Harry Reid says criticism of Obamacare is a joke
Harry Reid took to the Senate floor today and called Republican opposition to Obamacare a joke:
We’ve heard things so many times, we would immediately laugh because basically they’re jokes,” Reid said
To date roughly 4.5 million people have lost their healthcare coverage as a result of Obamacare and Forbes estimates the number will eventually climb to 93 million. I would ask Harry Reid to talk to these Americans and ask them if they think Obamacare opposition was a joke or not. I do not think the American people are laughing.
But Harry Reid went on to say this:
The president signed it, the Supreme Court upheld it. It is the law of the land.
This is a true statement of course, Obamacare is the law of the land. But then again, so was slavery back in the day. So does that mean that if Harry Reid was a Senator in the 1800’s he would have found opposition to the “law of the land” to be nothing but a joke? After all it was the Democrats fighting to keep that “peculiar institution” the law of the land. Just saying…..
15 Democrats meet with Barack Obama to express their Obamacare concerns, their petition falls on deaf ears
As America’s Watchtower reported in this post every single Democrat who is up for reelection in 2014 now support a delay in the individual mandate. That is nice, but where were these Democrats when Harry Reid and Barack Obama shut down the government to thwart a Republican effort to delay the mandate? They, of course, were on Harry Reid’s side because they felt the government shutdown would help deliver them the reelection they so covet, so they chose to oppose a delay in the individual mandate.
But a funny thing happened on the way to reelection, the tide turned against them as the American people learned that Ted Cruz and Mike Lee were right all along and now they support what they once opposed.
Now, according to this story these 15 Democrats had a meeting with Barack Obama in the White House regarding this issue: Read more…
I remember hearing a report that convicted felons could become Obamacare navigators and I swear that I wrote a post about it not all that long ago but I cannot seem to find it so perhaps that was a story that I never got to. I find that hard to believe but the Obama regime throws so much at us that perhaps I let it fall through the cracks. But anyway, today Kathleen Sebelius was asked if this were true and she admitted it was:
That is true,” Sebelius replied. “States could have an additional background check and other features, but it is not part of the federal requirement”
So convicted felons, which potentially could include people convicted of identity theft, will have access to your personal information if you chose to seek their guidance through the entanglement known as Obamacare. What could possibly go wrong here?!
Obamacare paperwork designed to make people think they are making more progress signing up for healthcare than they really are
Barack Obama has a penchant for misleading (I prefer lying to) the American people. He mislead the American people when he said we could keep our healthcare plans if we liked them, and now that people are finding out he mislead them on this issue he is trying to mislead them about his promise people could keep their insurance.
With frustration growing among the people who are trying to use the healthcare exchange website and their inability to sign up for coverage Barack Obama is purposely misleading the American people once again. Read more…
Last night at an Organizing for Action event Barack Obama addressed the attendees and actually had the gall to claim that he never promised people they would be able to keep their healthcare plans if they liked what they had.
He made the claim that his promise was always qualified by the word ‘if.’ Here is what he had to say last night:
What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed,” he told Obamacare’s political beneficiaries and contractors.
That’s strange because I do not remember Barack Obama saying anything about not being able to keep your plan if something within that plan changed. Luckily for us in this day and age we have video, perhaps the president forgot about this, so let us take a listen to what he said during the debate over Obamacare: Read more…
New Hampshire State Senator, Martha Fuller Clark involved in a single car accident with a pedestrian–no charges filed
According to this story New Hampshire State Senator, and liberal Democrat, Martha Fuller Clark was involved in a single car accident last Friday when she hit a pedestrian who was wearing full reflective night gear.
She was not charged with any wrongdoing and because she did not “seem impaired” she was not given a filed sobriety test even though she admitted to blacking out while driving.
This is interesting indeed because just a couple of months ago she was involved in another single car accident when she lost control of her vehicle and drove into the median and hit a road sign. She was not given a field sobriety check there either.
She was not even given a citation in either accident but you can rest assured that if you or I were involved in a single car accident where a pedestrian was hit there would at least be some sort of citation handed down, if not charges.
It is almost as if she had a favor to call in but what could it be? Let me think about this for a moment. Oh yeah, it took a moment, but now I remember.
Dianne Feinstein defends Barack Obama’s “you can keep your insurance” lie by claiming that promise was only good until Obamacare passed
I do not intend to spend too much of my time on this story but it is simply too good to ignore. Over the weekend Dianne Feinstein appeared on Face the Nation in an attempt to defend Barack Obama and his now infamous “you can keep your insurance” lie.
Here is what she said, and no, I am not making this up: Read more…
The Republican establishment goes after the Tea Party
The Republican establishment ruling class elite care about one thing and one thing only and that is holding on to power. These ruling class Republicans see a threat to that power and that threat is the conservative wing of the party which is not willing to play nice with the ruling class Democrats–in other words, the Tea Party.
These ruling class Republicans would rather play nice with the Democrats and see the conservative faction of the party as the true enemy and the biggest threat to their power.
This was never more evident than almost one year ago when John Boehner punished conservatives by stripping them of key committee positions for not falling in line with the establishment Republicans, and most recently when we learned the GOP establishment might be preparing to primary Mike Lee for bucking the powers that be in the Republican party.
And the GOP establishment attack on the conservative faction of the party continues for we learn in this article that the elitists in the Republican party will block Jamestown Associates from doing work for conservative candidates in the 2014 elections.
Obamacare: Security concerns arise as at least one website user receives personal information of other users
As America’s Watchtower covered last week, people who sign up for healthcare using the healthcare exchanges are basically forfeiting their right to privacy, but if this story is correct the problem is even worse than could be imagined.
At least one user who actually managed to navigate through the website to sign up for Obamacare actually received the personal information of two other users:
Justin Hadley was using the Obamacare website when he was accidentally sent “eligibility letters” addressed to other people — in other states.
“Justin Hadley logged on to HealthCare.gov to evaluate his insurance options after his health plan was canceled. What he discovered was an apparent security flaw that disclosed eligibility letters addressed to individuals from another state
“I was in complete shock,” said Hadley, who contacted Heritage after becoming alarmed at the breach of privacy.
Hadley, a North Carolina father, buys his insurance on the individual market. His insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, directed him to HealthCare.gov in a cancellation letter he received in September.
After multiple attempts to access the problem-plagued website, Hadley finally made it past the registration page Thursday. That’s when he was greeted with downloadable letters about eligibility — for two people in South Carolina.
While the Obama regime is downplaying the problems with the website roll out as mere glitches in an overall successful program one would find it hard to write this off as simply a glitch. This is not a glitch, it is a major problem; to think that some users could be gaining access to the personal information of other users it totally unacceptable and is symptomatic of a much larger problem with the website.
In this case there was no criminal intent, but this security breech should have everyone who is giving the Federal government their personal information very worried because it shows a serious lack of security. This was unintentional but it makes one wonder how tight the security is and shows us the door is open to hackers with nefarious intentions. If a person who was simply trying to sign up for Obamacare could accidentally gain access to the personal information of other users what could someone do who is intentionally trying to break through whatever security might be in place?
It has recently come to light that the Department of Injustice is investigating JP Morgan for what it calls shady business dealings in China.
JPMorgan Chase admitted it is under investigation by the Justice Department over its hiring practices in Hong Kong, the latest in a string of federal probes and lawsuits against the bank that some believe is motivated by political payback.
Reuters reports that JPMorgan — the largest U.S. bank by assets — disclosed the investigation Friday as part of a routine filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which is also looking into alleged cronyism in the bank’s hiring process in China.
investigators claim that JPMorgan routinely hires young, well-connected Chinese people in order to grease the wheels of important business deals in the country. The bank hired the son of the chairman of China Everbright Group, a massive state-owned financial conglomerate, earning a series of lucrative contracts soon afterward
I admit that sounds pretty bad but it is not unusual and in fact other big bankers which are not facing the wrath of the Federal Government are also involved in the same type of activity: Read more…
