Black Lives Matter accuse Senate Democrats of ‘soft bigotry’ for their lack of staff diversity

December 7, 2016

Chalk this story up in the deliciously ironic category.

For eight years the Democrats have been accusing Republican leaders and their supporters of racism because they opposed Barack Obama’s policies. And the rhetoric has only gotten worse during the latest Presidential election cycle which culminated in Donald Trump’s win. Donald Trump and his supporters have been called racists, white supremacists, and Hillary Clinton went so far as to call them a “basket of deplorables.”

After just three cabinet nominations Politico ran an article saying white men dominated his staff selections. (It is interesting to note that Donald Trump has been in the public eye his entire adult life and was not once called a racist until he ran against the anointed Democratic candidate.)

Of course throughout this time the Democrats have portrayed themselves as being the party of diversity and equal opportunity so you can imagine my surprise to learn when it comes to the leadership in the Democratic party they do not always practice the diversity they speak of.

This has not been lost on Black Lives Matter as this group is claiming top Democrats are guilty of “soft bigotry.” Here is more:

Senate Democrats are facing growing pressure to break the white male stranglehold on senior staff positions in their ranks — a push that’s uniting consultants and lobbyists inside the Beltway with Black Lives Matter and other minority leaders who are accusing the party of “soft bigotry.”

Frustrations over the lack of diversity among the ranks of top Senate Democratic aides began seeping into public view after Hillary Clinton’s stunning loss deprived the party’s donors and lobbyists of a critical opening to build on the Obama administration’s minority-hiring efforts. Now, activists are shaming Senate Democrats, noting that the chamber’s only African-American chief of staff works for Republican Sen. Tim Scott. And civil rights groups are holding a public conference call on Thursday to escalate their campaign for more diverse hiring by newly elected senators.

It’s not just the chief of staff disparity — minorities are under-represented throughout the ranks of Senate staffers.

The Democrats like minorities but apparently not enough to appoint them to leadership positions…

This is not the first time (although you would not know it if you only follow the mainstream media) Black Lives Matter has had a problem with the Democratic Party: Black Lives Matter protested Hillary Clinton at a campaign event for using a dog whistle to call black youths “super predators” which needed to be brought “to heel” while she was the First Lady.

Surely the NBA and NFL have set the standard for inclusion. While blacks are +/- 12% of the population they make up over 90% of the players. Now that’s equality…Say it loud I’m white and I’m intimidated…

Nothing worse than a bunch of Lying Hypocrites – maggots (going along with the thought yesterday of the Lord of the Flies)! in positions of power or bent on obtaining power and control by any means possible. Categorizing them for ‘what they are’ presents a clearer and more realistic perspective of reality – not falling for their ‘illusions and deceptions’!
    Glad this is being aired!
