It can be hard to debate liberals at times because they demagogue so many issues: The Republicans want dirty air and water, the Republicans want you to get sick and die, the Republicans are throwing granny off the cliff; these are but three examples of recent Democrat demagoguery.
Well, two can play that game, so here goes: The Democrats are throwing Down Syndrome children over the cliff with Obamacare.
Millions of Americans supplement their healthcare insurance by donating pre-tax earnings to Flexible Spending Accounts through employer based plans. Before Obamacare was implemented the amount an individual could donate to FSAs per year was unlimited, but in order for the government to obtain more revenue Obamacare has placed a limit of $2,500 a year on FSAs.
This change in the law will not affect most Americans as most Americans donate less than $2.500 a year to these plans, but there is one group of people who routinely donate much more money to FSAs than the average American and that group is the parents of children with Down Syndrome. Read more…
Benghazi: Trey Gowdy claims attack survivors are being dispersed throughout the country and given new names
Yesterday America’s Watchtower reported the story that there were dozens of CIA operatives on the ground in Benghazi when the terrorist attack happened last September 11th. It now appears as if most of the survivors of the attack are CIA operatives, and in an effort to intimidate and silence them they have been given multiple polygraph tests to ensure they have remained quiet about what actually happened on that fateful day.
As if this news were not bad enough it just got worse if what Trey Gowdy is claiming turns out to be the truth.
Back when Obamacare was being debated Chuck Grassley managed to slip language into the bill which stated that the members of the Congress and their aides had to enroll in the Obamacare exchanges.
This caught many people in the Congress by surprise because, as we know, nobody bothered to read the bill. As America’s Watchtower wrote about here, once the Congress learned they would be subjected to the law they passed leaders like John Boehner and Harry Reid began to negotiate an exemption for themselves and for their aides, claiming the exchanges were too expensive. One would naturally assume that if the exchanges were too expensive for them it would be too expensive for us as well but Washington really isn’t interested in helping the little people.
Benghazi: Dozens of CIA operatives on the ground during the attack, survivors receiving multiple polygraph tests
CNN (yes THAT CNN) is reporting that during the attack in Benghazi on September 11th which killed Chris Stevens (after he had been raped), Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, and Sean Smith there were actually dozens of CIA operatives on the ground.
It goes without saying that this means that most–if not all– of the survivors are CIA operatives. We have been asking since the onset of this scandal what Chris Stevens was doing in Benghazi in the first place, but now that question must be expanded to include the CIA also. What was the CIA doing on the ground in Benghazi on that night?
Splashed all over the internet today was the story that George Zimmerman was caught speeding in Texas with a gun in his glove box. The headlines were deceiving and the implication was clear: Besides the moving violation George Zimmerman was also guilty of a gun crime. The truth is that while he was speeding, which is against the law, he did nothing else wrong and he was let go with just a warning.
As a man who has not been convicted of a crime, and who has received death threats, he has the protection of the second amendment and the right to defend himself just as he did on the night he was attacked by Trayvon Martin. He has the right to carry a firearm and he was in full compliance with Texas gun laws so there truly is nothing to see here.
But that is not what the propaganda arm of the Obama regime, otherwise known as the mainstream media, would have us believe and that is why this non-story became a story in the first place.
Benghazi: Colonel Bristol to testify tomorrow
The House had been seeking the testimony of Colonel George Bristol in regards to the Benghazi terrorist attack for quite some time but nobody knew where he was and the Pentagon would not say. The Pentagon claimed that because Colonel Bristol was retired he could not be compelled to testify in front of the Congress.
If Colonel Bristol was indeed retired that would be true, but unfortunately is was not true. The Pentagon lied to hide Colonel Bristol from the investigation: yes it is true he is retiring, but no he is not yet retired.
Colonel Bristol is set to retire at the end of July and the Pentagon was trying to delay the investigation long enough to allow Colonel Bristol enough time to retire, and at that point he could not be compelled to testify.
But the Pentagon fell one day short in their nefarious attempt to delay the investigation and on his last day on the job Colonel Bristol will testify in front of the House Armed Services subcommittee.
That’s the good news.
Concord New Hampshire is in the process of using a Federal grant to purchase an armored vehicle. In an age when the Federal government is collecting data on our phone calls and our email correspondence, and in an era where we will see 20,000 drones flying overhead by the year 2020, the obvious question is; why is the Department of Homeland Security, which has purchased billions of round of hollow point bullets, handing out grants to the cities across the nation for the purchase of such vehicles?
We need look no further than earlier this year in Boston. After the marathon bombing we saw defacto Martial Law declared and a militarized police force roaming the streets and forcibly (in some cases) violating the Constitutional rights of American citizens by illegally entering their homes without a warrant.
When one looks back on September 11th, 2001 and thinks about the imagery of that day there are two photographs which probably come to the minds of many Americans.
One is the World Trade Center Cross rising up from the rubble; many people took this as a sign of hope and this image provided them with comfort during a very troubling and distressing time.
But not everyone saw this Cross that way however as an atheist group fought to keep the Cross from being included in the 9/11 Memorial and Museum because it was offensive to non-believers. Thankfully a Federal judge ruled that the Cross could be included in the museum.
The second photograph which comes to mind is the picture of the three firefighters standing amidst the rubble and hoisting the up the American flag in defiance of those who sought to break the will of the American people by carrying out the most successful attack on United States soil.
When I see this picture I see the bravery of the first responders who, without concern for their personal well-being, rushed to the scene while others were running from it with the intent of saving as many people as they could even though we did not know if the attack was over. I see the very heart and soul of the American people.
But sadly, if this story is true, not all Americans feel the same way about this picture.
Here is the open thread for Sunday, July 28th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles as well as discussing whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
As always you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking on the links to the right–I often share articles which I do not have time to write about at both locations. You can also subscribe to America’s Watchtower by email and never miss a post again.
Last week the House voted to allow the NSA to continue its data-mining program on law abiding American citizens because they felt it more important to protect their campaign donations than it was to protect the privacy of the American citizens. This is just another reason why it is time to take a serious look at the New Federalist Party.
You can check out the New Federalist Party’s Facebook page here, and you can also view or download the platform to peruse at your leisure. If you like what you see we are currently seeking both donations and state delegates. If you are interested in becoming a delegate please drop a comment here and I will provide you with the information on what you must do to become a delegate.
Is the spirit of the NSA and the House vote this week I give you the musical selection of the week: Rockwell’s ‘Somebody’s Watching Me’ from, fittingly, the year 1984.
Here are the opening lyrics to the song:
I’m just an average man
With an average life
I work from nine to five
Hey, hell, I pay the price
All I want is to be left alone
In my average home
But why do I always feel
Like I’m in the twilight zone
And (I always feel like)
(Somebody’s watching me)
And I have no privacy
Whooooa-oh-oh
(I always feel like)
(Somebody’s watching me)
But then he closes the song with the following lyrics:
And I don’t feel safe anymore
Oh, what a mess
I wonder who’s watching me now
(Who)
The IRS
He sounds like a man ahead of his time! Enjoy:
