Donald Trump signs $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill
Earlier in the day Donald Trump said he was seriously considering vetoing the $1.3 trillion spending package which was sent to his desk late last night but in the end it looks like he was rolled by the Congress.
The Democratic leaders are gleeful, taking credit for the legislation and declaring victory, but the reality is this bill would have never passed if the establishment Republicans were not for it. In the end the establishment Republicans got what they wanted: there is no major money there for a border wall, the Congress increased its budgets in both House and got bonuses for some aides, and in the end they helped deliver a loss to the President they do not like. (For the record, I never believed Donald Trump would be able to deliver on his promise to build the wall.)
The one plus Republicans are holding on to is the same plus the President used to justify signing this monstrosity, an increase in defense spending and a much deserved raise for the troops, but all in all once again nothing has changed in regards to spending. The Republicans claim to be the fiscally responsible party but in the end they only oppose spending when they are not in power, and that is only a shadowy game. I have said for some time that the establishment Republicans and the Democrats are on the same side, only feigning opposition to garner votes, and I think this proves what I have been saying.
By and large Donald Trump’s base is up in arms and vowing to stay away from the polls in November. Will this actually happen? Only time will tell but one thing I have learned since writing about politics is this; what happens this far out before an election does not seem to be remembered by the time people head to the polls. It all depends on what happens between now and then and what Donald Trump is able to accomplish in the meantime.
In signing the omnibus spending bill Donald Trump vowed not to sign a bill like this again but I have my doubts. It would seem to me all the Democrats have to do is hold military funding over his head and he will do it again. Maybe I am wrong about that, we will see.
I have come to the conclusion that spending will never be cut and our government will never be fiscally responsible, that is a pipe dream much like the wall. And the beat goes on…

Trump will never last until 2020.. Whats the point…he has to know….they will come after his children big time…his business dealings…it will never end. The Dems will take the House and impeach him…the revolution has begun.

Trump gave his wink and a nod a while back when he said bring me a bill and I will sign it. After today I have lost an appreciable amount of respect; And I believe he was in on this from day one. His act today was lousy at best. As a New Yorker he forgot the cardinal rule when trying to pull the wool over the other guy’s eyes: you can’t bullshit a bullshiter. This bullshiter was not fooled. His act was as real as his wall.

The Fat Lady hasn’t sung yet, BUT she’s close ~ that bill signing is REPULSIVE to me. My Brother’s withdrawing from the Rep. party because its ‘DEAD’. The ‘dem’ party is too. None of them represent the American people they’re all on the GRAVY TRAIN. What did the Constitutionalist say to do when this happened? THATt ‘needs’ to be done. There’s got to be some sane and courageous people ‘behind the scenes’ who can do something. 😬
Since the THIEVES won’t have a ‘change of heart’ a ‘change of mind and beliefs’ would be good. They indoctrinate people and ‘school kids’ to be their slaves, we need some ‘smart ones’ to turn them to think and vote the BEST not the worse for us!
There’s all sorts of movies about that how to do things like that ~ usually to help the ‘evil ones’ But in THIS case it would be for our good! make them our slaves!!

I would not bet against Trump. Remember he took over a problem plagued NYC ice rink project in Central Park and brought it in ahead of schedule and under budget. His whole life has been spent in construction. The Demoidiots may be celebrating now, but they maybe crying latter. The Trump voters need to organize for the midterm and take on both parties. The Trump voters need to realize the revolution needs to continue and it will take more than Trump to push forward. If the Bernie bros are organizing progressive candidates then Trump voters need to turn on the Republican establishment and find pro growth canidates.

I hope you are right but right now Trump voters are extremely mad and unmotivated to vote. Trump is going to have to deliver on something big before the midterm or he could be in trouble.

Maybe but as long as the people have the lesser of two evils mentality it won’t happen. Maybe this is what it will take for people to say enough is enough, it is not enough simply to stay home. It would be more effective if the Dems and the Republicans saw another party start to gain steam.

According to organizational theory all organization want to survive. So it becomes easier to co-opt the goal or purpose of an organization then to build a new one. The TEA Party, the Freedom caucus are all attempts to co-opt the Rebublican Party, but they have only been partially succeed. It is rare that a change agent becomes President without the necessary supporting structure in place. The duplicity of both parties has been laid bare. Now is not the time to run away from the challenge that lies ahead. One hundred years of corruption cannot be swept away in a year.

“Gaslighting has been going on so long, with “Hope … Believe, blah, blah Trust” that taking a step back to assess what one can ‘reason to be true’ seems only sane to do. For if Truth is kicked out, like the Bible from schools, what’s left? Error.
If both the Dems & Repubs are ‘dead’ parties (overtaken by frauds) ‘that Truth’ needs to be recognized and dealt with. And maybe that’s what’s going on right now – which you are saying.

If GOD is for us ~ who are HIS~ then HE’ll make a way!! In the days of Noah and Lot there where less than 10 who Believed and Trusted in God, obviously there’s more than that in America, so that’s a Plus!

Apparently just as Pelosi said “you have to read the bill to know what’s in it.” Some are claiming the wall funding is in the omnibus bill. It’s in the DoD budget for the Corps of Engineers.

I had hoped he would veto the bill, then he caved. I’m tired of the massive budget but I agree, I don’t know if it’s ever going to get under control
