Gunrunner: GOP to drop Fast and Furious investigation for fear of Holder playing the race card?
If this report is true than it is truly a sad day for the families of Brian Terry, Jaime Zapata, countless families of murdered Mexican nationals, justice seeking Americans, accountability in government, and for law and order. If the story is true John Boehner is prepared to drop the Fast and Furious investigation and stop contempt hearings against Eric Holder because he is afraid he will play the race card. John Boehner apparently feels as if the Republicans will face a lesser political hit for dropping the investigation than they will if they move forward and Eric Holder plays the race card.
they (the GOP leadership) don’t think that they will suffer for [that] failure to follow through. They’re scared of Holder’s race card. . . they’re scared of Trayvon. They think if they let Issa fail, that it will only be a story in the blogosphere for a day . . . that they can weather it.
If this is true–and it is unconfirmed–it appears as if Boehner is making a decision based on politics instead of basing his decision on the facts uncovered in the investigation or doing what is right, and it is a shame that Darrell Issa and Charles Grassley have been sold down the river so that John Boehner can do what he thinks is more politically expedient.
I have nothing else to add to this story at this time other than to state I am totally disgusted with the Republican leadership, and if they are all voted out in November they deserve it for they have let the American people down because they don’t have the courage to do what is right. Why should we trust them any more than Barack Obama to make the tough decisions moving forward if they are to look at everything through a political prism before making a decision? That is how we got into this mess in the first place and if politics trumps everything else when making a decision we have already lost this country.

Barack Obama has declared that Mitt Romney’s record with Bain is a legitimate campaign issue and I agree with him about that, after all Romney is touting his time with Bain as proof that he is a job creator, but there were also losing gambles associated with Bain. Barack Obama is fond of mentioning the people who lost their jobs as a result of Bain’s tactics, so if this is fair game so is Barack Obama’s record. Barack Obama is also directly responsible for laying people off as well for when he took over General Motors he ordered dealerships to close and naturally that means people lost their jobs. And speaking of losing gambles there is Solyndra to look at.
Barack Obama gambled with $500 million of taxpayer money and lost; Barack Obama ignored the warning signs and gambled on Solyndra, the company went belly up and many people lost their jobs. The RNC has launched a new ad about Barack Obama’s ill fated gamble and here it is for your viewing pleasure:
Elizabeth Warren admits she told Harvard she was Native American and wins the endorsement of Massachusetts governor
Elizabeth Warren has finally come clean on the reason why Harvard University was touting her as a minority hire when she admitted on Wednesday night that she did in fact tell Harvard about her supposed Native American ancestry. This of course is in direct contrast with her previous statement that she had no idea where Harvard got that information in the first place. That assertion was ludicrous on its face considering the fact she called herself a Native American in the law school directories and she finally realized she could continue the lie no longer, although she still is claiming to be a Native American without offering any proof of the claim.
Elizabeth Warren changed her story–I guess Barack Obama would call this evolving–several times before finally admitting the truth and I don’t see how any voters could trust her enough moving forward to vote for her; she lied about not knowing how Harvard concluded she was a Native American, and she continues to lie about being a Native American, and in my opinion this makes her untrustworthy. But apparently there are some who still think this isn’t a real issue and Massachusetts Governor Deval–9/11 a failure of understanding–Patrick is one of those people because yesterday he broke his own precedent of not endorsing a candidate before the state Democratic Convention and endorsed Elizabeth Warren over her one remaining opponent, despite earlier saying he would wait until after the convention.
For those of you who do not know the story of what Allen West did while serving in Iraq in 2003 this is a quick summary: Allen West received information that his men were about to be ambushed by insurgents so he grabbed one of his prisoners and fired a gun beside his head and up into the air. The prisoner quickly gave Allen West all the information he required and it is quite likely he saved the lives of his men through this action. For his actions he received a $5,000 fine and has stated over and over again that he would gladly do the same thing again if it meant saving the lives of his men; during his testimony he stated, “if it’s about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.”
At a recent Town Hall meeting Allen West was confronted by a Democrat on this issue and once again he said he would do it all once again, but then said if people wanted to talk about what he did on the battlefield all those years ago then we should also talk about Barack Obama doing blow and smoking pot.

The more that Elizabeth Warren tries to ignore CherokeeGate the worse the news gets for the beleaguered Senate hopeful. Real Cherokees are just a little bit upset with Elizabeth Warren and earlier today one Cherokee group launched a new website called “Cherokees Demand Truth from Elizabeth Warren.”
Elizabeth Warren’s press secretary poo pooed the new website, once again stating it was time to move past the controversy:
Over the past month Elizabeth has answered countless questions openly while the people who recruited her have made it clear it was because of her extraordinary skill as a teacher and a groundbreaking scholar. She is proud of her family and her heritage, and it is something that her family talked about often when she was growing up,” Harney said. “The fact that Elizabeth noted her heritage in a professional publication has been made public and addressed by Elizabeth on multiple occasions. It’s time to focus on the important issues facing Massachusetts. There are real issues middle class families are dealing with every day and that’s where Elizabeth is focused
Needless to say, this did not sit well with the Cherokee group which responded by saying Elizabeth Warren basically “spit in their faces.”
“She just ‘virtually’ spit in our faces. She has not admitted the truth about her ancestry. Until she does, we will not be silent.”
Amid this news come more bad news for Scott Brown’s would be successor because MoveOn.org has announced it may be forced to pull support for Elizabeth Warren as well:
Without a rush of new cash, MoveOn says it will have to give up efforts to elect Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts, help the recall fight against Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, and energize younger voters who’ve soured on Washington.
“It’s like picking which of your kids you love the most. I just can’t do it,” said MoveOn in an email plea. “If we can’t increase our budget, we might have to dramatically scale back or pull the plug on some of MoveOn’s most important election efforts this year
MoveOn.org doesn’t mention CherokeeGate as the reason behind this potential decision but rather a lack of fundraising on its part. The fact that MoveOn.org is having trouble raising money in this all important election year is great news in and of itself, but when chosing which candidates the organization will send money to CherokeeGate has to have been included in this decision.
If this controversy hadn’t blown up into a full scale scandal it is highly unlikely in my mind that MoveOn.org wouldn’t do everything within its power to unseat Scott Brown in the heavily Democratic state. Whether Elizabeth Warren likes it or not she is going to have to hold a press conference and address this issue. Until she does it will only get worse for her and while holding a press conference might not help to stop the bleeding because the damage has already been done, it really is her only option.
You may remember this story from July of 2010: John Kerry bought a new $7 million yacht and in order to avoid paying $500,000 in taxes to the state of Massachusetts (which he represents in the Senate by the way) he decided to register and berth his new yacht in Rhode Island. I have no problem with a person trying to lessen his or her tax burden, and in fact I think everyone should be paying lower taxes, but the problem here is that John Kerry does not feel the same way about taxes.
John Kerry is one of the Washington elitist politicians who feel as if the rich don’t pay their fair share and has called for raising taxes on the rich. Naturally John Kerry supports the Buffet rule and has called for increased taxes to punish those evil rich people even though he has gone out of his way to dodge Massachusetts state taxes on his yacht. And the yacht isn’t the only example: when Massachusetts lowered the income tax rate several years ago the state left an option on its tax forms which allowed anyone who wanted to keep paying the higher rate to do so–John Kerry has never checked that box.
When the yacht controversy became an issue he could no longer dodge John Kerry agreed to cut a check to Massachusetts in the amount of $500,000 for the sales tax he had tried to avoid and the issue disappeared.
But according to this story the Nantucket tax collector’s office has no record as having received the money from John Kerry, yet his office states he paid it last December. Someone is lying here and I can not think of one reason why the tax collector would lie about this when contacted by the Boston Herald.
The New York Times follows Los Angeles Times lead, runs hit piece on Ann Romney for riding horses
Last week the Los Angeles Times wrote what could be described as a semi-sympathetic hit piece on Ann Romney. The piece mentioned the relief that Ann Romney found in the sport of dressing from her debilitating disease, while also mentioning just how expensive the sport can be. The intent was simple: paint the Romney’s as out of touch 1%er elitists while keeping up the appearance of being fair and sympathetic towards her illness.
This also set the stage for a more hard hitting and less sympathetic piece because once the story was out there it could be advanced, and with each advance in the story the focus could begin to shift away from Ann Romney’s disease and toward the price of her hobby. Yesterday the New York Times obliged, running what amounts to the same story with much less sympathy towards Ann Romney with its story entitled, “In Rarefied Sport, a View of the Romneys’ World.” The title says it all, and is close enough to the title of the original article written in the Los Angeles Times (Romney and dressage: A private pricey world) to make it clear exactly what the intent was of these two articles.
The piece mentions Ann Romney’s disease and therapy a couple of times in passing before getting to the crux of the matter; the Romney’s are rich and out of touch with ordinary Americans. The article comes complete with a mention of Mitt Romney’s “couple of Cadillacs” and plans to build a car elevator in their $9 million beach home, but the focus is on Ann Romney and the costs associated with her hobby.
First we have a paper on the left coast advancing this story and then we have one on the right coast run with it less than one week later. Two different papers in two different regions but with the same goal; toxify Mitt Romney even at the expense of his wife and spread the word to as many people as possible. I thought Barack Obama said families were not fair game? The media has taken the president’s advice when it comes to Michelle Obama and her $2,000 dresses and $1,000 skirts but they have not afforded Ann Romney the same luxury.
Memorial Day 2012
Today is Memorial Day; a day in which we honor those who have paid the ultimate price so that you and I may go about our daily lives as free men and women. So often I think that people take our freedom for granted and just assume that because we are free we will always remain free, forgetting what it actually takes to ensure that we remain free.
There is one reason and one reason alone that we are able to sit here day after day and discuss what is happening in our government and write about how we feel about what is happening and that is our right to free speech, and that is a right that many, many brave men and women have fought and have died for and we must not forget their sacrifice.There is not a single day that goes by that I do not think about the sacrifice that these people have made, but today is the day that we must all remember to step back and say thank you.
So while you are at your cookout with your families and your friends; while you are cooking on the grill, drinking a few beers, and laughing with the people that you most cherish, please take just a little time out to remember those that have died to make this day possible.
Let us also never forget those who are wearing the uniform today–and the families they have left at home–to sacrifice a part of their life so that we may live ours. All of those that have ever worn the uniform of the United States are heroes and we must never forget what they have done and what they are still doing.
Now that the Boston Globe has finally weighed in on the Elizabeth Warren/Cherokee scandal Harvard University has decided it can no longer remain silent on this issue either. As reported in this Breitbart article, Alan Ray was the man at Harvard University who was responsible for filing diversity reports with the federal government during Elizabeth Warren’s time at Harvard, and contrary to Elizabeth Warren’s assertion that she has no idea where the university got the information that she was a ‘woman of color’ Mr. Ray claims he always used information provided to him by the people in question–in this case Elizabeth Warren.
[Ray] said through a spokeswoman that he “never encouraged any faculty member to list himself or herself in a particular way.” Ray added that Harvard “always accepted whatever identification a faculty member wanted to provide,” a characterization another highly placed former Harvard administrator backed up.
The university used “whatever identification a faculty member wanted to provide,” they didn’t simply make it up as Elizabeth Warren would like us to believe. And why wouldn’t the university take the word of its faculty members when filing a federal diversity report? After all, it would take an incredibly devious mind, corrupt soul, and an astounding amount of gravitas to claim you were a minority when in fact you were a blue eyed, blond haired white woman. But that is what she did, there is no other possibility if we are to believe Alan Ray and at this point there is no reason to believe Elizabeth Warren because she has lied and changed her story many times since this story first broke.
House committee to hold hearings on turning over internet regulation to the United Nations
Next week the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on Communications and Technology is scheduled to hold a hearing on the possibility of handing over the regulation of the internet to the United Nations. This is a proposal being pushed by China and Russia, not exactly two beacons of freedom of speech. China’s internet censorship is already legendary and Russia appears to be headed in that direction in a slow paced effort to crack down on bloggers who do not toe the line. Is it any wonder that these two countries want to see the United Nations more involved in regulating the internet? But what could possibly be in it for the United States?
At this point it seems highly unlikely that this hearing will lead to any type of legislation; there is very little support in the House or the Senate for such legislation and it appears as if even Barack Obama isn’t willing go this far in ceding United States controls over to the United Nations–yet–but this is something we must keep a close eye on because this should have been dismissed out of hand and the fact that a House Committee is even considering the idea is proof that there is at least some support for these measures. And Barack Obama has been looking for that internet kill switch after all.
Let’s face it; the Tea Party House led by Republicans hasn’t exactly been a beacon of freedom and liberty with the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act and the FAA Reauthorization Act. Because of these laws the United States is now considered a battlefield in the war on terror (which I thought the Obama regime said was over), Americans can be detained and held indefinitely without charge and without a warrant if they are not killed outright because we are now legitimate military targets, so sayeth Barack Obama, and unmanned (and soon to be armed) drones will be flying over every city in America by the year 2020. Just remember all of this as you say to yourself the United States will never allow the United Nations to regulate our internet, and if it does happen to come to pass that the new laws will always be benign.
