John Boehner begins to exact his revenge on conservatives who voted against him for Speaker
As you are all well aware of by this point in time, John Boehner barely managed to hold onto to his position as Speaker. The result ended up being much closer than I thought it would be, but he managed to retain his title.
While driving to work this morning I heard a clip on the radio of one of Boehner’s allies–forgive me I did not catch his name–make a statement which went something like this, and I paraphrase; if you are going to kill the king you had better make sure he is dead.
If anyone out there heard the quote and knows this man’s name please let me know who it was so I can update this post.
Knowing John Boehner’s history of punishing conservatives who do not fall in line with the establishment I took that as a thinly veiled threat.
Now John Boehner is making good on that threat, he has begun exact his revenge on his conservative Republican opponents.
Here is more:
First up: Florida Reps. Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent. The pair will be booted from their spots on the House Rules Committee, according to sources familiar with the decision. Webster ran against Boehner (R-Ohio) for speaker Tuesday, and Nugent supported his fellow Floridian.
More punishment is likely to come for others that crossed Boehner, sources say.
In reality it looks as though the revenge started even before the vote was finalized:
The 114th Congress is barely underway, but Randy Weber, R-Texas, says he’s already paying a price for making known his intentions to vote against another term in leadership for Speaker John A. Boehner.
Weber, who backed the long-shot speakership bid of fellow Texan Rep. Louie Gohmert over Boehner, has been removed as the lead sponsor of a nuclear energy bill expected to brought to the floor in the 114th.
During a small meeting Tuesday of about 10 members of the Texas delegation to discuss the speaker’s race, Science, Space and Technology Chairman Lamar Smith, R-Texas, told Weber the speaker’s office had called and said Weber could not be the sponsor of that legislation, Weber told CQ Roll Call before the speaker vote this afternoon.
“You know, I’ve already been retaliated against. I’ve been taken off of a bill,” Weber said. ”The retaliation begins.”
John Boehner is denying this decision had anything to do with the vote but looking at recent history it seems hard to believe.
These men stood on principle, refusing to toe the party line and fought for what they believe in, and they knew they would be punished for opposing the establishment big government Republicans so I tip my hat to them. This is only the beginning…

Back in October he said what he intended and how he rigged it. “.Boehner threatens purge of member’s Committee seats if not supported.” He learned at the knee of Pelosi.

Yep, he told us what he was going to do so we should not be surprised that he is going to do it. I just wish he had as much courage when he goes against Obama as he does when he is fighting against the conservatives.

He is so dismissive of them. I have a clip I will post tomorrow that says it all. I never did figure the whole voting thing out. Not sure if it was better that so many Dems were missing or not. We only need 16 votes before so how the heck did we need so many more now?

As I have said several times, I don’t like any politician, but I was agnostic on Boehner, all I want is to win in 2016.
But todays vote only showed weakness and disorganization, and the left loves to jump on weakness.

I understand you concern but I think the best chance to win would be to return to conservatism and this was an opportunity lost. Although the media does not report it the Democrats have problems as well, the problem is they do a better job at PR than the Republicans and it does not hurt to have the media on your side.

If we really had elects ‘representing the American people’ Boner the Bonehead would be gone! The founding fathers, if it were possible, would feel like they’re at the amusement park on the whirly ride from rolling in their graves with what’s come to be. This again, just proves the depth of corruption and sickness. The very faces we don’t want in our vision while eating, are the very people the pervert and mentality ill shove into leadership positions. Insane. Shows the Shadow Gov. is ‘happy’ with their slot holders.

Well, disappointment is running rather high this morning, isn’t it? Bottom line, now we can see who actually was voting for us and who was not. It was a surprise when I saw some of the names that wanted him as speaker, again. We knew that he would start slashing and burning members on committees, that was expected and STILL there were those that went to bat for US! This is all a game for the Democrats and now we see our party members pulling the same crap, makes you proud, doesn’t it? I had one of the “Spans” on later last night and they were showing the swearing in ceremony where Boehner stands with the new Representatives and families for a photo op, I actually felt the same way looking at him as I do when I see Obama, disgust, I imagine there are alot of people out there right now that feel like I do. You know they can still remove him for his Speaker position, but after a 2nd try, could you blame anyone for not trying a 3rd time? Guess we now have an even bigger YES man in position than he was before, I would say he has been fortified with enough sunshine shoved up his butt that he will feel he can do anything. Then we pass it to McConnell who SO wants to work with Obama to find that common ground, yep, we are screwed!

I am a little disappointed but not surprised. What disappoints me more than anything is the lost of names who supported him–Mia Love is the name that comes to mind. In the end I guess they are all on the same page regardless of what they tell us.

You know, some of the news channels were saying that we needed 16 more votes, NO we needed 4 more ro have 29. That was pretty close. But now Boehner is going to punish them, his OWN party….don’t you think if it was one of us that was in his position, we might just stop and think maybe we were not doing what we should be doing and let someone else take control for awhile? Guess that is the difference between us and HIM, he has lost sight of what is important for the benefit of money and fame. Pretty sad individual, if you ask ME!

John Boehner for Speaker of the House. It wasn’t enough to defeat him, but it doubled
the number of Republicans who opposed him two years ago and it was the largest
revolt against a Speaker within a party in over 100 years.

I encouraged RODNEY DAVIS, my Representative, to vote for anyone other than Boehner, guess he had his ears closed. Guess I will not be voting for him next time around, not that it will matter by then. So much for WE the People being in charge, if they won’t listen to us, there is no one that will punish them at this point. They will do as they please and WE will pay their salaries, sounds fair, doesn’t it?

Does this bring to mind: “Payback time.” To me it connects too w/ Bill’s Ayers thoughts about ‘re-education or die philosophy’ (Gates Eugenics). Boner’s in the same den as these others. No ‘Pay it forward’ giving, rather ‘debt enslavement’ in accordance w/ his friend, “Voting is the best revenge,” (fraud prez stated to draw his follows in, giving them a sense of ‘being a part of this this Progressive Amerika’). Even though: There were More than 560,000 letters to GOP congressmen to oust the ‘tool of our enemy’ Boner (WND); those holding seats of control disrespect and ignore ‘we the people’ voice. We are seeing and witnessing something that won’t be fixed normally, without some inside ‘Pro-American Freedom Agents.’

I read that alot of those letters did not make it to the House, why? For our own party to turn against us, well, I will have to rethink IF I want to remain registered as a Republican. This has really hit me hard, it was bad enough when Obama got in the second time. I kept thinking we will get control of this, we will get control of this, now who the hell knows! I thought when we took control of the Senate AND House that we were on the right track, now do we even know where that right track is?

I have often thought about leaving the Republican party and in fact I tried, with other to create the New Federalist Party but we could not get off the ground. The system is rigged to prevent a serious third party and if one ever emerges the Democrats and the Republicans will join together to bring it down.

Isn’t there an actual Conservative Party? Seems that I heard it somewhere. I was disappointed to see the Freshmen fall right in line with the RINO’s, guess they did not want to disappoint…problem is, they were sent there because WE thought they would be different,,,guess we got fooled, once again. Maybe we need to run, would be more money, less work and sounds like we could probably do a better job. Wouldn’t you like to get one on one with Boehner and tell him what you think of his strong arming he HAD to have done to alot of people to flip them? You KNOW he did, they were probably on the phone calling in favors, OR making threats, whatever would work to get the vote. Sounds alot like another party we know, doesn’t it? The problem is, Boehner will do that to his own party members, but will cower when it comes to Obama and the Democrats going after him, what a piece of shit….sorry!

No Lou, there isn’t. The entire political spectrum has shifted left. As Dennis Prager says, what HAD been a traditional Democrat is now a republican, and what is now a Democrat is really a socialist. As we know, this is due to the radical lefts control of education, politics, the courts, and the media. There was an all out effort from all sides to kill the Tea Party.
So that is why we much deal with the reality we have, let the Boehner thing go, and as William Buckley Jr. said used to say, we need the most conservative person WE CAN GET ELECTED.

Yeah Lou, I wish Boehner would stand up to Obama and the Democrats with as much passion as he has in fighting the conservatives, but that fact that he doesn’t shows us where his true intentions lie–he is a big government Republican.
