Keith Ellison regrets saying Kim Jong Un is ‘acting more responsibly’ than Donald Trump

August 12, 2017

Image:The situation in North Korea is growing more desperate by the day. Kim Jong Un has been test firing missiles and this provocation has been condemned by the United Nations, while Donald Trump has ratcheted up the rhetoric in an attempt to intimidate the North Korean leader. It is also being reported that North Korea now has the capability to attach miniature nuclear warheads to ICBMs which can reach the continental United States. I am not sure I believe this but that is what is being reported.

It is clear to me that after decades of United States leadership which has been unwilling to confront this situation that  Kim Jong Un is testing the current President to see what his reaction will be. Unlike Bill Clinton, George W Bush, and Barack Obama Donald Trump seems to be taking a more hard line approach and this has drawn the ire of the left, and some establishment Republicans, who would prefer apparently to let  Kim Jong Un continue to develop his weapons in the hope that he will not do anything stupid while Donald Trump is taking the opposite position.

Recently Keith Ellison actually stated that Kim Jong Un–even while firing off missiles in a provocative show of strength and who has threatened a United States territory–is “acting more responsibly” than Donald Trump–who is simply reacting to the provocation with words of warning.

“North Korea is a serious thing,” Ellison, D-Minn., told attendees at the NetrootsNation conference during a question-and-answer session. “You have this guy making bellicose threats against somebody else who has very little to lose over there. Kim Jong Un, the world always thought he was not a responsible leader; well, he’s acting more responsible than this guy is.”

Despite what Keith Ellison says Kim Jong Un has everything to lose over there; from his nation to his cozy lifestyle to his life and Donald Trump is calling Kim Jong Un out. This comment was stupid on its face and Keith Ellison almost immediately regretted his comment:

Ellison immediately retracted those remarks in an interview with a Washington Post reporter after leaving the panel.

“That was one of those I wish I’d not said,” Ellison told the Post. “It’s tailor-made for somebody to misuse. I’d say, he’s being incredibly irresponsible, and he’s putting us in a situation where you could have an accidental launch.

The mainstream media is acting as if the United States is on the brink of nuclear war with North Korea but Donald Trump’s “fire and fury” comment did not mention attacking North Korea with nuclear weapons.

George W Bush famously called North Korea part of the “axis of evil” but did nothing to stop them while Barack Obama took a diplomatic approach which led us to where we are today. Interestingly enough Bill Clinton used rhetoric which sounded quite a bit like what Donald Trump said:

“And I made it as clear as I could that if they were to do that, they would pay a price so great that the nation would probably not survive as it is known today.”

Interestingly enough Donald Trump sounds more like Bill Clinton than anyone else and yet I do not recall the mainstream media and the Democrats attacking the former President for being irresponsible…

The left must know that should Kim One Hung Low Un is a man of peace not unlike the Islamic world nuts who want to behead the western world. Why else would they criticize Trump as a maniacle war monger upsetting the world peace negotiated by Obama and his gaggle of state department girls led by pant suit grandma.
