New report claims Government officials have not tested whether or not Ebola can be spread through the air

October 14, 2014

We have been given conflicting reports on how Ebola can and cannot be spread: Barack Obama has told us that we cannot catch it from sitting next to someone on the subway while others have said there is a chance the virus could mutate into an airborne virus.

Dr. David Sanders, a Purdue University biology professor, is one who claims the virus could be airborne. Here is what he had to say:

Dr. David Sanders, a Purdue University biology professor who “has been studying the virus since 2003 – specifically how this particular Zaire strain of Ebola enters human cells,” told The Indy  Channel (rtv6 ABC) that the Ebola virus “can enter the lung from the airway side” and is “primed to have respiratory transmission.”

“We need to be taking this into consideration,” Sanders said. “What if? This is not a crazy, ‘What if?’ This is not a wild, ‘What if?'”

Others have said this is not the case:

Jon Stewart blasts Democrat fundraising hypocrisy

October 14, 2014

I just did a quick search of America’s Watchtower and just as I thought this is the first time I have ever posted anything from Jon Stewart, but this is pretty funny. In this video he takes on the hypocrisy of the Democrats for railing against all the money in politics while at the same time going to extremes to ensure they continue to out-raise the Republicans.

The possibility of Mitt Romney running for President in 2016 is not dead yet

October 13, 2014

Despite Mitt Romney’s claim to the contrary, and as I have written about several times in the recent past, rumors persist that he might still be considering a run at the Presidency in 2016.

According to this article those rumors are being stoked yet again, and it appears as if the possibility is not dead yet, here is more:

Media claims Michelle Obama mispronounced Bruce Braley’s name seven times on purpose

October 13, 2014

michelle obama How about something on the lighter side tonight? Just in case you have not heard; the other day Michelle Obama attended a campaign event for  Iowa Senate candidate Bruce Braley and while throwing her support behind him she flubbed his last name seven times–calling him Bailey instead of Braley–before a somebody in the crowd corrected her. She didn’t even know his name but apparently she knew he had to be elected to the Senate.

We on the right love to talk about media bias and now we have a perfect example because according to this article three members of the media are now suggesting that Michelle Obama did this on purpose.

October 12, 2014

Here is the open thread for Sunday, October 12th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week we covered another 10 stories here at America’s Watchtower. Did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure you do not miss another post. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?

Lost energy generation due to new EPA regulations seven times higher than original estimate

October 11, 2014

Last week I was greeted with the news that Unitil customers in New Hampshire  will see an average increase in their electricity bill of $42 a month. Of course I was not surprised by this because I remembered that this was what Barack Obama, the self-proclaimed middle class warrior, promised to do to me.

The scary part is this is just the beginning and according to this article a new report shows the loss of generating capacity due to impending EPA regulations is going to be seven times higher than the original estimate.

Firewall with Bill Whittle: You’re Not a Liberal

October 10, 2014

In his latest Firewall video entitled ‘You’re Not a Liberal’ Bill Whittle explains the difference between classic liberalism (while he does not use the term) and today’s liberals–who are in reality collectivists and statists. Need I say it? This is a much watch.

Coal union protester does not even want to hear Barack Obama’s name

October 10, 2014

union-coal-miners-for-obama-870am  From time to time since Barack Obama won reelection in 2012 the coal  unions have protested against Barack Obama’s energy policies and his use of the EPA to begin the implementation of his cap and trade agenda because it is costing them their livelihoods.

The last time this happened was at the beginning of August when the United Mine Workers of America held a protest in which their president, Cecil Roberts, among others, was arrested.

Every time this happens I like to remind these people that this is exactly what Barack Obama promised would happen and as proof I offer the following video where he makes that promise.

White House aides knew about (and were involved in) the Secret Service’s prostitution scandal

October 9, 2014

Back in April of 2012 the Secret Service became embroiled in a prostitution scandal which the White House denied any knowledge about. However it is now being reported that senior White House aides did in fact know about this at the time.

  Here is more:

prostituteAs nearly two dozen Secret Service agents and members of the military were punished or fired following a 2012 prostitution scandal in Colombia, Obama administration officials repeatedly denied that anyone from the White House was involved.

But new details drawn from government documents and interviews show that senior White House aides were given information at the time suggesting that a prostitute was an overnight guest in the hotel room of a presidential advance-team member — yet that information was never thoroughly investigated or publicly acknowledged.

The information that the Secret Service shared with the White House included hotel records and firsthand accounts — the same types of evidence the agency and military relied on to determine who in their ranks was involved.

The Secret Service shared its findings twice in the weeks after the scandal with top White House officials, including then-White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler. Each time, she and other presidential aides conducted an interview with the advance-team member and concluded that he had done nothing wrong.

There was no wrong-doing yet according to the article it was never really investigated. Or was it?

The EPA admits it “lost” text messages from top officials

October 8, 2014

The Competitive Enterprise Institute has been trying to gain access to the text messages of top officials within the EPA but to date they have been unsuccessful. Now the EPA (stop me if you have heard this one before) is admitting these text messages were lost, here is more:

Justice Department lawyers said they will soon be telling a federal judge the EPA misplaced text messages sent to and from the phone belonging to agency chief Gina McCarthy and former chief Lisa Jackson.

“Defendant has decided to formally notify the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) about the potential loss of federal records relating to text messages,” DOJ lawyers admitted.

Horner’s past transparency work has revealed numerous attempts by EPA officials to avoid public scrutiny by using private email accounts and stonewalling government records requests.

The EPA is of course stating that this was unintentional:
