Is Harry Reid involved in the Bob Menendez corruption scandal?
Let us see if we can connect a few dots tonight: New Jersey Democratic Senator Bob Menendez has been indicted by the Department of Injustice on Federal corruption charges stemming from his relationship with Dr. Salomon Melgen. Because Bob Menendez is a card-carrying liberal a conspiracy theory was soon spawned; the Obama regime was seeking retribution against the Senator from New Jersey because he spoke out publicly against the President’s policies on both Cuba and Iran.
At this point Harry Reid enters the picture: just two days after a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report found that Harry Reid used his position of power to pressure Homeland Security to expedite visas to a client his son was representing the Senator from Nevada announced he was going to retire and would not seek reelection in 2016.
One Senator is facing indictment and the other is not, but is there a connection which is being ignored? And if so what could that connection be?
The connection appears to be none other than Dr. Salomon Melgen, here is more:
In its indictment of Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Dr. Salomon Melgen, a Florida opthalmologist, the Department of Justice cites Melgen’s $600,000 donation to Senator Harry Reid’s (D-NV) Senate Majority PAC in 2012. That money, the feds charge, was earmarked for the successful re-election of Menendez, and was part of “hundreds of thousands of dollars and contributions to entities that benefitted MENENDEZ’s 2012 Senate campaign, in exchange for specific requested exercises of MENENDEZ’s official authority.”
The indictment makes no mention of the additional $100,000 Melgen contributed to the Senate Majority PAC a mere two weeks before Reid arranged an August 2, 2012 meeting among himself, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, and Menendez.
At that meeting, Menendez advocated directly to Secretary Sebelius on behalf of Melgen’s appeal of an HHS finding that he owed $8.9 million for overbilling Medicare in 2007 and 2008. That advocacy, the indictment charges, was the influence Melgen received from Menendez in return for his $600,000 contribution to Reid’s Senate Majority PAC.
If Melgen’s $600,000 contribution to Senate Majority PAC was an illegal quid-pro-quo between Melgen and Menendez, does it not stand to reason that Melgen’s $100,000 contribution to the same Senate Majority PAC was an illegal quid-pro-quo between Melgen and Reid in which the influence Melgen received was Reid’s arrangement of and participation in the August 2, 2012 meeting attended by Reid, Sebelius, and Menendez?
On the surface it sure does appear as if there is a connection between Bob Menendez, Harry Reid, and Salomon Melgen. Yet Harry Reid, who is not only a card-carrying liberal but also a water carrier for the Obama regime, is not facing the prospect of indictment as far as we know, while Bob Menendez, who spoke out against Barack Obama’s foreign policy, is facing indictment even though they both have connections to the man at the heart of this scandal.
In my opinion this makes it look even more likely that Bob Menendez is being persecuted for political reasons by a President who does not look kindly on those that dare to oppose him.
Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

We can only hope and pray a connection is found and that Dingy Harry goes out in the disgrace he deserves. But that connection will never be found by the Dept of Injustice will it? And if found, it won’t be prosecuted will it Louis?

Unfortunately you are right. Like Lerner, Reid was on critical in helping Obama push his agenda so nothing will happen no matter how strong the evidence might be.

I’d like to offer just one additional perspective … Sebelius was all about one thing – it’s not “happenstance” that Obama is known for the same thing, which fits the mold of all liberal Democrats … abortion!
There are few greater sins than killing the innocent ones; scripture is clear; this is not just another ‘holocaust’; this is at the core of our nation’s most egregious sin . . .
