ACORN fires two employees for helping a “pimp” avoid taxes on underage prostitutes
The last two days have not been good ones for ACORN. Yesterday arrest warrants were issued for eleven ACORN volunteers for voter registration fraud, and today ACORN was forced to fire two employees for giving tax advice to a man who was posing as a pimp for underage girls.
A man walking into an ACORN office with a hidden camera posed as a pimp who was trying to smuggle underage illegal immigrants into the country in order to pimp them out and avoid paying taxes. He asked for the advice of ACORN volunteers who were all to willing to help this man in his illegal trade.
When the man posing as the pimp asked how he could explain the income of his underage prostitutes he was advised by an ACORN volunteer to list their occupation as being a “performance artist.” Clever, disgusting, but clever.
This group is one of the most vile organizations in America today. This is just another example of what ACORN truly believes in. This group is going to be involved in the census next year.
Do you really believe that ACORN, the group that has now been indicted for voter registration fraud, should be allowed anywhere near the process that will decide congressional districts in America?
As much of an indictment these two recent developments are on ACORN it is also an indictment on Barack Obama that he would even consider using ACORN in the census in the first place.
Joe Wilson calls Barack Obama a liar
The big news that came out of Barack Obama’s speech on healthcare reform to a joint session of congress was Senator Joe Wilson calling the president a liar. When the president said that it was untrue that his plan would grant illegal immigrants healthcare insurance Joe Wilson yelled out “you lie.”
The question today that is being asked is, was it appropriate for the senator to call the president out in this way? The short answer is that no it wasn’t appropriate but in today’s world with 24-7 news coverage the short answer is no longer sufficient so we must look into this a little deeper.
I would argue that the president calling for a joint session of congress so that he could give a speech in an attempt to bolster his sagging poll numbers and drum up support for his floundering healthcare reform bill was inappropriate in the first place. Possibly even unconstitutional. The constitution says that the president “may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses.” Certainly this was not the type of “extraordinary occasion” that the founders had in mind when they wrote the constitution. The fear-mongering that the president used during his speech (Americans will die it we don’t do anything) in order to control the American people is something that the founders feared. But I heard somewhere that two wrongs do not make a right so I will give him a pass on this issue. But we must go further still.
The president took the opportunity to speak before a joint session of congress that was constitutionally suspect to call everyone who opposed his healthcare reform proposal liars. Is it any wonder that Joe Wilson finally had heard enough and decided to fire back? The president stood there in front of the American people and spoke in an arrogant and condescending manner to all of those who do not agree with him on this issue. He said it was time to “stop bickering” and fall in line with what he wanted. In doing so he continually called the opponents liars, so was it really inappropriate for Joe Wilson to state his opinion?
With the media in bed with the administration and unwilling to investigate what is actually in the healthcare reform bill the president is able to say whatever he wants and is never called to the carpet for it. Joe Wilson really believes, as do I, that the president is lying his ass off and he knows that the president will get away with it in the media. He also knows that if he were to wait until after the speech to make his remark it would not be covered, as is evident by one network which actually missed the first minute of the Republican response, and so this was his one chance to make an impact.
And he has made an impact. A light has been shone on the issue of illegal immigrants getting free healthcare that would never have come into the public’s view and that cannot be a bad thing.
The time for “bickering” is not over. What Barack Obama calls “bickering” is what most people call debate. Debate on an issue is a good thing, it is necessary. Yet the president wants everyone to stop debating and to just accept what he tells us is for our own good.
When the president uses the term “bickering” to delegitimize political debate as if he was talking to his children it is demeaning to the American people. We are adults, we are not little children waiting for daddy Obama to tell us what is good for us.
I, for one, am glad that Joe Wilson called out Barack Obama.
Congressman wants Obama’s czars to testify in front on Congress
In the cases of John Holdren and Van Jones we have seen two examples of Barack Obama sidestepping the senate confirmation process in order to appoint radical advisers, otherwise known as czars, to his cabinet. He has done this intentionally because these people would have never made it through the confirmation process. And he has done this while he still hasn’t fully staffed his cabinet in the traditional way. Hell, we are being led to believe that the swine flu will be the next big crisis yet the surgeon general position still hasn’t been filled.
John Holdren and Van Jones are two examples of the type of people who Barack Obama has managed to appoint to his cabinet under the cover of night without any inquiry into who these people are and what responsibilities they actually have. But they are only two examples, Barack Obama has already appointed 30 czars and nobody really knows who they are, what they are responsible for, or what they believe in.
Barack Obama in effect has created a shadow government probably filled with radicals and we are left to wonder who is actually advising the president. I am not alone in wondering what the hell is going on in this administration behind the scenes but until now nobody in government has questioned what Obama is doing with all of these unconfirmed czars.
That has changed however as we finally have seen at least one congressman step up to the plate and demand an investigation into Obama’s czarships. Rep. Patrick McHenry is calling for Obama’s czars to testify in front of congress about what their responsibilities are.
If the czars have high-level, decision-making authority as their titles would indicate, then it is my concern that their appointment without Senate approval represents a circumvention of our Constitutionally-mandated confirmation process
That is the real concern here; we don’t know what responsibilities any of these czars have. Technically they are only supposed to be advisers to the president but we just don’t know. In the wake of Van Jones’s resignation and the radical views of John Holdren and Cass Sunstein I believe that a senate investigation is necessary. Barack Obama, much as he has done throughout his entire life, has surrounded himself with radicals and we need to find out what the role of these czars really is.
If these czars have responsibilities in addition to advising the president than the president has sidestepped the constitution but even if their only responsibility is advising the president the American people need to learn exactly what type of radical the president is receiving advise from.
The American people deserve to know who is in this president’s cabinet and the only way that we can find out is by investigating these czars and forcing them to testify in front of the senate.
Eleven ACORN employees arrested for voter registration fraud
ACORN likes to defend its voter registration fraud by saying that nobody associated with ACORN has been arrested for voter fraud. That defense is about to come to an end as 11 ACORN volunteers have had arrest warrants issued against them and six are already in custody for voter registration fraud.
It is no secret to anyone who is paying attention that ACORN is a fraudulent, criminal organization and now they are finally going to pay for their corruption. Democrats like to claim that the 2000 election was stolen from them yet they have been willing to look away from the voter fraud that has been committed by ACORN for many years. It is about time that this organization is held accountable for the crimes they have committed.
Obama is open to a tax on soda
While he was running for president here is what Barack Obama said about middle class taxes:
I can make a firm pledge, under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes. You will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime.
Of course this was a lie and it did not take him long to break his promise when he raised cigarette taxes by 60 cents. Unless of course he provided cigarette vouchers for the poor and I am pretty sure that didn’t happen. I guess the word “any” doesn’t mean what it used to and now Barack Obama is open to raising another tax on families who are making under $250,000.
Barack Obama is open to taxing soda and other sugary drinks in order to help pay for his floundering healthcare reform bill. Who does this tax hurt the most? Lower income and middle class families, you know those same families that he promised he would not raise taxes on.
This is something that was not unexpected by many of us, the numbers just did not and up during the campaign and the numbers still do not add up. There is no way that Barack Obama could follow through on all of his campaign entitlement program promises and pay for them simply by taxing the rich and closing corporate loopholes. But the people who sounded the warming alarms were ridiculed and called fear mongers. With the cigarette tax increase we saw the first sign that the administration was willing to backtrack on its tax pledge. Now we are seeing another example of the Obama administration possibly getting ready to tax the middle to lower classes yet again.
But his tax increases on those who make under $250,000 might not stop there either, if Obama’s cap and trade bill ever passes that will be yet another tax on all Americans. Obama has also floated the idea of taxing a person’s healthcare benefits that are received through a person’s employer, a proposal that he ridiculed during the campaign when it was proposed by John McCain. This would be another tax on those same people that he promised would see a tax cut.
Barack Obama still claims that he cut taxes on 95% of Americans, and he did give us a small temporary income tax break but that tax break is just being taken from us with taxes that are more stealth taxes. Smokers are paying more taxes than ever and Obama may be open to taxing people for drinking soda, these people will be paying higher taxes than ever. It is time for Obama to drop the myth lie that he will not raise any taxes on families that make under $250,000.
New Hampshire lawmakers eye an income tax
Last week New Hampshire Speaker of the House Terie Norelli let the cat out of the bag. She has an economic summit planned in which she admitted ALL tax increases will be on the table. This naturally includes once again looking at implementing an income tax.
But the speaker is not alone, Rep. Susan Almy has been trying to keep talk about an income tax hidden from New Hampshire voters because of how unpopular this idea is with New Hampshire residents.
When the Herald mentioned that all forms of revenue, including an income tax, would be part of the discussion, alarms went off all over the conservative landscape. Almy said she expected that reaction, which is why she was working behind the scenes up until now.
She was hiding her agenda from the people she is supposed to represent but she claims that because Governor John Lynch claims that he opposes an income tax that that means there won’t be one.
This is where I take issue with the representative, just because the governor claims that he is against an income tax does not mean that he actually is against an income tax. Governor Lynch is a lying bastard who can never again be trusted to be taken at his word. He proved that to New Hampshire voters after claiming that he was against gay marriage before he signed gay marriage into law.
This is not an issue as to whether you are for or against gay marriage, this is about trust, this is about a man who during the gubernatorial debates swore that he opposed gay marriage and was elected with the people assuming that he was anti-gay marriage only to find out that he was lying to get elected. Governor Lynch claims that he is a moderate Democrat yet when the liberals in the state legislature passed a gay marriage bill, a bill that he claimed that he opposed, rather than stand by his stated position he fell in line with the liberals in his party and signed the bill. And now we are supposed to believe him when he says that he opposes a state income tax? I don’t think so.
I would have more respect for this man if he had run as a gay marriage supporter and won election on his stated position, I could accept that, but he chose to hide his true position in order to win election– that I can not accept. He lied to the New Hampshire voters once how am I supposed to believe that he is not lying about his position on a state income tax?
Judging by Governor Lynch’s actions on the gay marriage issue I can not take this man at his word any more. If the liberals in the New Hampshire Democrat party pass an income tax I am sure that Governor Lynch will acquiesce to them and sign the bill.
During a recession, a recession that Obama’s policies have helped deepen, one has to ask themselves whether it is good policy to be taking money away from people who are already curbing their spending and I think that we all know the answer to that question. If the state government takes even more money away from the people who are still working it will slow even further the spending of those people, deepening the recession. Governor Lynch and his Democrat cronies in the state government need to be stopped. They have done enough damage already.
When you couple John Lynch’s lack of backbone dealing with his own party with the fact that he has cost the state millions of dollars with his failed grab of private money that has left last year’s budget with a $100 million hole you have to figure that the state is desperate to come up with more revenue making it possible that Governor Lynch will use this as an excuse to sign the income tax bill that he claims he opposes.
The real solution would be to cut spending but when is the last time that a Democrat has cut spending? Spending cuts are not an option with this governor so that means that an increase in revenue is the only other possibility.
We just have to hope that we can hold this off until after the 2010 election or else New Hampshire residents are going to have even less cash in their pockets. And that is the last thing that the people need when they are already struggling to get by.
White House admits that Van Jones was not properly vetted
While reading this article about the resignation of “green jobs” czar Van Jones I came across the following admission on page three that Van Jones was not properly vetted.
A White House official conceded that Jones “was not as thoroughly vetted as other administration officials,”
The reason why Jones wasn’t properly vetted?
the official suggested it had more to do with the relatively low level of Jones’s job than with the power of his patrons.
The White House is admitting that Van Jones was not properly vetted and the excuse they are giving is that he was just a low level appointee.
The bottom line here is that any employee that is going to work for the president no matter what level the appointment is considered to be must be properly vetted. Any appointment to the White House is a high level appointment, they are working for the president of the United States, the fact that he is suddenly not considered to have held a high level office is no excuse for an administration that failed to due its due diligence.
The fact that the Obama administration is now admitting that they didn’t properly vet this radical leftist should not sit well with the American people. How many other radical anti-American leftists have also not properly been vetted? President Obama has appointed over 30 czars who escaped the senate confirmation process, if we cannot trust the president to properly vet people who can sidestep the confirmation process how are we supposed to trust this administration? How many other Van Jones-like czars are among the 30 czars that President Obama has working for him and what are their goals?
Obama’s regulation Czar advocates harvesting organs without permission
President Obama, as we have seen with Van Jones and John Holdren, has surrounded himself with radical czars in order to avoid the senate confirmation process and now we have learned a little bit about another of Obama’s czars. The man’s name is Cass Sunstein and he is Barack Obama’s “regulation” czar.
Cass Sunstein has advocated for the idea of the government being able to presume that a person wanted his or her organs donated after they died unless the specifically stated that they did not want their organs harvested. He condones the government harvesting of organs from people who did not consent to organ donation because he feels that people do not donate their organs because they have to choose to donate their organs. I know how stupid that statement sounds, but that is what he believes.
He feels that the government should change the law so that a person would have to choose not to have their organs donated after their death. He feels that people shouldn’t have to choose to donate, they should have to choose not to donate.
The system set up to donate organs is fairly simple, if a person wants to donate their organs they fill out an organ donor card. That is not good enough for Obama’s “regulation” czar, he wants to be able to assume that if you did not fill out a donor card that because you didn’t specifically rule out organ donation you may still want to donate your organs. This is exactly the opposite of the way the system was supposed to work.
While this isn’t as serious as anything that either Van Jones or John Holdren has advocated in the past it does illustrate how this administration views the American people. They feel that they should be able to dictate to us how we should behave because they know what is best– even upon death.
Van Jones resigns from Barack Obama’s cabinet
Van Jones is Barack Obama’s “green jobs” czar and he is also an admitted communist who believes that white polluters are steering poison into black neighborhoods. He has gone even further with his racist views when he stated that only suburban white kids shoot up schools. Evidently he missed the news story about the Virginia Tech shooting.
And let us not forget that this man is a 9/11 truther. He believes that the United States government was behind the September 11th attacks. Van Jones is a radical and today he is also unemployed.
Van Jones has resigned amid the controversy surrounding him and it doesn’t come a moment too soon. While this is great news it doesn’t excuse the fact that Barack Obama appointed him to a czarship in the first place. It is disgraceful but not surprising that Barack Obama would have a man like this as an adviser. This man should never have been let anywhere near the White House in the first place.
But is says almost as much about Barack Obama that he would have such a radical adviser as Van Jones’s radical views say about him. Barack Obama has over 30 czars and he has them for one reason and one reason only– he doesn’t have to get them confirmed by the senate. Van Jones is an example of why Barack Obama chose to hire 30 czars and not make them official cabinet appointments– many of these czars would not make it through they confirmation process. John Holdren, Obama’s “science czar” is another example of the type of radical that the president has manged to sneak into high level advisory jobs. John Holdren has touted forced abortions and sterilization, advocated giving trees the right to sue, and believes that America should be held to “zero economic growth,” this is not the type of man that should ever be near the White House but he is because he never had to be confirmed.
While these czars did not have to be confirmed by the senate I would hope that the president still took the time to have them vetted, although we saw how thorough Obama’svetting process was with all of the tax cheats he ended up nominating to cabinet positions, and if he did have Van Jones and Eric Holdren vetted than he must have understood their positions on the issue. That being the case we can only assume that Barack Obama shares these views, or is at least sympathetic to them.
With an unprecedented number of unconfirmed czars advising the president who knows what other radicals the president has hidden in upper level advisory positions.
Barack Obama is a radical, he grew up and befriended radicals his whole life so it is only natural that he would bring his radical views and people who share his radical views to the White House. So while Van Jones has resigned we are still left to wonder who else is in the White House advising President Obama and what are they telling him?
