Is Charlie Rangel in danger of losing in the primary?

June 22, 2014

I have read a few stories in the last couple of days which state that Charlie Rangel could be in real jeopardy in the New York primary. This Washington Post story states that, in addition to the issue of whether or not Charlie Rangel has been in the Congress too long, changing demographics is the biggest reason Charlie Rangel may be in trouble.

Through immigration and redistricting, what is now New York’s 13th Congressional District — a seat Rangel has held since 1971 and viewed as the center of New York’s modern black political power structure — has experienced a seismic demographic shift from majority black to majority Hispanic.

I do not doubt for a moment that changing demographics is playing a role in this race, in fact I find it quite ironic that it is playing a role considering Charlie Rangel’s support for amnesty, but I think it downplays the role that anti-incumbent fever is playing in this race as well.

The IRS hired a private firm to back up all its emails but fired it after Lois Lerner’s hard drive crashed

June 22, 2014

Much of the focus on the IRS targeting scandal over the last week or two has revolved around Lois Lerner’s now destroyed hard drive, and while this is understandable because of the sensational aspect to the story, it is misguided because emails are not stored on hard drives. It is true that there could possibly be some interesting and pertinent information on her hard drive which could shed some light on this scandal, but the emails will not be found there even if the hard drive was recoverable.

The hard drive is a diversion, a stalling tactic, which is being used by the IRS and the Congress seems to be falling for it when they should be focused on the servers, for servers are where the emails will be found.

It turns out, according to this story, that the IRS had a contract with a company called Sonasoft to back up the corrupt agency’s servers.

Check it out and if you like what you see we are currently looking for donations and delegates to the states for the convention.

This week’s musical selection is Muse performing ‘Exo-Politics’ live in 2006. This was shot from the audience so the video quality is not the greatest but the audio sounds good.

Open skies over me
I am waiting patiently
I’ll wait for a sign

As conspiracies unwind
Will you slam shut
Or free your mind
Or stay hypnotized

When the Zetas fill the skies
Will our leaders tell us why
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds

Carried through the centuries
Secrets locked up
And loaded on my back
Well it weights me down

When the Zetas fill the skies
It’s just our leaders in disguise

Joe Biden contradicts Barack Obama, says some of the recent wave of illegal immigrants will be allowed to stay in the United States

June 21, 2014

Last week Barack Obama had a message for Mexico and the recent illegal immigrants who have been flooding over the border since the president used Executive Orders to loosen the immigration policies to grant defacto amnesty and implement the DREAM Act and his message was clear; you cannot stay here.

President Obama told his Mexican counterpart in a phone call Thursday that immigrants crossing into the U.S. illegally won’t qualify for legalized status or deferred deportation, including children.

In my post covering this story I had one simple question for my readers; do you believe him?

Apparently you can count Joe Biden as one of the people who did not believe Barack Obama because in a press conference yesterday Joe Biden said that while the vast majority of recent illegal immigrants would be sent back not all of them would be.

Judge throws out Florida phone spying case after Federal Marshals seize the documents

June 21, 2014

This is a quick update to this story which I wrote about on June 4th.

First, a quick summary: the ACLU was set to view documents under a FOIA request which were related to the Florida Police Department’s use of a device called a Stingray. A Stingray is a device which can set up a fake cellphone tower and trick cellphones into connecting to it. Once this link is established the police can then use this technology to locate the user, read texts, and listen in as well. The ACLU was concerned that the police were not getting a proper probable-cause warrant and on the very day they were to review the documents Federal Marshals raided the police department and seized all the documents using the Homeland Security Act as justification.

Now for the update but it should not surprise you.

Rand Paul introduces an amendment to prevent the DOJ from using Operation Choke Point to punish gun dealers

June 20, 2014

Operation Choke Point is an initiative started by the Department on Injustice back in 2013 with the stated goal of protecting consumers from fraud by scrutinizing banks which deal heavily with “high risk” businesses.

Of course the Federal government is tasked with identifying these “high risk” businesses so when the Congress failed to pass Barack Obama’s gun control legislation the regime decided to add gun manufacturers and dealers to the list of “high risk” businesses in an apparent attempt to choke off the sale of guns. This has had some early success, banks not wishing to receive additional scrutiny from the Federal government have decided to stop doing business with gun dealers in several cases.

The White House knew Lois Lerner’s emails were lost back in April

June 20, 2014

According to this story, in what must have been a relief to the White House, we now know that the White House was informed that Lois Lerner’s emails were lost back in April.

In sworn testimony Friday, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen admitted that the IRS told the Obama administration about Lois Lerner’s missing emails in April, six weeks before telling Congress, even though Congress had subpoenaed Lerner’s emails as part of its investigation into the alleged muzzling of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status before the 2010 election.

Back in March IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified under oath that the IRS backs up all emails to servers and that is why it was going to take years to produce all of Lois Lerner’s emails.

Under questioning by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on the House Oversight Committee, Koskinen said IRS emails “get taken off and stored in servers.” That was part of the reason, he said, it was so difficult to provide them in a timely fashion.

Afterburner with Bill Whittle: Le Deluge

June 20, 2014

I posted what I thought was the latest ‘Afterburner’ video by Bill Whittle last night but there is another one so here it is. This one is called ‘Le Deluge’ and it is about how Barack Obama isn’t really concerned about the negative aspects of his policies because by the time they are fully known he will be out of office.

He also lists all of Barack Obama’s “accomplishments.”

Latest poll shows Scott Brown with a huge lead in the New Hampshire Republican primary

June 20, 2014

The latest poll is out in New Hampshire and it should come as no surprise that Scott Brown has a big lead over his primary opponents.

Brown led Smith, 40.3 to 12.2 percent, with 3.6 percent for Rubens

However the news is not all good for the carpetbagging former Massachusetts Senator for, in addition to trailing Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen by 10 points in the general election, this poll still shows 38% of the people undecided.

That is a huge number of undecided voters and with Scott Brown’s name recognition and his voting record in Washington on full display it shows us that many of the voters still are distrustful of him and are hoping for a viable alternative. It is not like Scott Brown is an unknown–he is known and nearly 40% of those surveyed still have not made up their mind.

In the end even if most of the undecideds vote for an alternative candidate the votes will be split and Scott Brown will win the nomination, but the real trouble is going to be in the general election. If this many voters have not made up their mind about Scott Brown I believe in the end those same voters will pull the lever for Jeanne Shaheen in the general election.

But it is still very early…..

Barack Obama tells Mexico illegal immigrants who are part of the surge will not be allowed to stay in the United States

June 19, 2014

Since the news about the recent flood of illegal immigrants crossing over the border, which includes many unaccompanied children, has come to light Barack Obama has been facing quite a bit of heat from people blaming his Executive Orders, and his lack of respect for the law, for the surge.

So much heat, in fact, that he reluctantly was forced to respond. Today he told Mexico that the people who are currently crossing the border in the hope of gaining amnesty would not be allowed to stay in the United States.
