Harry Reid admits Mitt Romney paid his taxes

April 8, 2015

We all remember during the 2012 Presidential election when Harry Reid took to the Senate floor and emphatically stated the following:

“As we know, he has refused to release his tax returns. If a person coming before this body wanted to be a Cabinet officer, he couldn’t be if he had the same refusal Mitt Romney does about tax returns,” Reid said. “So the word is out that he has not paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove he has paid taxes, because he has not.”

He went on to state that he would not take back the claim and he also said that because he levied the charges it was not up for him to prove the statement was true but rather it was up to Mitt Romney to prove it was not true. This, of course, is not the way it is supposed to work: if a person levies a claim against a person it is up to the person making the claim to prove it is true otherwise it amounts to, in my opinion, libel.

Recently Harry Reid was asked about this and he had no remorse, here is what he had to say:

“They can call it whatever they want. Romney didn’t win did he?

Call it whatever you want because it was mission accomplished by any means necessary and he does not give a damn what anybody thinks of him or his devious tactics.

Even more recently Harry Reid admitted that Mitt Romney did indeed pay his taxes in the years he claimed he did not, here is more:

Of course he paid taxes. What he didn’t do is let us see his tax returns.”

This is an admission that Harry Reid took to the Senate floor and lied about a Presidential candidate to push his political agenda and yet he still has no regrets and refuses to apologize for this underhanded tactic.

Reid said, “I have no repentance, because it was an issue that was important,” adding there is “zero” chance of an apology.

I am going to pull no punches here because this exemplifies everything that is wrong in Washington in a nutshell: Harry Reid is a corrupt scumbag who will do or say whatever is required, up to and including lying on the Senate floor, in order to ensure the Democrats stay in power because the end justifies the means…

    I agree.

He is and always has been a jerk! People like him never change. I would not expect him to apologize, it is not in his nature. He got the doubt put in peoples minds and that is what he was striving for, sad that there were people that believed him.

Exactly Lou, he said what he said because he knew what would happen. He knew people would not care if he could not prove it and he also knew that nothing would happen to him so I guess we really cannot blame him for trying.

Your so right Lou. I, for one, have had just about enough of this goof-ball. Time to give the American people a break and drop from the media spot-light Reid. Stick a fork in him…he’s so done!

Lorra, he is what gives politicians a bad name, well Reid and alot of others just like him. You cannot blame them for doing what they are allowed to do, I guess. If people did not re-elect them again and again, they would not be able to do their damage, so it is the voters that are to blame for what this country has become.

You are so right Lou, the reason people like Reid get away with what they do is because we let them!

What SHOULD come of this is that the people of Nevada should suffer the repercussions of this. What I mean by that is that there should be a boycott of Vegas – the people there elected this scumbag (thanks for appropriately calling him that) and foisted him onto the entire nation. Pick another location to have fun in; Nevadans screwed us all b electing this jerk!

Doing that wouldn’t hurt him only those trying to make a living there. Be better to have him get beat-up a bit more and sign a confession of all his ill-doings – give back to those he stole from and go to prison. Those working for the unions are told, ‘you will vote for Reid or else.’

No doubt in my mind there is a connection between the beating he took and his decision to retire, wouldn’t you love to know who beat him up and for what reason?!

Better yet for him to confess! Unless he has a ‘change’ of heart and mind that won’t happen. Since he’s been at this shell game for so long I wonder what ‘retirement’ has in store for him. I don’t if he’ll go fishing or things like that! Probable doing the same thing from a different office.

Obama did tell people they shouldn’t go Vegas before so maybe it is time for the people to take him up on that offer…

You’re right that Nevada, and the Dems in general need to pay a price.(too bad we will splinter and give Hill-a-beans the next election) but I have the perfect punishment of Nevada.
It’s a win-win! Nevada gets something they don’t want (like we got Harry) and the US gets a safe solution to our spent nuclear fuel.

Of course your analysis of Dirty Harry is correct, but those Dem Senators that gave him the power and continue to support him are worse.
