people in other countries think of US now. We, by default ARE our government.

Don’t forget Hill-a-beans Lou. The thing everyone says about her, and that is one of her biggest accomplishments is that she racked up the most miles of any secretary of state. To which I say, “at this point, what difference does it make?”.

Yes, we are the government. We elect these people to represent us so in the end we are responsible.

The rats are and will continue to leave the sinking ship. Most of them want some sort of future if only for a legacy. If only the military would have the moral fiber to stand up to Obama rather than have him force them out one by one.

I think Biden is thinking about 2016 and is starting to distance himself from Obama.

Given Obama’s lack of interest in staying within the law, I’d say the next two years will be the most dangerous.
Biden is an old politician, his default mode is deal making. When faced with crushing defeat, his interest was is seeing what could still be done.
Obama is still the community organizer, a pale copy of Al Sharpton. What he can’t get legitimately, he’s likely to get my deception and force.

I agree Jeff, Obama is wounded and he has nothing left to lose. That is a dangerous combination and there is no telling what he might try to pull over the next two years.
