Hillary Clinton might have trouble wooing Sanders supporters in the general election

March 2, 2016

According to this article there is a growing grassroots effort among the supporters of Bernie Sanders to convince other supporters of the Senator from Vermont to not vote for Hillary Clinton in the general election if she is the nominee. Here is more:

The movement is called “Bernie or Bust,” and it means just that: If Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont loses the Democratic presidential nomination, a group of his supporters will either write in his name in the general election or consider casting their ballot for a Republican.

The one thing they certainly won’t do: Vote for Hillary Clinton.

More than 50,000 people already have signed up at the Revolt Against Plutocracy, pledging to vote for the Green Party candidate in the general election or write in Mr. Sanders’ name if Mrs. Clinton wins the Democratic nomination. Other groups, such as Grassroots Action for Bernie, are taking to social media, using Facebook and Twitter to try to get the “Bernieorbust” hashtag trending.

Even Sanders supporters not tied to the movement, or unaware of its existence, seem to agree with its principles, making one thing clear: The Democratic National Committee and Mrs. Clinton will have a hard time attracting many of Mr. Sanders’ voters.

Of course this mentality is nothing new; people make this claim at about this point in every election when it becomes apparent that their candidate will not win. I said the same thing in 2008 and 2012 but did not follow through on it and I am making the same claim today.

However this could be different because many of Bernie Sanders’ supporters justifiably feel slighted because of the manner in which the Democratic party has used its superdelegates to almost ensure that Hillary Clinton wins the nomination. The revolt has already started so this could be the next logical step in sending the party a big middle finger. The other problem for the former Secretary of State is the fact that she simply is not a likable person and does not motivate people to vote for her but rather they are voting for the party and if they feel as if the party ignored their will they may ignore the party.

This could be interesting to watch play out as we move forward.

Remember the words of the great Dr Michael Savage: Liberalism is a mental disorder, and with that in mind (pun intended) one must believe there is no way they vote republican. They should have little trouble replacing one commie with another.

I don’t see them voting Republican either but maybe if Bloomberg gets in they will cast a protest vote for him.

I don’t think they can relate to Hillary personally. Maybe its my projection, but once they have a hero, she comes across as hollow I think. I recall getting on the Reagan wagon. It would have been such a let down to have to switch my loyalty.Other elections, not so much.

I agree, I think many of them see her as trying to be like Sanders to get elected but don’t really trust that is who she is. Especially with the speeches to GS and the whole “dead broke” thing she simply cannot connect.

You would think there would be more than Bernie supporters who would not vote for Hillary. What happened to the anti war supporters or the anti 1% group. And the black vote is pathetic. Some of them should be Bernie supporters – more social welfare programs. Many of the Democrats are pissed at Obama and they support Hillary who will only continue along the same path.

This is going to be one hell of an election. Republicans voting for Hillary and Democrats voting for Trump. But I am sure the RNC will cut off their d***’s to stop Trump and screw themselves in the process. If they do carry through with their plan good riddance Republican Party! Everyone that stands for liberty should quit the party!

It sure is shaping up to be one heck of a ride! I think this might just be the beginning of the trouble with Bernie supporters abandoning Hillary, but we will have to wait and see.
