Obama Administration to Investigate the CIA For Abuses

I know that I am supposed to be on vacation but while we were still getting ready to head out for the day I came across this story about the possibility that Eric Holder is going to investigate the CIA for abuses and I had to write a quick post.
This investigation will be focused on whether the CIA went beyond even the measures that were allowed under the Bush administration not whether the Bush administration went to far. This will please some on the far left but because this is not an indictment of Bush’s policies, (at least not in the beginning, they will probably try to expand the investigation.), it will not be enough for the far left that still have wet dreams about seeing Dick Cheney and George Bush taken away in handcuffs.
I find the timing of this announcement suspicious coming just two days after we learned that President Obama probably committed a crime by setting up a watch list on the White House website. A classic diversionary tactic designed to deflect the attention of the public. But he had better be careful, this could come back to haunt him. If he sets the precedent of investigating previous administrations based on policy differences he will be next.
The crime that President Obama has probably committed is not going to go away just because he opens up an investigation on the CIA and neither is the evidence of his alleged crime unless the White House deletes the emails, and that will be another crime. He is treading on dangerous waters here. He has to ask himself, “do I want all of my actions investigated after I leave office?”[End]
Vacation
I probably won’t be posting this week but have no fear, I have not been taken in by the administration for opposing the president’s healthcare plan. At least not yet, I am still waiting. The family and I will be away on vacation.
If a story comes up that I just can’t ignore I will write a mobile post if I have the time. This post will be stickied until I return so if I do write anything it will be located below this post.

Mr Pink Eyes
I have written about the White House website’s blog in which people are being asked to report other citizens who spread anti-healthcare emails and even those who engage in casual conversations in which they claim to oppose the president’s healthcare plan. I have even turned myself in to the White House’s “flagged” list, so far I am still here.
This attempt to stifle free speech and debate on the issues by the administration is coming under heavy fire by legal experts.
This is a very troubling attempt to stifle the free speech of Americans who have the constitutional right to express their opinion and concerns about health care,” said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice.
This move is an attempt to intimidate those who have legitimate concerns about the health care plan,” Sekulow said. “And, worse, it turns the White House into some sort of self-appointed ‘speech police.’ This new White House reporting program strikes at the heart of the First Amendment and has no place in this important debate about health care.
Even the ACLU chimed in, although with a rather tepid response.
The ACLU said in a statement to FOXNews.com that the White House blog is a “bad idea that could send a troublesome message.”
But the organization added, “While it is unclear at this point what the government is doing with the information it is collecting, critics of the administration’s health care proposal should not fear that their names will end up in some government database that could be used to chill their right to free speech.”
It the ACLU was really looking out for us they would demand to find out what the White House is doing with the information that it is collecting.
But the White House could have actually committed a crime by setting up this “flag” list, it is illegal for the government to collect data on people who oppose the administration.
The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it,
This is a violation of a law that was signed after Watergate and if you think about it this is in the same vein as Watergate. The government may be trying to collect data on people who oppose the administration, sounds a little similar doesn’t it? The only difference here is that in this case we have the administration trying to turn every willing American into spies.
It is also a crime for the administration to delete the emails it receives so these emails to the “flagged” list must be there somewhere. The question is where? It is time that we found out. There needs to be a full investigation into what the administration is doing with the emails of their opponents.
There is the very real possibility that a crime has been committed by the Obama administration and if this is so somebody has to be held accountable. All communication between the White House blogger that posted the “flag” department and the White House itself must be seized. We need to get to the bottom of this. The rights of the people may have been violated by an over-reaching power hungry president. Or at least by somebody in the administration, we need to find out who knew what and when they knew it.
If it has been found that President Obama had anything to do with this and if it is found that the White House has indeed been collecting data on political appointments than it will be time to start impeachment proceedings.
If it is found that the White House has been flagging people who oppose the administration than the first amendment rights of all those who have been reported to the White House have been violated by the very man who swore an oath to uphold the constitution. If this does not merit removal from office I would guess that nothing does.
Nancy Pelosi is either counting her chickens before they hatch or she is trying to put a happy face on the healthcare reform bill. She is claiming that she is confident that she has the votes to pass healthcare reform.
“I have no question we have the votes on the floor of the House”
But this isn’t necessarily the case. Representatives have returned home for their August recess only to face enormous criticism for the healthcare reform bill. But Nancy Pelosi has more to deal with than the Blue Dog Democrats who may eventually turn on this legislation after they feel the heat from their constituents; this bill may be losing support with more moderate Democrats also.
Concerns about providing abortion with taxpayer dollars, taxing small businesses, and adding to the federal deficit — coupled with political turmoil in their home districts — means that even Democrats aside from the so-called Blue Dog fiscal conservatives have expressed reservations about the House bills as they now stand.
And on top of that little problem is the fact that liberal house members are unhappy with the deal that was struck with the Blue Dog Democrats. The Democrats are not united on this issue, this could be what ultimately brings down this legislation.
Now is the time to keep the heat on, keep writing, calling, and emailing your representatives and senators. Now is not the time to back down, we can win this fight. Support for this legislation is dwindling but now is not the time to sit back and feel satisfied that this legislation will be killed, it probably will still pass. This bill may be in some trouble but it is not dead. We need to keep the pressure on until this bill is stopped. We can do it but we must stay on the offensive.

William Jefferson Found Guilty of Bribery
William Jefferson, who could possibly be one of the most despicable people in politics for his actions after Hurricane Katrina, has been found guilty on eleven counts of bribery and money laundering. In case you have either forgotten or had not heard about William Jefferson’s actions following hurricane Katrina I will give you a quick recap.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, during the rescue efforts, William Jefferson ordered a boat that was supposed to rescue people from the floods to take him to his flooded out house so that he could retrieve almost $100,000 in bribe money. While he was trying to cover his own ass he left hundreds of victims sitting on their rooftops, delaying their rescue so that he could attempt to hide his bribe money.
He now faces twenty years in jail and he may never see freedom again. This is well deserved on two counts. As bad as accepting the bribe money was, it might have been a more despicable crime for him to order rescuers away from thier mission in order to protest his ill gotten gains.
Building “Cloud Ships” to Stop Global Warming
I haven’t written anything on the lunacy that is the global warming movement in quite a while but when I read this story I had to break my silence. Some scientists in the United Kingdom and the United States are proposing that “cloud ships” be manufactured that would spew man-made clouds into the air to block the sun’s rays thereby stopping the warming of the planet.
This isn’t a totally new idea as it has been suggested before that we should spew pollution in the air to block the sun’s rays. Spewing pollution to save the earth from the pollution that is supposedly damaging the earth, I know it doesn’t make sense but this is the lunacy we are dealing with on this issue. But the idea of building “cloud ships” to block the sun’s rays to save the earth and the idea that spewing pollution into the air to block the sun’s rays in order to save the earth do have one thing in common. The objective is to block the sun’s rays. This is a slight admission on the part of the global warming alarmists that it is the sun that is heating the earth, in other words the heating of the earth is natural and not man-made.
What a novel concept.
Democrats Try to Delegitimize Healthcare Reform Protesters
Members of congress have returned home and they are facing angry constituents. Between protesters at town hall meetings and telephone calls and emails US representatives are getting an earful.
Are they going to listen to us? That remains to be seen, so far top Democrats are trying to trivialize us. Instead of listening to the protesters they are downplaying us. Much like they scoffed at the Tea Party protests and called the protesters nothing but fringe radicals and racists, they are doing the same when it comes to healthcare reform.
These are nothing more than destructive efforts to interrupt a debate that we should have, and are having,” Reid said. “They are doing this because they don’t have any better ideas. They have no interest in letting the negotiators, even though few in number, negotiate. It’s really simple: they’re taking their cues from talk show hosts, Internet rumor-mongerers … and insurance rackets
First he says that we are trying to have a debate and then he goes on to say the reason we are protesting is because we don’t have any ideas. Which is it Harry? We are trying to debate and show you that we do not agree with you. You say we are having a debate yet you ridicule those on the other side of the debate, that sounds more like Chicago thug politics than political debate to me. If you were honest you would listen to your critics’ point of view, not minimalize their opinions.
Nancy Pelosi said that protesters are carrying swastikas yet offered no proof, slanderous accusations in order to hide from the debate.
Barbara Boxer said that all we are trying to do is hurt the president.
Other Democrats are complaining that those who ask critical questions at these town meetings are nothing more than GOP plants and do not represent an independent position. They claim that these protests are false and that they are orchestrated events.
There is probably some GOP involvement here but even if there is, so what? There is definitely some organization here, so what? Since when did it become wrong to organize opposition to legislation in order to be heard? This is part of the American system. What was Code Pink if it wasn’t a politically organized protest group of the left. This is nothing more than that except that these protests are coming from the right. While Code Pink was held to almost godlike status the same type of behavior from the right is seen as counterproductive and destructive. The double standard is in full display here.
I happen to find it encouraging that the right is finally starting to organize, mobilize, and vocalize in the name of issues that are important to us. We have been silent too long and it is about time that we wake up.
The Tea Parties were only the beginning, we are now energized and we will remain energized until the 2010 elections. The left is trying to delegitimize us because they fear us, they know that we are a potential problem in the next election. So instead of debating us and instead of listening to us they are trying to make a mockery of us. But it will not work. We will prove to them next year that we are not going away.
Secretly they know this that is why they are trying to do damage to us. The damage will be done, but is us who will do the damage in toe 2010 election. They will listen to us then, they will have no choice.
As bad as the healthcare reform bill is, there could be something good that comes out of it. With congress tied up trying to pass government run healthcare the climate change bill passed by the house earlier this year may fall by the wayside. I guess every cloud has a silver lining.
Healthcare reform is seen as a higher priority than the climate change bill and because of this no action is likely to be taken on climate change until a vote is taken on healthcare reform.
The reality is [the health reform bill] is going to happen before cap and trade,” said House Agriculture Committee Chairman Rep. Collin Peterson, who’s been working with farm-state senators on the climate legislation. “Who knows if it will ever come out of the Senate?”
It does make me wonder though. If healthcare reform is more important than cap and trade why did the house tackle cap and trade first? It is quite possible that a healthcare bill could have already been voted on if it was put forth before the cap and trade bill. It seems as if the congress’ ineptitude has put both bill in jeopardy and for that I am extremely grateful.
In a prefect world cap and trade will fall by the wayside and after congress hears from angry constituents so will healthcare reform.
It seems as though we are constantly being asked to sacrifice under this regime. We are told that sacrifices must be made for the common good and we are told that we must sacrifice to save the planet from global warming.
It would seem to me that those arrogant bastards that ask us to sacrifice might try to set an example by dong the same, but alas, that is not the case. As the government spends money that it doesn’t have and as the deficit grows instead of “sacrificing,” the same government that is asking us to sacrifice is on a spending spree. There is no “sacrifice” coming from congress as they recently approved $200 million to furnish themselves with new jets to fly them around wherever they go.
If these people had any decency whatsoever they would not ask for these new jets when millions of Americans cannot find work and are having trouble feeding their families. The government is constantly raising taxes and spending, it sure seems to me that it would be a better idea to cut taxes, as well as the funding of these jets, and give more money back to the people that Barack Obama pretends to care so much about.
As families are having trouble making ends meet our government is spending millions in order to insure that they can travel in gas guzzling, environment destroying planes. This is hypocrisy on two levels and it should not be tolerated any more.
Mr Pink Eyes Turns Himself in to the White House Watch List
Well, I followed through on my promise in my last post to turn myself in to the White House watch-list as a dissident to the healthcare reform bill.
In case you hadn’t heard, the White House website now has a form that you can fill out to report people who oppose government run healthcare. Big Brother is watching.
