Rahm Emanuel once said that you should never let a good crisis go to waste because it allows you to implement policy which would you would otherwise be able to pass. Barack Obama lives by this mantra, as do many other Democrats, and today Chuck Schumer decided to use the Colorado theater shooting as just such a crisis.
Chuck Schumer, and several other Democrats, decided that in the wake of that tragic shooting it would be pertinent to add a gun control amendment to the Cybersecurity bill. Here is what he is proposing:
S.A. 2575 would make it illegal to transfer or possess large capacity feeding devices such as gun magazines, belts, feed stripes and drums of more than 10 rounds of ammunition with the exception of .22 caliber rim fire ammunition.
This amendment outlaws the future sales or transfers of any weapon with a “large capacity” feeding device because Jim Holmes walked into that movie theater with just such a weapon; it has been reported that his weapon of choice was equipped with a 100 round magazine. The theory for banning large capacity magazines is this; if Jim Holmes had a lower capacity magazine he would have had to stop to reload several times and during one of his down times he might have been subdued before he could continue shooting. However the easiest way to subdue a shooter is if there is another person in the room with a weapon who can take advantage of a momentary pause in the shooting, but that wasn’t going to happen in Aurora Colorado because the theater was a gun free zone. In all likelihood Holmes would have been able to reload several times and no additional lives would have been saved.
Here we have an example of the federal government trying to implement laws to punish law abiding citizens for the actions of one deranged individual. But this amendment is even worse than that when you look at what this amendment would actually ban because this would ban all magazines larger than 10 rounds. Hardly a high capacity feeding device, and in fact quite a normal feeding device for a handgun.
When the Obama reelection propagandist machine called Mitt Romney a felon the accused responded by calling the accusations “absurd” and “beneath the dignity of the presidency” and called on Barack Obama to apologize for this attack. What did the Democrats do? They doubled down and the charming woman with the dazzling and cute smile–Debbie Wasserman Schultz–went so far as to say Mitt Romney needed to “put on his big boy pants.” (She also had the gall to say that Romney was running the most secretive campaign in history in light of the fact that all of Barack Obama’s records have been sealed, but I digress.)
But then when Mitt Romney took to the campaign trail after Barack Obama’s now infamous “you didn’t build that” comment and actually committed the crime of accurately quoting the president Barack Obama started whining like a little baby about being misquoted–Ms. Schulz could not be reached for comment about Barack Obama’s need to put on big boy pants.
Did a United States general, William Caldwell, delay an investigation into an Afghanistan hospital which is funded with United States taxpayer dollars and was called ‘Auschitz-like’ because he was afraid it would hurt Barack Obama politically before the 2010 midterm election? It seems outrageous, but just watch the video of a CNN (of all places) report that I found at The Right Scoop before you rule out the possibility:
Those are some serious charges being thrown out there by an officer still serving in the United States military, here is the main part of his testimony:

Up until this point only Republicans have been willing to go on record as stating they believe the recent national security leaks are coming from the White House, enabling Barack Obama to claim that the Republicans are trying to politicize the issue. But that all changed today when Dianne Feinstein, who just happens to be the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, made the same claim.

She went on to say that she didn’t believe Barack Obama was involved in the leaks, but this still contradicts what Barack Obama said when asked if the leaks were coming from the White House:
The notion that my White House would purposely release classified national security information is offensive. It’s wrong.
But is it wrong? All of the leaks just happen to portray Barack Obama in a very positive light and it also just happens to be an election year, isn’t that interesting? Barack Obama might not have had anything to do with the leaks–even if he did he isn’t stupid enough to leave any type of trail, it would be a wink and a nod type of deal–but someone close to him is involved and it is time to find out who is putting politics ahead of national security in an apparent attempt to help Barack Obama’s reelection campaign. Barack Obama can claim all he wants that it is the Republicans who are turning this into a political issue, but it seems highly likely the leaks were part of a political plot in the first place and today Mitt Romney came out swinging:
This isn’t a partisan issue; it’s a national security crisis,” Romney said. “And yesterday, Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said, quote, ‘I think the White House has to understand that some of this is coming from their ranks.’ This conduct is contemptible,” Romney continued. “It betrays our national interest. It compromises our men and women in the field. And it demands a full and prompt investigation, with explanation and consequence. Whoever provided classified information to the media, seeking political advantage for the administration, must be exposed, dismissed, and punished. The time for stonewalling is over
Mitt Romney is right on the money, it is time to get to the bottom of this scandal. We need to know who it is within the White House who cannot be trusted with national security secrets and we need to prosecute that person to the full extent of the law. Eric Holder and the Department of Injustice appointed two special prosecutors to investigate this scandal, one of whom just happens to be a donor of Barack Obama’s, and the prosecutors were not given independent status which means the Injustice Department can review the findings before they are made public, so one has to call into question just how impartial this investigation is truly going to be. It would seem that the fix is already in.
Michele Bachmann came under fire last week by members of both parties for stating her belief that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the top levels of the United States government–up to and including Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin. Former presidential candidate and current RINO John McCain was among those who said that Michele Bachmann’s claim was baseless, as was the weepy eyed Speaker of the House John Boehner, but according to this story there may be reason for concern:
in order to dismiss Bachmann’s concerns that easily, we have to ignore three huge problems:
1. Abedin’s mother is not only a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, but also sits on the Guidance Board of that organization. Making her not only a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s female auxiliary, but also a prestigious member.
2. Another member of the Muslim Sisterhood’s Guidance Bureau is Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s wife, which means Abedin’s mother and the wife of an renowned Muslim Brotherhood member are in regular and frequent contact.
3. Lastly, Abedin’s brother, Hassan Abedin, has allegedly collaborated with Omar Naseef and Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, two of the most influential terror supporters in the world
Maybe Michele Bachmann knows of which she speaks after all, and maybe our elected officials are just too cowardly to admit the truth, or too enslaved to political correctness to address this issue.

The irresponsible reporting of Brian Ross on the Colorado theater shooting, and it’s time to think about gun control
By now most everyone has heard the story about how Brian Ross tried to implicate the Tea Party in the shooting in a Colorado movie theater the other night, and I hadn’t intended to write a post on it, but the rush to judgement made on a major news outlet by one of its reporters and the utterly irresponsible reporting has really bothered the hell out of me and I can no longer ignore the story on America’s Watchtower.
First, let us look at the transcript of the conversation between Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos:
Stephanolpoulos: I’m going to go to Brian Ross. You’ve been investigating the background of Jim Holmes here. You found something that might be significant.
Ross: There’s a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. Now, we don’t know if this is the same Jim Holmes. But it’s Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado.
Stephanolpoulos: Okay, we’ll keep looking at that. Brian Ross, thanks very much.
I think that it is safe to assume that when most people heard that a crazed gunman had opened fire in a movie theater filled with defenseless fans of the Batman movies our first thoughts were with the victims and their families, but that evidently was not the first thought that came into the mind of Brian Ross. His first thought seems to have been “is there any way we can possibly blame this on the Tea Party” because while investigating the background of the killer (Jim Holmes) he had the strange idea that he should check out the Colorado Tea Party’s Facebook page to see if there was a Jim Holmes listed as a member. Why did this thought occur to Brian Ross? The answer is simple, he wanted to find something there.
Bill Whittle: It’s a Miracle!
Below is the latest Bill Whittle video from the “Afterburner” series and of course it is must watch material. In this video he explains that the reason why Barack Obama doesn’t think anyone can be successful on his or her own is because he has been handed everything throughout his life as doors where miraculously opened in front of him and all he had to do was walk on through.
With the passage of the FAA Reauthorization Act the federal government approved the funding for 30,ooo drones to be used on American soil to spy on law abiding United States citizens by the year 2020. These drones will be used by the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Agriculture, and even on some college campuses. But that is not all, because we learned today in this article that 106 government entities have already been approved for drone use and we can expect that number to climb as time wears on.
We are now on the edge of a new horizon: using unmanned aerial systems within the homeland,” House Homeland Security Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Michael McCaul (R.-Texas) said as he introduced the testimony.
“Currently,” said McCaul, “there are about 200 active Certificates of Authorization issued by the Federal Aviation Administration to over 100 different entities, such as law enforcement departments and academic institutions, to fly drones domestically.”
These drones can fly over cities in the United States and keep tabs on what citizens are doing and they can do this all without a warrant in violation of the 4th amendment and yet this bill was passed by the Tea Party led House, many members of which ran on the promise of returning to our constitutional roots. We have been betrayed by the people who promised to end the era of big government.
When we take into account the fact that the Air Force has declared it is legal for them to spy on the general public without a warrant as long as a specific individual is not targeted but can still turn over information to the authorities which it gained illegally, and couple that news with the fact that some in law enforcement already foresee the day when these drones will be armed and one can easily come to the conclusion that the United States is slipping into a perpetual police surveillance state.
And surveillance could be the least of our problems with the news that the Department of Homeland Security has ordered $450 million rounds of ammunition and the United States was deemed a battlefield when the National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law by the president. Of course there is that nasty little rumor about the FEMA camps as well.
All of this leads me to ask the question: What the hell is the federal government preparing for?

Gunrunner: ATF head threatens potential Fast and Furious whistleblowers with retaliation
In the wake of the Fast and Furious scandal which led to the deaths of hundreds of Mexicans and two Americans Todd Jones was brought into the ATF as acting head of the embattled agency under the premise that he would reform the ATF. Apparently his idea of reforming the agency is actually helping the ATF hide its involvement in the deadly scandal because he released a video to his agents entitled “Choices and Consequences” which certainly sounds threatening to anyone in the agency who thinks about blowing the whistle on this deadly scandal.
Here is part of what he said in the video:
Choices and consequences means simply that if you make poor choices, that if you don’t abide by the rules, that if you don’t respect the chain of command, if you don’t find the appropriate way to raise your concerns to your leadership, there will be consequences
