Sunday, May 1st open thread: ‘Where Did you Sleep Last Night?’
Here is the open thread for Sunday, May 1st. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
Last week we discussed 8 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.
In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

That’s a strange one Swiss. Although they did show (foresee) what was planned, none of good rather the evil desire and power over mankind.
“The Prisoner” is a unique piece of television. It addresses issues such as personal identity and freedom, democracy, education, scientific progress, art and technology, while still remaining an entertaining drama series. Over seventeen episodes we witness a war of attrition between the faceless forces behind ‘The Village’ (a Kafkaesque community somewhere between Butlins and Alcatraz) and its most strong willed inmate, No. 6. who struggles ceaselessly to assert his individuality while plotting to escape from his captors.”
Hadn’t seen it before, creepy!

Doing ok! Have my laptop back, so am able to post again (some people may have wished otherwise)! Gearing up for the grandsons coming, so stocking up on “boy stuff” for them to do. I have a closet that they head to when they get here, haha! I want my boys to WANT to come visit and we try and get out each day and go somewhere fun. Other than that, have the rentals keeping me busy. Hope you are feeling better!

How Wartime Washington Lives in Luxury
Meet the new class profiting from the growth of the national-security state.

Can we ever be rid of these leeches? They are worse than the welfare crowd! Lawyers need to be the first group to be replaced if there is a reset.

“People hate Washington but they don’t really know why,” says Mike Lofgren, a longtime Beltway inhabitant and arch critic of its culture. But show them what is underneath the dignified facades—particularly the greed and excess financed by the overgrown military-industrial complex—and the populist resentment recently harnessed by insurgent candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders just might have a concrete grievance that can drive real change.
I think that really sums it all up right there!

The early returns in this attempt to appease a very small group of people has not been good as Target’s stock has fallen 5% since it instituted this policy. Thanks for sharing.

ADL request Trump to stop using the slogan “America First” because they deem it to be anti Semitic. America First was the anti war movement of the 1930’s led by Charles Lindbergh which they claim was anti Semitic. Unfortunately Lindbergh was right we should have stayed out of WWII. Churchill manipulated Roosevelt into the war and we have been living with the consequences ever since.
I know Alex is a little over the top, but the ADL is beyond the pale.

Yes Alex Jones can be over the top but many times he is spot on and this is one of those cases.

It’s particularly interesting to note that yesterday in a press interview Mrs. Jane Sanders, the candidate’s wife, made it clear that Bernie supporters won’t simply fall in line with Hillary Clinton if he (Bernie) doesn’t get the nomination.. Suggesting that basically none of Sanders’ supporters would vote for Hillary, and that even if Hillary tries to woo them, only a small number will in the end support the Democratic ticket.
This effort may damage the Democratic party, and set back progressive movement to elect Hillary.
In the end, Bernie and Jane Sanders are playing a bit fast and loose with their talk. While Bernie promises to support the ultimate Democratic candidate, Jane goes off and suggests that Sanders’ supporters won’t be as magnanimous. It’s a cute passive-aggressive way for the Sanders to have their cake and eat it too. They can claim to be above the fray and support the party’s candidate, while at the same time knifing her in the back, and the entire progressive cause in the process

Maybe Hilly will just ask him to be V.P. to satisfy his supporters.
