San Jose Mayor apologizes for breaking California COVID-19 lockdown orders over Thanksgiving

December 2, 2020

Our Statist politicians all across the nation are no longer even trying to hide the fact they believe the rules they implement on the plebeians do not also apply to them. I will not go into the ever-growing list of examples yet again but I bring you the latest one which is from–where else?–California.

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo has had to apologize for having Thanksgiving with his family in violation of California’s COVID-19 draconian lockdown order, here is more:

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo on Tuesday was forced to publicly apologize after getting caught gathering with his family for Thanksgiving in defiance of California’s Covid order.

In October California Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled authoritarian Thanksgiving Covid rules which prohibited more than 3 households from gathering.

According to the rules not only are you only allowed to have family members from three households present in the privacy of your own home but you are expected to collect all their names and contact information in case the State wants to come after them. But San Jose’s Governor did not feel the need to comply with the rules because he attended a family event where five households were present.

I know how insane it sounds that we are bickering over how many people you can have in your house at any one time is, especially over the holidays, or how many households can come to your house at once but such is life in our post-American utopia. And on top of it all our elected officials hold themselves above the law as we have seen time and time again, when are people going to stand up?!

William Barr appoints John Durham as special counsel in Spygate investigation

December 2, 2020

Last month it was reported that John Durham was dropping the Spygate investigation due to a fear of retribution by the Biden administration after he is sworn in in January, however it appears as if that story was only a rumor because we have just found out that William Barr appointed John Durham as special counsel back in October to ensure the investigation can continue after the inauguration. Here is more:

Attorney General William Barr has given extra protection to the prosecutor he appointed to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, granting him authority to complete the work without being easily fired.

Barr told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he had appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham as a special counsel in October under the same federal regulations that governed special counsel Robert Mueller in the original Russia probe. He said Durham’s investigation has been narrowing to focus more on the conduct of FBI agents who worked on the Russia investigation, known by the code name of Crossfire Hurricane.

That is all very well and good but it is nothing more than optics at this point. William Barr is sure to be fired and replaced after Joe Biden takes over and even if charges are recommended in the Durham report it will be up to the new Attorney General to decided whether or not to take action and I think we know what the answer to that question is already as the memories of Eric Holder are planted firmly in our heads.

Chuck Schumer wants to hold confirmation hearings on Joe Biden’s cabinet nominees before the inauguration

November 30, 2020

Well this is a bit odd. Chuck Schumer wants to hold confirmation hearings for Joe Biden’s cabinet nominees before the President-elect is even sworn in.

All of a sudden Chuck Schumer feels it is important to give the President his cabinet as soon as possible. I am not one who feels there is any chance whatsoever of the election results being overturned but this does make you wonder if he is afraid of something or knows something we do not know…

Vermont Governor instructs teachers to question students about their Thanksgiving gatherings

November 27, 2020

The 2020-21 Fall/Winter house arrest orders are going to be more restrictive and last longer than the Spring arrest orders we were subjected to earlier this year as the State looks to push the limits of totalitarianism.

In addition to the house arrest orders, some States are actively trying to turn Americans against each other by calling on people to turn in their neighbors for what they are doing in the privacy of their own houses over the holidays, while other States are setting up Nazi-style checkpoints to stop out-of-States from entering without the proper papers.

Not to be outdone, Vermont’s Governor Phil Scott wants teachers to interrogate their students to get them to rat out their parents for holding Thanksgiving gatherings. Here is more:

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott is giving schools the green light to interrogate students about their Thanksgiving activities following the break.

According to Scott, students or parents who admit to violating the state’s holiday travel and gathering rules will be forced to participate in online school for two weeks, he announced via Twitter on Tuesday. The penalty will be reduced to one week if the students in question take a COVID-19 test.

But this authoritarian does not stop at the schools, he also wants people to be questioned about their private affairs by their employers:

This is just the beginning, this is as good as it gets. It is only going to get worse from here. This is as free as we are ever going to be again…

Supreme Court blocks Andrew Cuomo’s COVID-19 church restrictions

November 26, 2020

While Bill de Blasio’s Brown Shirts are going to be out in full force over the holiday season stopping people with out-of-State plates and asking to see their papers we did get a little bit of good news last night.

It is being reported here that last might the Supreme Court temporarily blocked Herr Cuomo’s COVID-19 church restrictions. Here is more:

The Supreme Court late Wednesday temporarily blocked Gov. Andrew Cuomo from setting capacity limits at houses of worship in certain state-designated coronavirus hot spots.

In a 5-4 decision, the nation’s highest court sided with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and Orthodox Jewish synagogues that sued the governor over the state-imposed caps in areas declared red and orange zones.

Here is part of the opinion given in the decision:

“Even in a pandemic, the Constitution cannot be put away and forgotten,” the unsigned opinion said.

“The restrictions at issue here, by effectively barring many from attending religious services, strike at the very heart of the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious liberty.”

The idea that a dictator such as Andrew Cuomo has the authority to stop people from attending Church services is so overtly unconstitutional that it is scary sign of the times this had to go all the way to the Supreme Court to be reaffirmed. It is almost as scary that this was a 5-4 decision.

Newly-minted Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with the majority and the Constitution while Chief Justice John Roberts joined the other three liberal justices on the side of der führer.

New York City setting up COVID-19 checkpoints to stop out-of-Staters from entering the city for Thanksgiving

November 25, 2020

If you are planning on heading to New York City to visit family over Thanksgiving you had better be able to show your papers because Mayor de Blasio is going to have his Brown Shirts out in full force. He is setting up checkpoints all along the city to pull over people with out-of-State plates, here is more:

Law enforcement will be “out in-force” as the holidays approach, stopping vehicles at certain New York City checkpoints, and there will be “consequences” for violating quarantine requirements, Sheriff Joseph Fucito said on Tuesday.

“Sheriff teams will be out in-force as the holidays approach. There will be vehicle checkpoints at key bridges and crossings throughout New York City,” Fucito announced during a Tuesday press conference alongside Mayor Bill de Blasio (D).

If you think you can buck the system by taking public transportation you had better think again, Bill de Blasio has that covered as well:

“Sheriff will also be conducting checkpoints at curbside drop off bus stops – so, out-of-state buses coming into New York City, when they drop off at the curb, they will be met by sheriff teams,” he said, explaining that they will also be “serving Department of Health general orders for travelers arriving in New York, advising him of the quarantine and what they have to do in order to comply with the quarantine.”

How many times do we have to remind these people that it is not a quarantine when you are locking up the healthy?

If you violate the order you will be given a mandatory quarantine order and could face a $1,000 fine. Now we know why they emptied the prisons when this pandemic first started, they had to make room for people who were not so easily controlled with the threat of an invisible menace. We are no longer living in America…

Oregon Governor encourages people to report neighbors who have too many people over for Thanksgiving

November 23, 2020

Some Governors are enjoying their newly found COVID-19 emergency powers more than other Governors are. One Governor who has really let her power go to her head is Oregon Governor Kate Brown, who has decided that the plebeians are not allowed to have more than six people in their houses for Thanksgiving.

She is so upset that some people are planning on violating her decree that she is asking people to report their neighbors to the police if they have too many people in their homes. Here is more:

Days before Thanksgiving, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said she believes residents who know their neighbors are violating the most recent round of COVID-19 protocols, which includes capping the number of people allowed in your home at six, should call the police.

“This is no different than what happens if there’s a party down the street and it’s keeping everyone awake,” Brown said in an interview Friday. “What do neighbors do [in that case]? They call law enforcement because it’s too noisy. This is just like that. It’s like a violation of a noise ordinance.”

Violations of this order could result in 30 days in jail and a $1,250 fine. 30 days in jail for having guests over on Thanksgiving! It is shocking what we are allowing to happen in our country and to think that there might be some people out there who will actually turn in their neighbors simply because they feel the neighbors are getting away with something they themselves did not have the courage to stand up and fight for is very troubling.

Despite what the despot in charge of Oregon says, this is nothing like reporting people for violating a noise ordinance where others are being disturbed, this is reporting people for what they are doing in the privacy of their own homes, which is nobody else’s business. This is actually more like Germany in the 1930s…

Ilhan Omar cuts ties with her husband’s political consulting firm after paying millions of dollars

November 18, 2020

It really is a twisted web Ilhan Omar and her former and current husbands have weaved throughout the 2018 and 2020 elections and now the story has taken another turn.

First, a little background: We first learned last February that there was an FEC complaint filed against Ilhan Omar accusing her of using her campaign to fund an extramarital affair she was having with a man who worked in her political consulting firm during the 2018 campaign. That was to the tune of around $500,000. After this news came to light her publicly embarrassed and disgraced husband asked for and was granted a divorce. This freed Ilhan Omar up to marry the man she was cheating on her husband with.

While her marriage to her ex-husband ended the payments to her new husband’s firm did not, this time she did not feel the need to be discreet with no extramarital affair to the tune and she paid her husband’s firm $3,000,000 during the 2020 campaign.

And that should bring us to today. Now that the campaign is done, and not wanting to give the impression of anything being not on the up and up, Ilhan Omar is cutting ties with her husband’s consulting firm.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) campaign paid her husband’s consulting firm millions of dollars during the 2019-2020 election cycle, but Omar will be cutting off the firm going forward.

“So we’ve decided to terminate our contract with Tim and Will’s firm,” Omar’s campaign announced in an email to supporters, first reported by the Washington Free Beacon. “While many of our close supporters know these two well and have recommended we keep them on — I want to make sure that anybody who is supporting our campaign with their time or financial support feels there is no perceived issue with that support.”

Does anybody really believe she cares about how this relationship looks? If she did care she would have severed the relationship during the campaign when it could have become an issue and possibly cost her her reelection. Now that the campaign is over and a complaint has been filed she is simply covering herself just in case wrongdoing is found. She is trying to get ahead of the story.
