Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez implies Nancy Pelosi is racist

July 11, 2019

I guess Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided not to listen to  Nancy Pelosi when the Speaker of the House warned Democrats that family business should be taken care of in private and not on social or mainstream media because the Representative from New York is at it again. This time she is implying that Nancy Pelosi is racist because she is singling out women of color for attack. Here is more:

“When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm’s distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood,” Ocasio-Cortez told The Washington Post. “But the persistent singling out . . . it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful . . . the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.”

For years the left has used this line of attack against the right in an attempt silence the opposition through fear. Instead of it being possible to oppose Barack Obama’s policies for political reasons the left painted it as racism which was leading people to oppose the President. It is much more convenient to blame racism and attack the other side than to admit a policy might not be right.

Now it has become so ingrained in the culture of the young alt-left that they are even turning on their own, the left is reaping what it has sown, and it is fun to watch. Now Nancy Pelosi knows what it is like to be attacked baseless grounds and it could not happen to a better person.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims Nancy Pelosi is making her work to keep her quiet

July 10, 2019

The mainstream media is trying to downplay it but not all is well in the Democratic party. When your whole platform is based on the hatred of one man I believe it eventually spills over into other areas and that is what we are seeing here.

The newer members of the House are at odds with the leadership because they do not believe people like Nancy Pelosi are doing enough to oppose the President, and likewise Nancy Pelosi is trying to reign in the young upstarts.

It has become so bad that today Nancy Pelosi had to have a team meeting to lay the law down about grumbling online. The Speaker of the House has had enough of these youngsters taking to twitter and to the media to air their grievances.

And speaking of grievances, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused Nancy Pelosi of loading her down with work to keep her out of the spotlight. Here is more:

Today in an interview with WNYC’s “New Yorker Hour,” AOC accused Pelosi of intentionally saddling her with work to keep her out of the spotlight.

“I was assigned to some of the busiest committees and four subcommittees,” AOC said. “So my hands are full. And sometimes I wonder if they’re trying to keep me busy.”

She campaigned for this job but it sounds like she thought it would be all face time on television and never dreamed she would actually have to do some hard work. (Relatively speaking of course.)  Imagine the gall of Nancy Pelosi to actually want her to do the job she is getting paid to do! What a nerve!

I guess now we know why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez feels like she already deserves a $4,000 raise after a few months in the Congress…

Elizabeth Warren vows to work towards ending Israel’s ‘occupation’

July 9, 2019

The Democrats have become increasingly anti-Semitic since the election of Donald Trump. You know what? Strike that, I should say the Democrats have become more comfortable in their anti-Semitism since the election. While once the tried to hide it they no longer feel compelled to do so.

This, plus the push to out-left each other in the 2020 campaign could spell bad news for Israel if one of them wins the election. Not to be outdone by the likes of  Ilhan Omar, when asked about Israel’s “occupation”  Elizabeth Warren basically said she would work to end it. Here is more:

An activist from the radical left-wing group IfNotNow named Becca Lubow approached Warren in New Hampshire on Monday after a town hall and asked Warren if she would commit to pushing “the Israeli government to end Occupation.”

Warren answered, “Yes. Yes. So I’m there.”

So for months the left has been claiming Donald Trump cozies up to dictators while pushing our allies away and here we have a legitimate candidate for President of the United States dissing our only true ally in the Middle East while taking the side of terrorists…

Donald Trump creates ‘Commission on Unalienable Rights’

July 8, 2019

According to this story Donald Trump’s State Department has created the “Commission on Unalienable Rights” which is designed to help spread human rights all across the globe. Here is more:

Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo announced today that the U.S. Department of State has created the ‘Commission on Unalienable Rights,’ which is designed to advise the Secretary on “human rights grounded in our nation’s founding principles and the principles of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” said Pompeo.

“The commission is composed of human rights experts, philosophers, and activists, Republicans, Democrats, and Independents of varied background and beliefs, who will provide me with advice on human rights grounded in our nation’s founding principles and the principles of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” said the secretary at the State Department.

“It’s a sad commentary on our times that more than 70 years after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, gross violations continue throughout the world, sometimes even in the name of human rights,” he said.  “[T]he time is right for an informed review of the role of human rights in American foreign policy.”

Secretary Pompeo continued, “I hope that the commission will revisit the most basic of questions: What does it mean to say or claim that something is, in fact, a human right? How do we know or how do we determine whether that claim that this or that is a human right — is it true, and therefore, ought it to be honored? … Is it, in fact, true, as our Declaration of Independence asserts, that as human beings, we – all of us, every member of our human family – are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights?”

Democrats have vowed to resist everything Donald Trump does, but I read echoes of ideas Democrats have been talking about (not doing anything about it, but talking about it) for years so it is hard to imagine they will be able to resist this. If anything this reaffirms their talk about the Constitution and the Declaration being for all people and not only for Americans.

While the Democrats will not be able to oppose this commission outright I predict they will use it to mock the President by claiming only the Trump administration would need a commission to explain what an unalienable right is, and while he is at it he could start in America and put this commission into action at the Southern border where all those alleged human rights violations are occurring.

Christine Pelosi on Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest: ‘some of our faves may be implicated’

July 7, 2019

Over the weekend Jeffrey Epstein was finally arrested on child sex abuse and trafficking charges and if the rumors we have been hearing about for years are true there are quite a few politicians who are probably shaking in their boots.

It is obvious Nancy Pelosi’s daughter Christine has heard the rumors and she put out a very interesting and frankly disturbing tweet. Here it is:

Her use of the term “quite likely” tells us that she has heard the same things we have heard over the years and she would not be surprised to see others that we all know ensnared in this scandal. In fact it seems like a bit of a warning about what is to come.

But to call potential predators “our faves” just because they might be on your side politically is very disturbing; it sure sounds as if she, and we have to assume higher-ups in the government, were willing to overlook this presumed behavior as long as they were getting away with it simply because it was politically advantageous. I would like to know how many others heard the rumors about their “faves” and did nothing.

And the tweet certainly does not show remorse for hearing the rumors and allowing the behavior to continue because of your lack of action, but rather it shows more remorse for the fact some of their “faves” might be in quite a bit of trouble.

It does not usually end well for child molesters in prison, and the prognosis certainly seems worse for an alleged child molester who might have the goods on politicians and would be willing to talk in order to cut down on a prison sentence. I will be shocked if he ever has the chance to spill his guts on all of “our faves.”

Joe Biden claims we should not decriminalize illegal immigration

July 6, 2019

It has become pretty clear that the 625 people who are running for President on the Democratic side of the aisle all have pretty much the same plan to win their party’s nomination and that is to out-left, or perhaps I should say out-crazy the other candidates.

It is normal during the primary season for candidates on both sides of the aisle to move to either side before pivoting back to the center in the general election but the Democrats this time around have taken it to the extreme to the point where they may not be able to come back to the center and sound more reasonable to the more sane people in the country.

This, however, leaves Joe Biden is a strange spot because he not only wants to compete for the alt-left hate-filled votes but he also wants to cash in on his association with Barack Obama and this primary has tilted so far to the left that the former President actually looks like a moderate by comparison.

A perfect example of this is the student loan “crisis” and another is illegal immigration. In the latter case this oh-yeah-I-can-top-that brand of politicking has led incrementally to the candidates all having pledged to abolishing ICE, tearing down what border wall there is, pulling all border agents off of the border, and decriminalizing illegal immigration so that anybody can come into the country unchecked.

Enter Joe Biden trying to walk that line, here is what the man with the glad hands had to say about this subject:

Host Chris Cuomo asked, “You have people who are running close to you now who are saying, decriminalize coming into the country illegally. Do you believe that should be decriminalized?”

Biden responded, “No, I don’t. I think people should have to get in line. But if people are coming because they’re actually seeking asylum, they should have a chance to make their case. I would be surging, as we did, and Barack and I did, surging folks to the border to make those concrete decisions.”

Now that is a more reasoned answer than any of the other candidates have given but reasoned does not play well this time around so the former Vice President had to remind primary votes that this was also Barack Obama’s policy as well.

Of course the voters he is trying to appeal to have turned much more to the left than the country as a whole has and just throwing around Barack Obama’s name is not going to help him. In fact, I would say that these voters will take this statement much the same way they did  when he said he could work with segregationists just a couple of weeks ago.

Reluctant witnesses finally come forward in FISA abuse IG investigation

July 5, 2019

We were expecting Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on alleged FISA abuses to be released in May only to have the report delayed indefinitely and without reason given. We had hoped that between this report, the investigation William Barr ordered into the origin of the Russia investigation, and Donald Trump’s authorizing the declassification of the FISA documents we might finally get to the bottom of this story.

But as of yet the documents have not been declassified and we are left to wonder whatever happened to the Inspector General report. We now might finally have an update on the IG report and if this story is true there are some witnesses who have finally agreed to come forward. Here is more:

Key witnesses sought for questioning by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz early in his investigation into alleged government surveillance abuse have come forward at the 11th hour, Fox News has learned.

Sources familiar with the matter said at least one witness outside the Justice Department and FBI started cooperating — a breakthrough that came after Attorney General William Barr ordered U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead a separate investigation into the origins of the bureau’s 2016 Russia case that laid the foundation for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.

While the investigative phase of the inspector general’s long-running probe is said to be complete, the sources said recent developments required some witnesses to be reinterviewed. And while Barr testified that he expected the report into alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuse to be ready in May or last month, multiple sources said the timeline has slipped.

It had been beyond frustrating to see this investigation disappear without a trace after weeks of hearing its release was imminent but if this is the reason for the delay perhaps the report will be worth the wait.

Donald Trump might use Executive Order to add citizenship question to the census

July 4, 2019

Last week the Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump had the authority to add a citizenship question to the census (and by the way the question was on the census until 2010 when Barack Obama had it removed) but because the court did not like the reason given for adding the question they would not allow it to be added.

This convoluted explanation for not allowing the question despite the court’s acknowledgment of the President’s authority to do so is judicial activism at it best/worst, however it left the administration with little time to better explain itself in time to add the question to the census.

Because of this we learned that the administration was going to leave the question off of the 2020 census and has begun printing it without the question. This was denied by Donald Trump and now we are learning that he is considering using his pen and his phone to add the question to the census using Executive Order. Here is more:

President Trump is considering an executive order to try to move forward with a citizenship question on the 2020 census, top sources tell Jonathan Swan and me.

  • “We didn’t come this far just to throw in the towel,” said a senior administration official with direct knowledge of the conversations.

Administration lawyers are exploring various legal options.

  • A senior legal source said: “The administration is considering the appropriateness of an executive order that would address the constitutional need for the citizenship question to be included in the 2020 census.”
  • A source familiar with some of the administration’s internal deliberations said: “I think that there’s a good argument to be made that even though the president may lose in litigation at the end of the day, going through that process ultimately makes it clear that it’s the chief justice, and not the Executive Branch, that bears responsibility for that unfortunate outcome.”
  • “If the president of the United States were to issue an executive order, supported by his full Article II powers, directing that the citizenship question be included in the 2020 census, I believe the Supreme Court would affirm the constitutional power of the president to include the citizenship question in the census.”

How odd would it be for the Supreme Court to rule the President had the authority to use Executive Action to add the question to the census after denying the President from adding the question by claiming he did not explain himself well enough?

Having defended the President’s authority to add the question to the census and having derided the Supreme Court for its activist decision I have to ask what the point of this whole exercise is and what does the administration think it is going to accomplish by adding the question other than appeasing its base? Is this even a fight worth fighting?

Yes, in theory I understand why Donald Trump wants to add a citizenship to the census, and yes, I do think it makes sense but in reality what is the point? How many people who are here illegally are even going to receive the census? And of those who do receive the census how many are actually going to admit they are not here legally? As for getting a count of how may legal aliens and resident aliens are in the country, shouldn’t the government already know how many are here? Maybe I am just getting too cynical and too jaded but I see diminishing returns on this and I am tired of everything in Washington being done by Executive Order.
