Bernie Sanders supporters ‘revolt’ against the superdelegates

February 15, 2016

superdelegatesAfter the results in Iowa which had Hillary Clinton winning the caucuses after miraculously winning six coin tosses in a row and the accusations that some delegates were wrongly allotted, and after the blowout loss in the New Hampshire primary which saw the former Secretary of State awarded the same amount of delegates as the Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders supporters are none to happy. And they should not be because when this is coupled with the news that the Democratic National Committee quietly changed the fundraising rules in an apparent attempt to help Hillary Clinton and it certainly looks as if the Democratic establishment is doing all that it can to make sure Bernie Sanders is not the nominee.

But it is the issue of these superdelegates which have Bernie Sanders’ supporters the most upset because these are party insiders who have already pledged to support a candidate at the national convention and they do not have to follow the will of the people or the results of the vote in the state they are representing. Currently Hillary Clinton has the pledges of about 360 of these superdelegates while Bernie Sanders has 8.

It now appears as if Bernie Sanders’ supporters have had enough and, as this article puts it, are beginning to “revolt” against the system, here is more:

Bernie Sanders lost by a hair in Iowa and won by a landslide in New Hampshire. Yet Hillary Clinton has amassed an enormous 350-delegate advantage over the Vermont senator after just two states.

Outraged by that disconnect – which is fueled by Clinton’s huge advantage with Democratic superdelegates, who are not bound by voting results – Sanders supporters are fighting back.

Pro-Sanders threads on Reddit have been burning up with calls for action, with some supporters even reaching out to superdelegates (who are typically Democratic governors, members of Congress, and top state and national party leaders) to lobby them on the Vermont senator’s behalf.

And there is more, even MoveOn.org, which was created to defend the Clinton’s back in the day, is getting involved:

Progressive groups are also taking a stand: There are currently two petition campaigns designed to urge superdelegates to reflect the popular vote, rather than the sentiment of party elites.

In one of them, MoveOn.org activists are targeting undecided and committed Hillary Clinton superdelegates with a clear message: wait until all the votes are counted before throwing support behind a candidate.

The effort, which will begin this week after MoveOn.org polls its supporters to pick which superdelegates to petition first, comes amid growing criticism from Sanders supporters who complain that the game is rigged in the former secretary of state’s favor.

  And more still:

A second petition by three progressive groups asks superdelegates to “announce that in the event of a close race, you’ll align yourself with regular voters – not party elites.” That petition, which grew by 10,000 signatures between Friday and Sunday, had 171,010 signatures Sunday, with a stated goal of 175,000.

I guess they just don’t make “revolts” like they used to but I cannot help but smile every time I think of the irony of hearing Bernie Sanders supporters, of all people, complaining that one candidate got something given to her that the other candidate earned through his own hard work. Surely they see the irony in all of this, don’t they?

The same group that puts pillows over people’s faces when they’re sleeping?
OT: “We discovered the judge in bed, a pillow over his head. His bed clothes were unwrinkled,” said Poindexter.
‘Scalia was found dead by none other than ranch owner JOHN POINDEXTER, you know, the Iran/Contra guy. What could possibly be amiss with that??’ [Why would he bring up the pillow?] Even Drudge Report is highlighting it! AGAIN there seems to be a division in what’s going on w/ the ‘powers’- is there fracturing going on or just a power grab game?
‘But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.’ Luke 11:17 (significant #’s in numerology).
“Now we need to know the background on the Cibolo creek vacation ranch, including the owner, to see how connected it might be to forces that might want Scalia offed [occult / political]. The story does not wash, I do not buy casual pillows over heads when important people are dead.”
“If the political ramifications are all that are considered, the death is suspicious because it will allow Obama to appoint someone new (I will not say a new justice) because there will not be any, there will only almost certainly be a new flood of evil.”
That with the oncoming global financial collapse – the evils that be are re-setting the stage.(My SA site & Jim Stone)

I read another story about how he was found with a pillow over his head and his clothes not wrinkled as well! It makes you wonder…

A correction to the affiliation of the Resort owner John Poindexter IS NOT w/ the Iran/Contra – that’s a different one. This one has 2 pics of shaking hands w/ Bari the fraud prez. The situation still questionable though.

Yeah, there are still many unanswered questions and it looks like they will never be answered.

Maybe. What’s interesting is that the family didn’t want an autopsy. That too is suspicious. Maybe they were threatened – doesn’t that go with the flow of this Regime?

It is odd that the family did not want an autopsy, maybe it was because they didn’t want to be in the spotlight but maybe you are right…
