Black Lives Matter activists interrupt Hillary Clinton event over past her racist comments
Last night Hillary Clinton held a fundraising event which was disrupted by two Black Lives Matter protesters who wanted the former Secretary of State to explain some racist comments she made while she was the First Lady.
Here is more:
Two Black Lives Matter activists interrupted a private Hillary Clinton fundraising event Wednesday night in Charleston, South Carolina.
Youth activist Ashley Williams protested Clinton, demanding that the Democratic presidential candidate account for inconsistencies on her record on race, specifically around her comments made about crime in 1996.
As Clinton spoke to the crowd, Williams stood to her side and held a sign quoting controversial statements made in 1996 when she said “we have to bring them to heel” in reference to at-risk youth.
Williams said when Clinton paused and looked at her sign, she then asked the former secretary of state to apologize to black people for mass incarceration. The mostly white audience yelled at Williams and told her she was being rude.
“I wanted to bring her to confront her own words,” Williams told The Huffington Post after the protest, adding, “We did this because we wanted to make sure that black people are paying attention to her record, and we want to know what Hillary we are getting.”
Of course “at-risk youth” is a dog-whistle for “black youth” and by saying they needed to “bring them to heel” is obviously in reference to training them to submit to their masters like dogs. She also called them “super predators.”
This brings to mind the Presidential race of 2008 when in South Carolina Bill Clinton famously quipped “a few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags.” Another racially tinged statement from the Clinton’s.
I had not heard the aforementioned Hillary Clinton comment so I did a little research and here it is:
Is there any doubt about what she was implying there? I do not think so and neither do these two Black Lives Matter protesters: this was coded racism pure and simple and it is a far worse comment than I can remember any Republican uttering in recent years for which they were branded racists. Sure, it is not as bad as some of the things fellow Democratic Senator Robert Byrd said or did, but it is up there…

No and I believe that she has really forgotten all that she has said…so much for being the most intelligent FEMALE in the world. I bet there will be more surfacing about her in the very near future. This campaign is going to be a vicious, nasty campaign, unlike any we have seen in the past. Did any of us ever, in our life times expect to see this kind of backstabbing going on? I thought that Obama and his elections were bad, but I doubt we have seen anything yet. Hope you have your popcorn ready, it should be interesting.

She has been in the spotlight for years so there is much material to work with and it will get ugly. I think you are right, she cannot possibly remember everything she has said so I guess we will have to remind her!

The problem is, surface or not, the media will down play it and run interference for her for all they are worth! At this point, to me, the media has no credibility!
