Obama Official Has His Office Raided, Two People Arrested
Today the FBI raided the old office of Vivek Kundra, the president’s nominee as a technology official, and arrested two people on bribery charges. The names of the two men who were arrested are Yusuf Acar, and Sushil Bansal, we are told that Kundra himself is not a target.
As I write this Kundra has taken a leave from his post. One of Kundra’s duties is to coordinate the federal computer systems and one person who was working under him, Acar, is being held without bail while another person who was working under him was released and ordered not to conduct any overseas transaction.
Whether or not Kundra eventually becomes a target of this investigation, this is an explosive scandal. The man who is in charge of the federal computer system hadtwo men who have been scammingthe government working under him. As his boss he is responsible for them. This leave needs to be made permanent. There is no way that this man can go back to his job without it being a major thorn in the side of President Obama. President Obama should persuade Kundra to step down to avoid providing the administration with any further embarrassment.
This is yet another black eye and a huge embarrassment for this administration. And this is the last thing that President Obama needs. But it is of his own doing. This president has a longhistory of hanging around with very shady people, I won’t even bother to go into the list, everybody knows it by now. So is it any surprise that a person that Obama nominated to a cabinet position has some shady issues, if not directly then through the people that are working for him? You reap what you sow.
During the campaign many of us tried to warn people of Barack Obama and his shady acquaintances but we were met with extreme skepticism. Now we are seeing why many of us were concerned about the people that he decided to hang around with. His acquaintances showed Obama’s bad judgement and with all of the problems Obama has had filling out his cabinet we are seeing that bad judgement coming back to haunt him.
During the Bush years we were subjected to months on end of phony scandals and investigations drudged up by the left, the Valerie Plame fiasco comes to mind. The investigation yielded the result that there was no wrong-doing by any Bush administration official. The only arrest that was made was Scooter Libby for lying to investigators because there was no other crime committed.
Here we have a case of two people who were working under a man who is an official in the Obama administration, who were arrestedfor a crime much worse than lying. Where is the outcry from the left? Bush, Cheney, and Rove were accused by the left of many crimes but none were ever proved and yet there is still outcry to this day from the far left.
It will be interesting to see if any of these same people come to the defense of these men. I don’t think they will come to their defense, I think they will just remain silent on this issue. But their silence will be an indictment on themselves just as it would be if they were to defend this nominee. Their silence is, in effect, their defense of these men.
When I claim that President Obama is a master of saying one thing while he is doing the opposite this is exactly what I am talking about. Today this is what the president said:
The awarding of earmarks to private companies is the single most corrupting element of this practice, as witnessed by some of the indictments and convictions we have seen,” Obama said at the White House. “Private companies differ from the public entities that Americans rely on every day – schools, police stations, fire departments – and if they are seeking taxpayer dollars, then they should be evaluated with a higher level of scrutiny
He went on to say that he was going to introduce new earmark reforms. How can I argue with that? After all, I am in favor of earmark reform. I am glad you asked, I am going to tell you why I am opposed to that statement. While Obama claimed that he was going to introduce earmark reform he made the announcement while he was signing the $410 billion omnibus bill that contains more than 8,000 earmarks.
This is the way that he operates. He publicly makes a statement while doing the opposite but his statement sounds so good that the lemmings just sit there in awe and tell themselves how wonderful Obama is for proposing these reforms and they don’t even bother to notice that he just signed 8,000 of the earmarks he promised to reform into law.
Just like with the stimulus bill he used the excuse that the bill was so fucking important that he couldn’t be bothered to wait for a bill that had less wasteful spending.
I am signing an imperfect omnibus bill because it is necessary for the ongoing functions of government”
He had to sign the bill, flaws included because, in case you didn’t hear, he inherited this problem. Therefor it is Bush’s fault that he had to break not only a campaign promise but also a promise he made while he was signing this bill.
But in the future he is going to veto all of the bills that have wasteful spending in them. You will just have to trust him on that, but so far his actions tell us otherwise.
Just one more question, who decides what spending is wasteful? If the answer to that question is Obama, and I think it is safe to assume it is, than I think there is no spending that this president will ever consider wasteful.
If you are curious to the type of cases that President Obama’s justice department intends to prosecute,this should give you an idea, and a sick feeling in your stomach.
The U.S. Justice Department said in a letter to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio that investigators will focus on alleged patterns of police discrimination based on national origin.
But the letter that Arpaio received from the DOJ contains no specifics on his alleged crimes. Arizona is involved in a federal program that allows local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration laws. It would appear that because local law enforcement is enforcing federal immigration laws, which is in compliance with federal law, that the DOJ is going to press charges against Arpaio for racial profiling.
So let me try to wrap my arms around this. Mexicans are illegally sneaking across the border. Arizona is enforcing federal law to stop Mexicans from illegally crossing the border. The federal government is going to press charges against the sheriff who enforces federal law to stop Mexicans from crossing the border because he is targeting Mexicans.
It all makes perfect sense, at least under this administration. Let me ask the obvious question, if we are trying to stop Mexicans from illegally crossing the border than what is wrong with targeting and stopping Mexicans?
But that is life under the politically correct Obama administration. This is what kind of cases we can expect to see pursued under President Obama’s administration.
This issue coupled with the fact that 15% of all jobs created under Obama’s stimulus package will go to illegal immigrants should be enough to show everyone where Obama’s heart really is.
Political correctness has gone too far. Be afraid, be very afraid.
In 2001 James Carville Said That He Wanted Bush to Fail
I have already made my one obligatory post about the whole Rush Limbaugh/Barack Obama cat-fight and I have made my position known on the (non) issue. But when I saw this story about James Carville and how just minutes before the planes crashed into the World Trade Center he said that he hoped President Bush would fail I just had to write about the hypocrisy of this asshole.
On September 11th 2001 James Carville said “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.” If he was hoping that President Bush doesn’t succeed than he was hoping that President Bush failed. But just last week I heard the very same, but this time appalled, James Carville on Don Imus’ show, (I swear I was just surfing the presets), and I heard him talking about how Rush Limbaugh crossed the line on January 16th when Limbaugh said that he hoped Obama failed.
Did he forget that he wished the same on President Bush? The media certainly did. Somehow this was not an issue with the media back then the way it is now.
Within minutes after Carville said that he didn’t want President Bush to succeed, the planes flew into the World Trade Center and while he said at that point,”disregard what I just said! This changes everything!”, one has to wonder if he wasn’t secretly happy.
Guns Are Flying Off the Shelves in New Hampshire
There appears to be one retail business that has not been affected by the recession and we all have President Obama to thank for it. The business in question is gun shops. I have written a few posts about the increase of gun sales since Obama became president and here in New Hampshire gun sales are through the roof and they have been since the middle of October when it became apparent that the biggest enemy to the second amendment ever to gun for president was probably going to get elected.
Since that time semi-automatic weapons and ammo have been hard for gun shop owners to keep in stock. President Obama is not a friend to gun owners, he is an enemy to the second amendment. (Which in my opinion makes him an enemy to the constitution.) New Hampshire has rather lenient gun laws, the right to keep in bear arms in this state is one that residents are passionate about, so passionate that even Governor Lynch and his liberal buddies haven’t dared to fuck with it for fear of repercussions at the voting booth.
The New Hampshire constitution is very cut and dry when it comes to the right to bear arms, more-so than even the United States constitution. From article 2-a of the New Hampshire constitution; “ all persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.”
And we take that seriously. Residents in New Hampshire are afraid of President Obama’s gun policies and because of this his presidency has led to a shopping spree in New Hampshire on guns and ammo.
Residents of New Hampshire are afraid that President Obama is going to infringe on our rights to keep and bear arms, he is going to thwart our state constitution. That is why gun sales are booming even while the economy continues to worsen. It is just too bad that the resolution to re-establish our states rights under Jeffersonian principles failed last week in the house. We may have needed that resolution to keep our constitutional right under the Obama administration.
People are beginning to realize that global warming is a hoax. According to this poll a record number of Americans believe the issue of global warming is being exaggerated. While they may be unwilling to call it an outright hoax, probably because they don’t want to seem uncaring, it is nevertheless good news that people are beginning to second guess what they are hearing reported on this issue. The more the people question what they hear on global warming the more people will realize they are being scammed.
While there is still a majority of people who are falling victim to the hype the number is falling. And it is falling drastically.
As recently as 2006, significantly more Americans thought the news underestimated the seriousness of global warming than said it exaggerated it, 38% vs. 30%. Now, according to Gallup’s 2009 Environment survey, more Americans say the problem is exaggerated rather than underestimated, 41% vs. 28%.
In 2006, 38% of the people believed that seriousness of global warming was being underestimated compared to just 30% who felt the seriousness of global warming was overestimated.
In this latest poll the trend has not only reversed, it has significantly reversed. The amount of people who feel the seriousness of the problem is underestimated has fallen by 10% to 28% while the number of people who believe the seriousness of the problem is overestimated has risen to 41%.
This is a complete turnaround in the minds of the American people on the issue of global warming. I think that it is directly attributed to the alarmists overplaying their hand.
In the effort to scare the American people into paying higher taxes and fees, and also coercing them into giving up personal liberties before it is too late to save the planet the alarmists have pushed to far. All you have to do is search this blog to see many of the ludicrous things that the alarmists have blamed on global warming.
The alarmists went overboard on not only what causes global warming but also what will happen because of global warming. They passed from the merely ridiculous arguments into the absolutely insane arguments and they are beginning to make people question the issue as well as their motives for pushing the issue so vehemently.
People are beginning to question the authorities on this issue but the question remains, is it too little too late? With this president in the White House, a global warming believer and cap and trade proponent, do we have time to stem the tide of the higher taxes that are bound to come our way in the name of saving the planet?
Our numbers may be growing but I fear it is too late.
I first wrote about Chas Freeman, Obama’s nominee for the National Intelligence Council, and the conflict of interest that he has with this position here. Today he withdrew his nomination for the position.
This is yet another embarrassment for the president. If my count is correct this is the fourth cabinet nominee to withdraw his name from consideration for the position they were nominated to.
Here is what Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) had to say about the president’s latest black eye:
The administration made yet another mistake not doing its homework before nominating someone to a senior position of unique sensitivity, and then learned from the press further and further embarrassing details,” Kirk said. “He was heavily encumbered by multiple conflicts of interest involving Chinese, Saudi and other business dealings that all should have been disclosed long before
It sure as hell sounds as if the president isn’t doing his homework in regards to many of his nominees. It is beginning to sound like President Obama didn’t think that he would be second guessed on his nominations. It sounds like he is so arrogant that he just assumed that everyone woulf fall in line with whatever he decided to do.
He is learning a hard lesson, at least I think he is learning, and that lesson is just because he is the anointed one that doesn’t mean that all of his decision will be rubber stamped just because HE believes he is right. The president may actually have to put a little effort into some of these picks or he will never fill out his cabinet.
Senate Doesn’t Have the Votes to Pass Obama’s Budget
It appears as though President Obama does not have the votes in the senate to get his budget passed. This is the best news that I have heard coming from the senate in a long, long time.
This news is coming from the Senate Budget Committee Chairman and it is music to my ears.
“Anybody who thinks it will be easy to get the votes on the budget in the conditions that we face is smoking something,” Conrad said.
It sounds like the cap and trade tax proposal is going to be a sticking point in the budget, he is warning Peter Orszag, White House budget director, not to “draw lines in the sand” on this issue. There are a number of senators who feel that the impact of the increased energy costs on average Americans isn’t address in the budget.
While the president is able to claim that he is giving a tax break to 95% of Americans he fails to mention that his proposals, such as cap and trade, are going to raise the prices of necessities on those same Americans, not only negating the tax break but exceeding it.
There are other issues with this budget, the excessive spending during a recession is just plain irresponsible. It is about time that our senators stood up and said that this is not affordable.
Judd Gregg is warning the president not to try to mauveur his way around the spending in this bill by attaching the items that the senate doesn’t agree with to special budget bill.
Gregg said that attaching a cap-and-trade or healthcare plan to reconciliation bills, which need only a simple majority to pass, would be an “outright act of violence” against the Senate, where most legislation needs 60 votes to advance.
Those are harsh words, especially coming from someone who very nearly joined Obama’s cabinet.
We can only hope that enough weak kneed Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats will hold the line and dig in on this budget proposal. It is time for the president to realize that he does not have a blank check with the taxpayer’s money. The Senate needs to hold his feet to the fire until he agrees to cut down on the spending. The country simply can’t afford this budget.
I hope that the president will realize that it is time to cut the budget down, but I fear that the senate will end up actually adding more spending to the bill. I am afraid the senate will use this as a means to add earmarks to the senators’ states who are holding out in an effort to gain those votes. In essence, I fear that the senators who are holding out are just waiting for a little money to be thrown their way, a bribe if you will.
I only hope that the senate isn’t using this threat as a bargainingchip to add money for their districts. I hope they are sincere about cutting down the spending in this bill. Forgive me if I am cynical.
There were people who claimed that President Obama was not ready to be president and there were people who claimed that Obama didn’t know what he was getting himself into and according to this article that may indeed be the case.
President Obama is tired, too tired in fact to properly meet the Prime Minister of Britain. So tired in fact that he didn’t look into the fact that Gordon Brown was going blind before he gave him a DVD set as a gift. (A gaffe that the media would have found inexcusable under the Bush administration.)

But there are more important issues than that, more issues in fact than the new president is able to handle apparently.

He is surprised at how much work it is to be president. What did he think the job was all about? Did he really think just his presence, or the presence of anyone other than Bush, really was going to make everything okay? He is surprised that he really has to work for a living?

I wrote earlier that there are more important issues than the president’s snub of Gordon Brown, but foreign policy is a pretty damn important issue and while Obama claims that he will reconcile with portions of the Taliban as part of his plan in Afghanistan, and he gives his first television interview as president in the middle east, he also proceeds to alienate our biggest ally in their first meeting. So maybe I was a little too dismissive earlier especially when you see a Washington insider say the following:
A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama’s inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to “even fake an interest in foreign policy”.
We need to cut President Obama a little slack, after all he is tired. While Iran and North Korea are flexing their muscles the president needs some rest, he is too tired to worry about those two countries right now. (They are just little countries anyway, right Mr. President?)
He is tired and overwhelmed and he is not even two months into his term, he better get some rest soon or it is going to be a long four years for him. And us.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown recently visited the White House and was promptly snubbed by the president, who didn’t show him the common decency of holding a press conference which is how important dignitaries are usually treated, outraging the British press. This huge public relations gaffe by the public relations conscious president wasn’t even the worse gaffe that he made while the Prime Minister was visiting.
The two world leaders exchanged gifts. Gordon Brown gave Obama a pen-holder for his desk that was made from the wood of a warship that helped stamp out the slave trade, a hugely symbolic gesture that commemorates the history aspect of Obama’s presidency, meanwhile President Obama gave Gordon Brown a 25 DVD box set of classic American movies that he could have bought at Walmart.
This is not sitting well with the British press because Gordon Brown is blind in one eye and losing the sight in his other eye.
With all of the staff that President Obama has around him you would think that somebody would have done just a little bit of research and found out this little tidbit.
Talk about not doing your homework. This whole event has been an embarrassment to the United States, what should have been a normal meeting between the two allies has turned into a fiasco because President Obama couldn’t be bothered to do a little homework.
President Obama gave a DVD set to a man that is going blind, what a moron. Can you imagine if it had been President Bush who did this?
