I first read about this story over at Conservative Hideout and had to post about it here also. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was holding an event to honor the Special Olympians of his state when disgruntled union employees decided that this was an appropriate venue to protest his anti-union policies. These union employees, dressed as zombies (fitting as they are zombies to union leadership) marched in and block the view of the Special Olympians, ruining what should have been a joyous event for these atheletes.
I respect the right of these people to peacefully protest but this was not the time nor the place for such a protest, they should have used better judgement. Have these people no shame?! They turned what should have been the Special Olympians’ special day into a political event and I find it to be disgusting. Although it is not surprising because we have already seen the regard in which Barack Obama holds these athletes when he quipped during his campaign for president that his bowling was reminiscent of the Special Olympics–they were simply following the example set by the president.
Notice at the end of the video how all of the protesters hold up the closed fisted salute of the communists–it is very telling indeed.
The next step in the constitutional challenges to Obamacare has just taken place in Atlanta Georgia, and it is considered to be the most important decision yet regarding the healthcare reform law because this was the first court case in which oral arguments were heard in defense of the law.
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has not yet released its verdict, but according to this article it appears as if the court is ready to rule the healthcare reform law is unconstitutional because–as this article states–the court has serious concerns over the healthcare mandates.
Chief Judge Joel Dubina, who was tapped by Republican President George H.W. Bush, struck early by asking the government’s attorney “if we uphold the individual mandate in this case, are there any limits on Congressional power?” Circuit Judges Frank Hull and Stanley Marcus, who were tapped by Democratic President Bill Clinton, echoed his concerns later in the hearing.
One judge was appointed by the first President Bush while the other two judges were appointed by President Clinton and it appears as if they all share a concern over the healthcare mandate. When questioned during the hearing about the healthcare mandate, Barack Obama’s acting Solicitor General–Neal Kumar Katyal–made the outrageous claim in defense of the mandate that it wasn’t really a mandate because people could avoid the mandate by choosing to be less successful.
“If we’re going to play that game, I think that game can be played here as well, because after all, the minimum coverage provision only kicks in after people have earned a minimum amount of income,” Kaytal said. “So it’s a penalty on earning a certain amount of income and self insuring. It’s not just on self insuring on its own. So I guess one could say, just as the restaurant owner could depart the market in Heart of Atlanta Motel, someone doesn’t need to earn that much income.”
If you want to avoid the mandate don’t “need to earn that much income” according to Barack Obama’s defense team. And this is coming from the regime that promised Joe the plumber during the campaign that he doesn’t want to punish success–is this not an admission that the Obama regime does in fact want to punish success? It seems so to me, what other conclusion can one come to when reading the defense of the mandate that Katyal claims is no mandate?
This convoluted logic coming from the person who is supposed to be defending the healthcare reform law has got to have these three judges shaking their heads. It seems as if freedom loving Americans are about to be handed the next victory in this fight against the healthcare reform law, and this is a big one. But the fight is not over, even if we are victorious here, because this is headed to the Supreme Court.
Katyal’s performance defending the healthcare mandate has got to help our cause moving forward, it appears as if they caught him off guard and he admitted what many of us knew was the truth all along–Barack Obama is a socialist who is looking to spread the wealth around by disincentivising people who would otherwise strive for excellency by having them settle for mediocrity.
Weinergate: Anthony’s Weiner exposed
When the revelations of Anthony’s Weiner first came to light he should have done the right thing and resigned. But he chose to lie and to use his aides to “investigate” the incident, using taxpayer dollars to coverup what he knew was his indiscretion all along. He claimed he was a victim and attacked the person who “exposed” him and those that dared to question him. All that he accomplished with these antics was to make a bad situation even worse, and now it is getting still worse for the congressman.
As if it wasn’t bad enough that he used his congressional phone during congressional hours on the taxpayer’s dime to have steamy phone sex, and if it weren’t bad enough that this predator who was interested in girls half his age used the internet to advance his “urges” while at the same time sponsoring legislation to crack down on internet predators, Anthony’s Weiner has now allegedly made an appearance on the internet.

Andrew Breitbart claimed to have an X-rated photo of the offending Congress “member” but decided not to release it, however he showed the picture to Opie and Anthony who took a picture of the picture and posted it online.
The media is sure to attack Andrew Breitbart for giving the picture to two people who he probably knew would release it, they will treat him as if he is the one who has committed a crime. But the fact is that Anthony Weiner would not be in this position today if he had simply used better judgement and if he simply lived up to the rules he expects the rest of us to follow. Anthony Weiner has nobody to blame but himself for he alone knows exactly how big and widespread his indiscretions are.
If Anthony Weiner did the honorable thing and he resigned when the story broke–as did Republican Christopher Lee, and he only appeared on the internet without a shirt on–he would have saved himself, his family, and his fellow congressmen the embarrassment they are all going through. But Anthony Weiner was too arrogant to do what is right, he felt this would all blow over but he was wrong.
It is time for Anthony Weiner to take his balls and go home. He has embarrassed himself, his family, his party, the Congress, and the United States of America all because he became so drunk with power that he felt he was invincible and beyond reproach. It is precisely this type of arrogant, condescending, smarmy, elitist attitude by those in the government who feel they are above the law that has so many Americans fed up with the current state of our government.
If you go to his “On the Issues” page you will see that Anthony Weiner proudly sponsored the “Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators” (KIDS) legislation. On this page he states, “the Internet is the predator’s venue of choice today.” He is talking about child molesters in that statement but the irony of this story is just too good to pass up.
Here we have a man who sponsored legislation to crack down on people using the internet to prey on young boys and girls, yet at the same time he was using the internet to prey on girls who were young enough to be his daughters.
When he states that the internet is a predator’s venue of choice it appears as if he has first hand knowledge of the fact. Am I saying that Anthony Weiner is a predator? To paraphrase President Clinton, it all depends on what your definition of “is” is.
In 2008 Barack Obama ran on the mantra of “change.” What he was referring to, of course, was changing from the policies of the Bush administration. President Bush was “The Man” and Barack Obama ran as opposing “The Man,” but there is one problem with using this same angle in the 2012 election because now Barack Obama is “The Man” and if he were to run on the mantra of “change” it might be interpreted that Barack Obama is the one who should be changed. After all, he now owns this dreadful economy, has expanded the war in Afghanistan, started a war in Libya, continued most of the Bush policies he ran against, and imposed healthcare legislation against the will of the people.
His campaign staff has realizes this as well:
However, the president’s team acknowledges that Obama can’t simply reprise his 2008 brand. As the incumbent, “change” this time might mean replacing him in the White House. He can’t ignore the record, both the accomplishments and the setbacks, of his first term.
And here is what his campaign manager had to say:
We ought not to act like an incumbent. We ought to act like an insurgent campaign
Normally an incumbent president runs on the strength of his record, but here we have Barack Obama’s campaign manager urging Barack Obama to pretend that he is not responsible for the policies passed while he was president. While all of the Republican candidates will be running against Barack Obama’s record–as they should–I don’t think we have ever seen a case where the incumbent president also tries to run against his own record. His campaign is urging him to blend into the anti-incumbent mood hoping that the voters will forget who is responsible for the economic and political upheaval now prevalent in the United States.
Because he can’t run on his record, Barack Obama will try to run from his record. This is a stunning revelation from his own campaign manager that his policies have failed; he can try to distance himself from his “accomplishments” but, contrary to Barack Obama’s belief, the American people are not as stupid as he thinks we are.
Mitt Romney was asked late last week at a town hall style meeting in New Hampshire whether he believed in global warming, and if so did he believe it was manmade. His answer should send shivers down the spines of all Republican primary voters who are thinking about voting for him as a viable option to Barack Obama:
I believe the world is getting warmer. I can’t prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe humans contribute to that. I don’t know how much our contribution is to that because I know there have been periods of greater heat and warmth in the past, but I believe that we contribute to that. And so I think it’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and green house gasses that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and global warming that you’re seeing
He believes in global warming, although he cannot prove it, and he believes that even though the earth goes through natural heating and cooling cycles that this time man has something to do with it because he read that it was true. He claims that we must reduce greenhouse gasses in order to stop global warming but he hedges his bet by stopping short of promoting a cap and trade policy, preferring to promote natural gas. Up until now I have resisted writing about Anthony and his Weiner but I can resist it no longer as the double standard is glaring. Back in February of this year Republican Christopher Lee was forced to resign for–gasp–sending a topless picture of himself to a woman via Craigslist. His fall from grace was quick and complete–we will never hear from Christopher Lee again.
Fast forward to Anthony Weiner; he did much the same as did Christopher Lee, but with many more women–and apparently took it much further–and today he admitted as much and yet there is no outcry for his resignation. But this scandal goes far beyond what Christopher Lee did as one of the women he was “involved” with is claiming that Weiner used his congressional office phone during business hours to engage in “steamy phone sex” with her several times.
According to this report, after Obamacare is fully implemented in 2014 at least 30% of companies surveyed said they would “definitely or probably” drop their insurance plans they currently provide for their employees.
At least 30% of employers would gain economically from dropping coverage, even if they completely compensated employees for the change through other benefit offerings or higher salaries
This is something that many of us who are opposed to Obamacare have been saying the end result of this legislation would be. In fact many of us have been saying that the true goal of Obamacare was to encourage employers to drop healthcare coverage in order to eventually set up a single-payer government provide healthcare system.
But don’t just take my word for it, here is what some prominent Democrats had to say:
The Obama regime is discounting the findings of this report but the fact is that the process of eliminating employer based healthcare insurance would be well underway if the regime hadn’t handed out nearly 1,400 healthcare waivers to companies and unions which warned they would drop healthcare coverage if the waivers were not granted. As can be seen in the video I linked above, Barack Obama is a proponent of single-payer healthcare insurance and we are now seeing evidence that Obamacare will lead to this system once it is fully implemented.
Barack Obama has seen the fallout with the American voters on this issue and although he supports running private healthcare insurers out of business he is not so enamored with this position that he would risk his re-election chances to stand up for what he believes in, so he has granted these waivers in order to delay the inevitable destruction of the free market healthcare system until after the 2012 election.
Once the election is over the waivers will expire and companies will begin to drop healthcare coverage and this will force the American people into the loving arms of the government for their healthcare coverage–and that was the goal all along.
June 6th, 2011: D-Day Remembered
“I am quite positive that the order must be given.”
With those words the plan to liberate Europe was put into motion. On June 4th allied ships set out across the English channel to begin the much waited for offensive scheduled to begin on June 5th. Torrential downpours forced the delay of the mission but the ships could not be turned around unless the invasion was rescheduled. Running the risk of being spotted by the Germans, the ships were to sit there and wait for another opportunity.
June 5th, the allied commanders met to discuss the weather and the future of the invasion while troops were floating in the channel with no place to go and nothing to do but wait for the decision whether the order was a go or whether the invasion would be postponed. The seas were rough and the waves were high, crashing down over the landing crafts, many soldiers were sick and all of them were tired. Physically tired, and mentally tired. They were also tired of waiting, if there was to be an invasion they wanted to get it over with. To the troops waiting was worse than fighting.
The weather reports looked bad and most likely another postponement would be necessary but Dwight D. Eisenhower was waiting for the final weather report of the day before making his decision. A postponement now would mean calling off the plans altogether at this point and beginning again at a much later date. With the final weather report came some good news, it looked like there might be a break in the weather at just the right time and just long enough to begin the invasion.
Ike began to survey the other generals in the room for their opinions. Opinions were split, it appeared to some that it was too risky and that the weather report wasn’t good enough, or certain enough, to carry out the invasion. It still looked too risky.
Ironically it was a general who was known for his deliberate and careful pace on the battlefield, a general who many thought (including Ike himself and General Patton) moved too slow and was too cautious who may have swayed Dwight D Eisenhower; when asked, General Montgomery said, “I would say. GO!”
The fate of Europe hung in the balance.
Ike paced back and forth, the fate of the free world and Nazi Germany weighed on his shoulders. All eyes were upon him as he finally turned to the generals in the room and said, “I am quite positive that the order must be given.” That was his order to go and the largest amphibious landing in history was about to get underway; the first attempt at a cross channel invasion since the 1600’s was put in motion.
Knowing that the weather conditions were not ideal, and because of this there was the very real possibility that the invasion could fail, Ike sat down and penned the following statement just in case:
“Our landings in the Cherbourg-Havre area have failed to gain a satisfactory foothold and I have withdrawn the troops. My decision to attack at this time and place was based on the best information available. The troops, the air and the Navy did all that bravery and devotion to duty could do. If any blame or fault attaches to the attempt it is mine alone.”
He folded the piece of paper and stuck it in his pocket. That is where the paper would stay.
On the ships the soldiers listened to Dwight D. Eisenhower’s June 6th Order of the Day:
“We will accept nothing less than full victory!”
June 6th, D-Day. The most important day of the twentieth century. Landing crafts followed the paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne, who were deployed during the night behind enemy lines. The casualties were high, especially on Omaha Beach; many were killed as the doors to the landing craft opened, never even having the chance to leave the landing craft; while many drowned in the waters never having reached the beach. The first to reach the beach faced heavy casualties as the Germans were dug in with fortifications that the slave labor they had captured during the war were forced to build.
They faced a hell that day that is unimaginable to those who were not involved. But through persistence, drive, faith, courage, determination, and a little deception the soldiers of the United States, Great Britain, and Canada kept moving forward, buoyed in the belief that the cause was just and noble. The Germans defended the beaches viciously, but at the end of the day the invasion succeeded, the beaches were taken, and the liberation of a continent had begun.
The Germans knew that the invasion was coming but they did not know where and they did not know when. The Germans thought the invasion would probably be at Pais de Calais because it would provide the shortest path to Germany, and the Germans were also concerned about General Patton, who was actually part of a plan of deception. He was “commanding” a fake army across from Pais de Calais, fully equipped with inflatable tanks. The Germans did not think that an invasion of France would take place without America’s best general, they had no idea that General Patton was actually being punished by Ike and would not be participating in the invasion, they assumed from wherever Patton was, the true invasion would come.
Field General Rommel, the Desert Fox, figuring that the tide was wrong for the invasion, and confident that the weather would not allow an invasion, left the battlefield to buy his wife a new pair of shoes for her birthday.
Adolf Hitler was asleep, and as the invasion began nobody dared to wake him. The Führer had taken over command of the Panzer tank division and nobody could order the tanks to the invasion site but he. As he slept the Germans lost valuable time. By the time the order came from the Führer for the Panzers to get to the scene for backup it was too late. If Rommel was on the scene during the invasion, and if the Panzers were ordered to the scene in time, perhaps Ike would have had to release the statement that he had written in case the invasion failed.
Adolph Hitler was now thankfully in the last year of his life, as was Field General Rommel; both by their own hand. Rommel after being implicated in an assassination plot against Hitler.
June 6th, 1944, the longest day, and the most important day of the twentieth century, the day that the liberation of a continent began. The day that the destruction of the Nazis and the downfall of Adolph Hitler began. A day that must never be forgotten for these men proved that they were indeed from the greatest generation.

Thank you to not only those who fought and lived and those who fought and died on D-Day, but thank you also to all of those who have ever fought in the name of freedom throughout history. It is because of them that I am able to write this today. I will never forget them and I hope that you do not ever forget them either.
Barack Obama’s “Red Right Hand”
While driving to work the other day I decided to pop a Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds CD in; I hadn’t listened to Nick Cave in quite awhile and it would provide a change. One of the songs on the CD I chose is called “Red Right Hand” and it is one of my favorite Nick Cave songs and one of the most popular with his fans.
Most fans tend to agree on where the title of the song came from, but vary on the meaning. The term “Red Right Hand” first appeared in the late 1600’s in a John Milton poem entitled “Paradise Lost,” but there are various opinions on whether the “Red Right Hand” signifies the fiery fury of a jealous and vengeful God, or is the mark of Satan.
I am not about to read the twelve books of the poem to find the true meaning of the term, personally I think the Red Right Hand represents the temptation of Satan with material goods, all I know is this is a great Nick Cave song and it is about an entity who walks the earth making promises to everyone he meets but “ain’t what he seems,” and about halfway through the song I couldn’t help but picture Barack Obama, and how this song seems relevant to the events happening in America today. (The song was written in 1994.)
