University of California fraternity accused of racism because coconut bras and grass skirts are racist
In today’s politically correct America it seems as if there is nothing which cannot be deemed racist or offensive, especially among our college students and their faculties.
First we heard the story about Dartmouth University: A sorority in this esteemed educational institution decided to hold a Cino de Mayo themed fundraiser, which they dubbed “Phiesta,” on the Mexican holiday which would have raised money for cardiac research. It was cancelled after one student called the event “exploitative” and “inappropriate” becuase apparently serving tacos is racist.
It was also proof, she said, that the date is nothing more than a “drinking holiday in the United States, cultural appropriation and the inappropriate usage of cultural clothing, and the exploitation of groups of people and cultures for the sake of business opportunities.”
As a result, the presidents of the Phi Delta Alpha fraternity and the Alpha Phi sorority at Dartmouth decided to cancel the party, which was meant to be a fundraiser for a cardiac health charity.
Then came the story of University of St. Thomas: Students at this university decided to hold a “hump day” celebration which included a live camel which students would have been able to have their pictures taken with. This idea was obviously a takeoff of the famous hump day commercial for Geico, but it was cancelled after concerns were voiced on Facebook that this could be deemed racially insensitive to Muslims.
But the event was subsequently cancelled after students took to Facebook to proclaim their concerns. The students said they were concerned about the money spent on bringing the camel to campus—around $500—and the implication that it would be racially insensitive to Middle Eastern cultures.
And now we are learning about the story of a University of California fraternity which stands accused of racism because coconut bras and grass skirts are now apparently racist. I kid you not.

As America’s Watchtower wrote about in this article, TD Bank refused to give a Massachusetts gun dealer a line of credit due to the Obama regime’s Operation Choke Point despite the fact they have had a relationship for many years.
Here is what TD Bank told Mark Cohen:
“Mark, I apologize,” she said, according to Cohen, “your credit history is great, but the bank is turning you down because you sell guns.”
Of course TD Bank has known for years that Mark Cohen sold guns and that did not stop them from doing business with him in the past. However recently the Department of Injustice added gun dealers to the list of high risk businesses under Operation Choke Point and suddenly, under the possible threat of increased government scrutiny, the bank decided it could not offer Mister Cohen a line of credit due to the business he was in. Coincidence? I think not, this is the new angle the Obama regime is perusing in an attempt to implement a sort of backdoor gun control policy.
Barack Obama and the Democrats have been unable to get the gun control legislation they so desperately want passed through the Congress, so they have been quietly working behind the scenes from a different angle–they are slowly using the banks to go after the gun dealers.
They are using a program called Operation Choke Point to intimidate banks from doing business with gun dealers. The main goal of Operation Choke Point was not to go after gun dealers but this program provides the Federal government with cover to do so under the radar. And slowly, but surely, it is beginning to work.
Operation Choke Point is run by the Department of Injustice and the FDIC and it is supposed to help protect the American people against fraud. In order to help protect the people the Federal government created a list of high risk businesses and if banks do too much business with this group they receive extra scrutiny from the Federal government. And of course gun dealers were added to the list of high risk businesses.
John Boehner has a history of punishing conservative (Tea Party) leaning members of the Republican party. Back in 2012 John Boehner punished conservative Republicans by stripping them of their positions on key committees because they did not fall in line with the establishment, while threatening to punish others if they did not learn their lesson from this action.
Now he appears poised to do it again in the event that the Republicans hold on to their majority in the House if they dare to oppose his speakership in 2015.

Operation Choke Point is beginning to take hold. What is Operation Choke Point? It is an initiative which is supposed to protect the people from fraud and in the process the Federal government created a list of “high risk” businesses. If a bank does quite a bit of work with a “high risk” business they risk scrutiny by the Federal government, and of course they do not want that.
And naturally the gun industry has been put into the “high risk” category. And now this nefarious attempt to use what might be a legitimate program to implement a type of back door gun control might be starting to have its desired effect upon the gun industry.
According to this article a longtime Massachusetts gun dealer has had his request for credit denied by TD Bank because he is “high risk.” This dealership is considered to be “high risk” not because of credit issues (which a bank would normally consider to be high risk) but because of the industry the dealer is in.
Rush Limbaugh compares Harry Reid’s ranting against the Koch brothers to Elliot Rodger’s ranting against women
This post will most likely upset my conservative readers but here goes anyway.
I am not a fan of Rush Limbaugh. I sometimes put on his show at lunch just to see what he is saying and when I do I find that he is either always talking about himself or playing clips from the mainstream media talking about what he said. I find this irritating to say the least because first and foremost I believe he is all about self-promotion and frankly I do not see where he does anything to promote the cause of conservatism, other than to preach to the choir while providing the left with fodder which helps them to win elections.
On his program today, which I did not listen to, he did it again: he decided to compare Harry Reid’s rantings on the Senate floor against the Koch brothers to the rantings of Elliot Rodger against women before he went on his killing spree last week.
Here is what he said:
When it was announced that as part of the plan to ease the backlog in the Veterans Affairs hospitals VA Secretary Eric Shinseki would allow veterans to seek care in private sector hospitals I threw out this question: would our veterans be better off if the Federal government provided them with their healthcare insurance and allowed them to use the private sector for all of their healthcare needs?
I went on to say: Maybe the VA hospitals could be privatized over time for it is my opinion that the private sector, while imperfect, is always a better, and more efficient, option than a government run program.
It now appears as if I am not alone in this line of thinking because today Representative Andy Harris has proposed this very idea. Here is more:
