Latest poll shows a very tight race in the New Hampshire Republican Presidential primary
The latest New Hampshire poll is out and it shows there is no clear front-runner in the early going and I think this is good news because it means the state is not committed as of yet to the establishment candidate–Jeb Bush.

The poll also shows that Senator Marco Rubio is rising while support for his fellow Floridian, former Governor Jeb Bush, has fallen off. Rubio and Bush both were the first choice of 11 percent of likely Republican primary voters in the poll, while Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky each scored 12 percent.
It is clearly a tight race at this point with four Republicans locked in a dead heat while on the Democratic side Hillary Clinton is running away with it:
The war of words between Barack Obama and Elizabeth Warren over the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal is escalating. Elizabeth Warren stated that if the TPP was fast-tracked it would give the Republicans the means needed for them to undo the Dodd-Frank legislation and needless to say, Barack Obama was not happy and he let it be known.

In an interview with Yahoo! Politics published Saturday, Obama said that the Massachusetts senator’s arguments “don’t stand the test of fact and scrutiny,” and that “she is absolutely wrong,” on any trade deal’s potential to roll back the Dodd Frank Act.
The president didn’t hide his irritation at Warren’s comments, stating, “the notion that I had this massive fight with Wall Street to make sure we don’t have what happened in 2007 and 2008, and then I sign a provision to unravel it? I’d have to be pretty stupid.”
Obama said Warren’s arguments were not based on substantive evidence. “This is pure speculation,”
Tinfoil hat time: I have to say at this point in time I am becoming just a little bit suspicious of this whole dust up between the President and the first-term Senator from Massachusetts. Democrats usually do a great job at keeping any major intraparty skirmishes private but this one has burst open in public at an interesting time as potential Presidential candidates announce their intentions.

We continue with the heavy metal theme this week as coming in at number 6 is the little man with the big voice: Ronnie James Dio. Ronnie James Dio was the front man for Elf and Rainbow before being tapped by Black Sabbath to be Ozzy’s replacement, and eventually struck out on his own. This post is quite timely because this Saturday, May 16th, will mark the fifth anniversary of Dio’s passing at the age of 67. Here is a post I wrote about Dio back then.

Well, while my all time favorite list will continue next week with number 5, this brings an end to my favorite heavy metal bands but I cannot bring this post to a conclusion, especially in light of the fact Dio once fronted Black Sabbath, without giving out an honorable mention to Black Sabbath and Ozzy. Let’s face it, no heavy metal list can be complete without at least mentioning Black Sabbath!

Back in February a Federal Judge, Andrew Hanen, issued an injunction halting part of Barack Obama’s Executive action on illegal immigration on behalf of the 26 state which are suing the Obama regime over his actions until the case could be decided.
More recently Judge Hanen accused the Obama regime of misleading the court, a claim which was confirmed when the Department of Injustice issued an apology over the “confusion” and the “misunderstanding” surrounding the Federal Government’s statements in front of the court.
And now, if this story is true, the Department of Homeland Security has admitted to breaking Judge Hanen’s injunction. Here is more:
In Bill Whittle’s Afterburner video entitled “I Support Free Speech, But…” he takes on the people who say Pam Geller, and those attending her event in Garland Texas, deserved to be attacked for holding an event which was designed to be provocative and offensive.
Personally I believe the event was designed to be provocative and possibly even offensive but I support Pam Geller’s right to hold this event anyway. In Schenck v. United States Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. wrote that a person cannot “falsely” shout “fire in a theater” in an attempt to create panic. Since that decision was rendered the left has used the mantra that a person cannot shout fire in a crowded theater whenever they want to stifle free speech. But in doing so they leave out the word “falsely” and that is because a person can shout fire in crowded theater–if there is indeed a fire.
It is interesting to note here that while attacking Pam Geller for holding this event the left is neglecting the point that this shooting highlighted the fact that she is right–there is a fire in this theater that many people want to overlook in the interest of being politically correct so as not to offend the minority of Muslims who are willing to kill people when they are offended.

A State Department official has finally admitted what we all know is the truth: Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email account to conduct all official State Department business is “not acceptable.”

“I think that the action we’ve taken in the course of recovering these emails have made it very clear what people’s responsibilities are with respect to recordkeeping,” Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Barr told the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I think the message is loud and clear that that is not acceptable.”
Of course she went on to claim she had no idea Hillary Clinton was using a personal email account to conduct all State Department business in an apparent attempt to skirt FOIA requests so at this time it would appear as if she is in full CYA mode. It looks as if the State Department did not have a problem with what Hillary Clinton was doing until she was caught.

Chalk this one up in the deliciously ironic category: a police union is suing the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey after several officers, during a criminal investigation, had their cellphones searched without a warrant. Here is more:
A union representing Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police officers has sued the agency, citing what it calls “widespread, ongoing and unconstitutional searches” of their private cellphones.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Manhattan federal court. It comes after a criminal investigation into a rowdy graduation party by out-of-uniform and off-duty rookie officers at a Hoboken, New Jersey, bar last summer. The investigation led to the firings of nine officers.
The lawsuit by the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association says Port Authority investigators intimidated officers into giving up their cellphones. It seeks unspecified damages.
This is quite ironic because when the issue went before the Supreme Court police agencies argued that searching cellphones without a warrant should be allowed:
Police agencies argued that searching through data on cellphones was no different from asking someone to turn out his pockets
The Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, correctly ruled that warrantless cellphone searches were unconstitutional so it would appear on the surface that these officers have a legitimate case and if their fourth amendment right was violated I will stand with them.
However it is interesting to note that it appears as if the police feel there should be one rule for the people and another rule for them judging by these two cases. How quickly they changed their tune because of who the victims were in this case. All I ask for is equal protection under the law, maybe this will show them the error of their ways…

You might remember that during the Obamacare debate one of the key selling points Barack Obama used in an attempt to gain support for the legislation with the American people was that emergency room visits would decline because the formally uninsured people would now be able to visit a primary care physician instead of relying on the emergency room for primary care. This was supposed to help bring down the costs of healthcare.
It turns out, according to this story, not only has that not happened but emergency room visits have actually increased since the law was passed. (And of course the cost of healthcare has not gone down) Here is more:
Mike Huckabee announces 2016 Presidential bid
Today Mike Huckabee announced that he is running for the Republican nomination to become President in 2016. Here is part of what he had to say as he reached out to the working class in the United States during his announcement:
“I don’t come from a family dynasty, but a working family. I grew up blue-collar, not blue-blood”
But here in this small town called Hope, I was raised to believe that where a person started didn’t mean that’s where he had to stop. I always believed a kid could go from Hope to Higher Ground.
Like a lot of Americans, I grew up in a small town far removed from the power, the money, the influence that runs the country. But power and money and political influence have left a lot of Americans lagging behind. They work hard, lift heavy things and sweat through their clothes grinding out a living, but they can’t seem to get ahead or in some cases even stay even.
The first sentence is a clear shot at the Bush and Clinton political dynasties, and I would add to all the establishment elitists as well. I have to admit that I admire him for the fact he does not come from a “blue blood” family and that through hard work he was able to overcome his humble beginnings to turn himself into the successful person he has become. But, having said that, he will not be getting my vote.
