It is now being reported that Newt Gingrich will announce his intentions to run for president on Wednesday. While this has been expected and is not really a shocking revelation I feel that it is now time for me to give my opinion of Newt Gingrich and his probable run for the White House.
Newt Gingrich will not have my vote, and here is why:
Newt Gingrich served his first wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery and married the woman with whom he was having an affair. Heartless to say the least, but it doesn’t end there. When his second wife was diagnosed with MS he promptly dumped her and married the woman he was cheating on his second wife with, all the while leading the charge against Bill Clinton for his infidelities.
Much to the chagrin of the Democrats–and Barack Obama in particular–who have “urged” Republicans to not hold the debt ceiling hostage, John Boehner is claiming that the Republicans will not vote to raise the debt ceiling unless it is accompanied by trillions of dollars in spending cuts.
During a recent interview and after a meeting with Joe Biden, John Boehner said that he was optimistic a deal could be reached on the debt ceiling which would include “real spending cuts.” When pressed on what exactly he meant by “real spending cuts” this is what John Boehner replied:
“It is time to start talking about trillions” of dollars, instead of the billions and tens of billions debated in earlier budget battles this year.
Surely Democrats will claim that if the Republicans have their way and manage to trim trillions of spending dollars from the budget old people and poor people will die, and those that do not die will be relegated to eating dog food because this is what the Democrats do. When it comes to the issue of spending cuts the Democrats are nothing more than fear-mongers who will attempt to portray the Republicans as irresponsible, heartless bastards who would rather see people die than continue Washington’s out of control spending. But the fact is that if we do not do something about the deficit and spending we all will die an economic death when the economy collapses around us–this is not fear-mongering, it is the truth because we are currently on a path which is not sustainable.
Before I get into this post let me state that I believe that the basic account of the Navy SEAL operation which took out Osama bin Laden is true; I do not believe in the conspiracy theories which now abound. I believe that the Navy SEALS–under direct orders from Barack Obama–killed Osama bin Laden last Sunday.
Having said that: Only a man as arrogant as Barack Obama can take something as positive, uplifting, and uniting as killing the man most responsible for the terrorist attack on September 11th and turn it into a net negative as fast as Barack Obama has. While the Obama regime acted flawlessly leading up to the military strike which took out bin Laden it is in the aftermath of this attack where the Obama regime has seemed confused and inept.
It all started with the conflicting reports of the attack, this made the Obama regime seem disjointed and confused; unable to get the message they wanted to send to the American people straight. We learned that the Obama regime ordered a burial at sea following proper Muslim burial laws and ordered it to be video taped. This was the first sign that the Obama regime simply couldn’t let go of the politically correct mindset, he wanted to prove to the Muslims that we still treated the most notorious terrorist in the history of the world that we were better than those who look to do us harm.
As a country we go overboard with trying to appease those who would like to destroy this country. We have a growing list of examples–from calling the war on terror an “overseas contingency operation,” to calling terrorist attacks “man-caused disasters,” to claiming we must allow Muslims to built a victory Mosque at Ground Zero to show we are better than they are, to calling the bombing of Libya a “kinetic military action” instead of what it truly is, an act of war–which perfectly illustrate this point.
The latest example of this appeasement is naturally Barack Obama’s decision not to release the pictures of Osama bin Laden with a bullet in his head. The theory behind this decision is this regime’s belief that it would inflame Muslims across the world and lead to violence. I would remind the president that the only Muslims who would be upset at the release of these pictures would be bin Laden supporters, and those supporters have already declared war on the United States. And these people are already inflamed–and always will be–at the United States, they have vowed to destroy us and the fact that the president has decided not to release these pictures will not cause a single one of them to revoke their “death to America” vow.
But this appeasement has been going on long before Barack Obama became the president and one of the most glaring examples of this can be read about here; The prisoners at GITMO have convinced prison guards not to fly the American flag where it can be seen by the inmates. President Bush declines an invitation from Barack Obama to appear at Ground Zero tomorrow
In addition to authorizing the Navy SEAL strike which killed Osama bin Laden I think that Barack Obama did two other things right, and which I applaud. The first is the fact that he called President Bush to personally tell him bin Laden was dead before he announced it to the world. I felt that this showed a certain level of respect to the man who promised to bring bin Laden to justice; a level of respect that was sorely lacking from his campaign. And he extended an invitation to the former president to appear at Ground Zero tomorrow.
Sadly President Bush for undisclosed reasons has declined this invitation. What a great sight it would have been to see President Bush return to the site of the deadliest attack on American soil nearly ten years after his vow that the people who brought down the towers would soon hear from the United States of America to take part in ceremonies now that Osama bin Laden has been brought to justice. For while bin Laden might have been killed on Barack Obama’s watch–and while Barack Obama deserves credit–it cannot be forgotten that it was policies put in place after September 11th that led to the killing of bin Laden. From the “black sites” in Europe, to GITMO, to waterboarding–all policies that Barack Obama promised to end–the role George Bush played in the killing of bin Laden should not be forgotten.
While President Bush personally was never able to fulfil his promise to the American people, we know that he put the system in place which helped to bring the world’s most wanted terrorist down and I think that he should have taken the time to bask in the glory and adulation of the families who lost loved ones on September 11th.
Perhaps he thought he would be out of place, or perhaps he didn’t want to interfere in Barack Obama’s moment, we may never know the reason for this decision, but I feel as if he deserves to be there and I am disappointed that he decided to decline Barack Obama’s offer. I will never forget him standing on that pile of rubble, megaphone in hand, vowing to bring the terrorists to justice, and showing us what true leadership is. President Bush should be there tomorrow, not in an attempt to upstage Barack Obama, but because he deserves some of the credit for bringing down Osama bin Laden.
It is always fun to see liberals turn against Dear Leader and here we have a video of Joan Rivers on the red carpet heading into the recent correspondence dinner in which she drops the “f-bomb’ while berating Barack Obama–and others–for campaigning when there are still two years to go before the election. (I am sure she must be speaking retroactively because is seems to me as if the election is next year, either that or math was not her best subject.) Not sure why she is so surprised he is already campaigning because the fact is he has never stopped.
She then went on to say that actors should stay out of politics and stick to acting, while politics should be left up to the politicians; it is just to bad that she didn’t follow her own advice. Here she is in all her eloquence:
As I stated in this post, I find it ludicrous to think that Pakistan had no knowledge that Osama bin Laden was hiding in his fortified compound in an affluent town right next to a military complex in their country. There is no doubt in my mind that Pakistan was sheltering the world’s most wanted man, and now it appears as if the Congress is starting to ask questions about the Pakistani government’s role in protecting Osama bin Laden.
While it is true that Pakistan has been a United States ally in the war on terror it is safe to say that they have been a dubious ally at best. By aligning themselves with the United States they have estranged themselves from other Arab nations in the region and I think that it is highly likely that Pakistan would have tried to shelter bin Laden in an attempt to help endear them to the nations which we are fighting against.
The Congress is now taking a second look at the United States’s relationship with Pakistan and the billions of dollars we send to them for their “help” in the war on terror. Read more…
With all of the media coverage of the killing of Osama bin Laden there is one question that isn’t being asked, and that question is; What did the Pakistani government know about the location of Osama bin Laden? The former president of Pakistan–Pervez Musharraf–has declared the assassination of bin Laden an attack against Pakistani sovereignty which the Pakistani people cannot accept:
American troops coming across the border and taking action in one of our towns, that is Abbottabad, is not acceptable to the people of Pakistan. It is a violation of our sovereignty,” Mr. Musharraf told CNN-IBN, an Indian news channel
At best the United States’s relationship with Pakistan in the war on terror has been dubious. Pakistan has been an ally out of necessity, but her true commitment to the United States war effort against terrorism has certainly been questionable and there have always been rumors that Pakistan hasn’t been truly outgoing in her efforts to find bin Laden even though he has been rumored to have been hiding out in Pakistan for years.
In the end Osama bin Laden was indeed found and killed in Pakistan, but he wasn’t hiding in the outskirts of that country as was widely believed; he was living in an affluent community right next door to a military academy. Needless to say, I find this highly suspicious.
We are to believe that Pakistan was helping us in the hunt for bin Laden yet he was able to live next to a military academy for years? He built a compound with walls almost twenty feet high with barbed wire at the top, and he built it right next to a military complex and yet the military didn’t think this was strange and the Pakistani government either didn’t think this was suspicious or didn’t know it was there?
I find it ludicrous to believe that the Pakistani government could be this inept and I also happen to believe that they HAD to know where Osama bin Laden was in light of these revelations yet they never gave us his location and they continued the ruse of helping us find bin Laden. I think it is appropriate to ask where Pakistan’s loyalties really are.

The CIA’s “black sites” led to Osama bin Laden’s killing; President Bush has been vindicated
When it was learned that the CIA had “black sites” in Europe where high profile terrorists and persons of interest were being held and interrogated–harshly–in order to avoid granting these murderous scumbags rights granted in the United States constitution the left had a field day. The left, and their all to willing accomplices in the media, used this news to attack President Bush; even going so far as to label him a war criminal.
This bad publicity eventually led to the closure of these “black sites” because, as we were so often reminded, these prisons were in opposition to what the United States was supposed to represent and hurt our standing across the globe. But now that more details of bin Laden’s killing are being made public, we are learning that these “black sites” were essential to yesterday’s killing of Osama bin Laden. Read more…
Osama bin Laden killed in Pakistan by US forces!
Oh what glorious news to wake up to this morning! After years–too many–of searching for Osama bin Laden he has finally been brought to justice. bin Laden was located in an affluent Pakistani neighborhood and special forces were sent in to kill him. Apparently the special forces were helecoptered into his fortified compound, a firefight ensued, bin Laden and a few other men as well as a woman that he was using as a human shield were killed, and all of our heroes made it out alive; the action lasted less than one hour. Perfect!
Here is what Barack Obama had to say about the news:
The president called the killing of bin Laden the “most significant achievement to date” in the effort to defeat al Qaeda.
“Justice has been done,” Obama said.
Bin Laden was located at a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, which was monitored and when the time was determined to be right, the president said, he authorized a “targeted operation.”
“A small team of Americans carried out the operation,” Obama said. “After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.”
I met repeatedly with my National Security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located Bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside Pakistan,” the president said.
“Finally, last week I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action and authorized an operation to get Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice
After learning of bin Laden’s fate, Barack Obama personally called President Bush to give him the news. Here is the former president’s statement:
Bush called the operation a “momentous achievement” that “marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001.”
“I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude,” the former president said in a statement. “The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.”
There are still unanswered questions is my mind: Why did it take so long? And, how long was he living in an affluent neighborhood in Pakistan, and did the Pakistani government know he was there? But those are questions for another day for today should be a day of celebration and I hope that this news can bring a little bit of closure to those who lost loved ones on September 11th.
Once again our brave men and women in the field performed brilliantly and I want to take a few moments to say thank you once again, we all owe you a debt of gratitude. I hope that in the coming days we are able to learn more details about the actual military operation. We may probably never know the names or see the faces of those who carried out this attack for security reasons but I hope they know how much the American people love and admire what you do for us.
