The mainstream media is in full meltdown mode over Donald Trump’s ‘Wrestlemania’ Tweet

July 2, 2017

Before I get to the substance of this post I would like to reiterate my position that I believe it is time for Donald Trump to stop Tweeting and get back to the business of running the country without these self-inflicted distractions.

As you probably already know by now, earlier today the President Tweeted out a video where he attacks a CNN reporter aka WWE Wrestlemania style. In the interest of writing this post I just watched the video and it reaffirms my position that Donald Trump needs to stop this at once. This might play well with his base but it is not helpful to his agenda.

Having said that I am struck by the mainstream media’s duplicity when it comes to people and their rhetoric inciting violence. The mainstream media is in full meltdown mode, here is some of what they are saying:

ABC News’ chief political analyst Matthew Dowd claimed Trump is “advocating violence against media” and demanded Republican leaders “put country over party” in response to the fake video of fake wrestling.

“Around the world, journalists are murdered with impunity on a regular basis,” Poynter managing editor Ben Mullin gravely stated. “This isn’t funny.”

ABC News’ Martha Raddatz took the fake video seriously in an interview with Homeland Security adviser Thomas Bossert. “That seems like a threat,” Raddatz asserted. “No one would perceive that as a threat,” Bossert replied.

The Washington Post headlined its news coverage of the tweet, “Trump appears to promote violence against CNN with tweet.” WaPo reporter David Nakamura wrote: “A day after defending his use of social media as befitting a ‘modern day’ president, President Trump appeared to promote violence against CNN in a tweet.”

Atlantic editor David Frum similarly took the president’s tweet to mean that he was encouraging violence against the media.

New York Magazine writer Frank Rich called the president’s tweet “insanity” and “an attempt that might be successful to drum up violence against journalists.”

MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin suggested that the fake video proved wrong deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ statement that “The president in no way, form, or fashion has ever encouraged any form of violence.” Numerous other journalists on Twitter expressed similar sentiments about the fake video.

“This is sick. This is disturbing. This is pathological. This is violent. This is reckless. This is authoritarian,” wrote Mother Jones editor David Corn, who is also an MSNBC analyst.

CNN released a statement which in part said, “instead he is involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office. We will keep doing our jobs. It is time he does his.”

I happen to agree with the CNN statement: this is juvenile and below the dignity of his office but I would like to know where all these news outlets were when violence was actually committed in the wake of Kathy Gifford posing with the severed head of Donald Trump and the Shakespeare in the Park play where Donald Trump was executed.

I would like to know where the mainstream media was when Snoop Dogg shot a Trump lookalike in a music video which was probably made by throwing a great list of USB mics for recording it. I would like to know where the mainstream media was when Madonna said she thought about blowing up the White House, or when Marilyn Manson killed the President in a music video, or Larry Wilmore joked about suffocating Donald Trump “with the same pillow they used to kill Scalia,” or when Stephen Colbert showed Donald Trump’s head on a spike. The full list of leftists calling for violence can been seen here.

All of these examples could be seen as inciting violence and yet the mainstream media was silent for obvious reasons and that bothers me.

It saddens me, NAY!, it sickens me to see that we have reached this point in regards to politics in America and I hope and I pray that nobody else will act on the rhetoric which is coming out of Washington DC and Hollywood but I am fearful it will happen again.

I opposed Barack Obama with all of my heart and all of my soul and I did not support Donald Trump but never would I, in my wildest fantasies, ever wish violence upon either one of them because I opposed them. It is time for cooler heads to prevail and it is time for people to understand that you can oppose a person’s opinions  and agenda but the great thing about America is that we can do it at the ballot box every two years. To use an old ’80’s expression, people need to take a “chill pill” and correct what they might see as an injustice by the means the Founding Fathers provided for us, the world is not going to end if your candidate does not win. Trust me, I know…

“Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.” Psalm 37:8 (NIV)

Just wait till the worldwide jihad reaches our shores and the Nike clad warriors of the Koran scale the walls of the elitists’ ivory towers. It will look like Count Dracula’s spiked courtyard revisited. They’re coming for all of you lefty hypocrite cowards!

I understand your point Steve of ‘getting along w/ matters at hand and such’ but that’s now been made an ideal in this reality that’s been ‘flipped, twisted and mangled’ by the adversary of good and decency. Trump isn’t a boozer or druggie, meaning he’s focused and can multi-task. His shooting off tweets, to me, is a good thing. It takes him very little time and those tweets are open to public – vs having the shyster planted CIA (not his real name) obama, who only ‘mouthed’ transparence. Trump is putting it right in the ‘lefts’ faces. And, justifiably so! They think so highly of themselves (grandiose, above all the rest) pinging their balloon (heads) and deflating them is for their own good! If might seem as though its fighting them on their own field and wasting time, but not confronting them is more damaging than shining the light truth and mocking them at their own game! [mocking the mockers and see how they like it.] “Mocking” was a technique the Pharisees and scribes used against Jesus – the same devil ‘spirit’ is behind it today & makes people delusional (not in their ‘right mind’).

The disease of Narcissism: the spirit behind it, Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit … (if you continue on reading it shows the desolation from this mindset – as you’ve previously have read – and the solution).

Many ‘disassociated’ consider the pic Pres. Trump, but it isn’t. Plus they get defensive when told it represents Bari or those they like … even themselves.

Yeah, I might have been a little harsh last night! You and Bunkerville brought it into better perspective today. I like your comparison to the Pharisees and scribes, they were in it for themselves and for their prestige and not so much for the truth.

I know how that goes Steve! I thought you’d like the Pharisees reference! They were totally against Truth, so they killed him! (Which had been planned from the beginning for a greater gain for all who should believe him!) The same evil mindset and spirit exists today, just dressed differently. But then again, some are going back to wearing ‘man skirts’ so we’re close to full circle (Sodom & Gomorrah) aren’t we.
