Hillary Clinton and Bill de Blasio perform racist skit at the New York City Press Dinner
Over the weekend Hillary Clinton and Bill de Blasio decided it would he a good idea to perform a racially tinged skit at the New York City Press Dinner. Here is how it went down:
“I just have to say thanks for the endorsement, Bill. Took you long enough,” Clinton said jokingly to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“Sorry, Hillary, I was running on C.P. time,” de Blasio responded to the deafening sound of gasps from the audience.
“Hamilton” star Leslie Odom Jr., who is black, responded to de Blasio by saying, “I don’t like jokes like that.”
“Cautious politician time,” Hillary said, going along with the joke.
To be honest I never heard the term “C.P. time” before but it was clear the audience knew what it meant and did not approve. After the firestorm which followed Hillary Clinton did what you would expect her to do and threw Bill de Blasio under the bus by claiming “it was Mayor de Blasio’s skit” but of course she knew what the skit was when she agreed to do it and she had the prepared followup line ready to go. She is not innocent.
For the life of me I cannot understand how she thought this skit was a good idea–I guess we can chalk it up to the type of questionable judgement which should disqualify her from the Presidency–especially following the video which recently surfaced of her calling young black people “super predators” and said they need to “bring them to heel” while she was the First Lady. And also following the video which surfaced where she was praising former KKK leader Robert Byrd…
Hillary Clinton has a history of racially charged comments which are finally coming to light as we head into the all-important New York primary and with Bernie Sanders surging in the state this could be what puts him over the top.
