CNN misquotes Donald Trump’s comment about ‘profiling’

September 20, 2016

CNN did not get the moniker (does that sound too close to Monica?) of being the Clinton News Network back in the day for no reason and in recent weeks the network is reminding how they got it in the first place.  In the aftermath of last weekend’s terrorist attacks in New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota Donald Trump called for “profiling” as a means to prevent these ever-increasing attacks. This is what Donald Trump said:

“In Israel they profile, they’ve done an unbelievable job, as good as you can do,” Trump said. “They profile. They see somebody that is suspicious, they will profile, they will take that person in, they’ll check out. Do we have choice? Look what’s going on? Do we really have a choice? … This is only going to get worse.”

When CNN covered Donald Trump’s remarks they quoted him as calling for “racial profiling” even though that is not what he said. It goes without saying at this point that Islam is not a race, it is a religion, but that did not stop CNN from running with it in an obvious attempt to stoke up the left in general and the #blacklivesmatter movement in particular at a time when it is politically expedient to do so and racial tensions are high.

When a journalist, or even a small time blogger like myself, uses quotation marks to quote somebody verbatim special attention is expected to ensure the quote is accurate–or at least it should be–yet CNN purposely added something to Donald Trump’s quote which did not belong there. If you are paraphrasing you should not use quotation marks, this is journalism 101. CNN has to know this, right…

Supporters of Hillary Clinton will claim that this is no big deal because it still portrays the essence of what Donald Trump stated, and I honestly was not going to write a post about this until I remembered the lengths this so-called news network has gone to in recent weeks to discredit the Republican nominee using dishonest reporting.

This could be written off as a simple mistake if it were not for the fact that in recent weeks CNN has conveniently lost its feed when a reporter started to criticize Hillary Clinton’s record, and during an interview with a baby saving hero mistakenly blurred out his pro-Trump shirtAnd most recently, before this episode, while attacking Donald Trump for calling the aforementioned terrorist attack a bombing edited an interview with Hillary Clinton when she gave almost the exact same response as did Donald Trump under the guise of time constraints

But this is nothing new, who can forget that time, due to a so-called technical malfunction, CNN ran an interview with Dick Cheney with a black X over his face?

CNN, and the rest of the mainstream media for that matter, is no longer in the business of reporting the news because they are in the business of selling a product. The only difference now is that they are no longer trying to appear impartial.

The question is what is Hillary threatening them with via the FCC. Then there are the family issues. I have forgotten what they are but I know there is only one degree of separation.

Very interesting question, I do not doubt Hillary has made it very clear to them she will have control of the FCC…
I didn’t know there was a family connection.

Funny how CNN along with the other MSM outlets have become nothing more than propaganda organizations like Pravda. Fortunately there are alternatives – ordinary people using YouTube, Twitter, facebook and the web.

Yes they are trying to control these new information sources, but that is likely to fail as determined individuals find new ways to bypass the established system.

As a side note the Washington Times reported in 1999 Bill Clinton approved profiling of Hispanics by Arkansas State Police as part of a drug interdiction program in 1988.

David Seaman is a former HuffnPuff contributor who was let go by them because he questioned Hillary’s health

How sad is it that we have to go to British news sites to find out what is really going on?!
