Gun Sales Boom Since Obama’s Election
I have written before about the boom in gun sales since Barack Obama became the president-elect and now we have some numbers. According to this article gun sales are up 42% nationally since Obama won the presidency.
Recent gun sales are up nationally 42 percent. In Illinois, they are up 38 percent; and in Chicago’s suburbs 50 percent.
And the more powerful the gun the harder gun shop owners are having keeping the weapons in stock. Law abiding, second amendment enthusiasts all across the country realize exactly how much contempt Obama has for the second amendment and they are still even a month after the election flocking to the gun dealers.
42% nationally, that is a huge number, it shows you how strongly people feel about Obama’s stance on the second amendment as well as how strongly many Americans still feel about the second amendment. The left’s attempts to make law abiding people feel like criminals for practicing their second amendment rights hasn’t worked. People who make the decision to protect themselves and their families really don’t give a rats ass if linguine spined liberals think that we should be ashamed of ourselves. We are not paranoid, we are prepared.
Needless to say I feel this surge in gun sales is a good thing. The more guns we have in the hands of responsible, law abiding citizens, the more the violent crime rate will fall. Not everyone sees it my way however.
“It’s simply paranoia,” said Thomas Mannard of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence. “And it’s irresponsible, from my point of view, to be touting how wonderful this is. More guns definitely equal more death.”
Don’t you just love the way some on the far left claim that people exercising their rights under the constitution is a bad thing? More guns does not equal more deaths. Fewer guns equal more deaths among law abiding citizens at the hands of violent criminals. More guns equals less deaths among law abiding citizens at the hands of violent criminals. The only group that may see an increase in deaths is violent criminals who attack law abiding, gun toting citizens. Let that be a lesson to them.
President-elect Obama’s stance on the second amendment is radical, people understand that and they are taking precautions against what they assume his policies on guns will be.
Now that I think about it I think it is about time for me to make another trip to the local gun dealer before it is too late.
Robert Byrd Investigating Constitutionality of Hillary Clinton’s Nomination as Secretary of State
As I wrote about in this post, article 1, section 6 of the constitution prohibits Hillary Clinton from becoming secretary of state. Constitutional scholars interviewed in this article agree that the issue is a valid one. This is not just a controversy dreamed up by radical Republicans, it is not part of the reignited vast right wing conspiracy.
Now Democrat senator Robert Byrd’s staff is looking into this issue although he refuses to release a statement. This is what he said when RIchard Nixon found a way to skirt the constitution on this very same issue:
The Constitution was “so clear that it can’t be waived,” Byrd said in a Washington Post story at that time. “In my judgment, the bill itself shouldn’t be passed. We should not delude the American people into thinking a way can be found around the constitutional obstacle
So he has quite a long history with this issue, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Of course he could be going after president-elect Obama’s pick just because of Obama’s color. After all Robert Byrd was grand poobah of the KKK at one time.
Barack Obama to Serve President Bush’s Third Term
President-elect Obama and the left campaigned by linking Rino candidate John McCain to president Bush and calling a McCain presidency more of the same. They also liked to say that John McCain would be serving Bush’s third term. The strategy was, needless to say, extremely successful.
John McCain will not be serving President Bush’s third term but a look at some of the issues reveals that Barack Obama may be ready to serve Bush’s third term.
Taxes/Economy
Candidate Obama promised to end the Bush tax cuts. He also promised to stick it to raise taxes on the rich. He campaigned against the failed Bush economic policy, (you know, the same policy that pulled us out of a recession after 9/11), and promised to “change” the Bush policies.
President-elect Obama has stated that he may have to delay taxing the rich because it is bad for the economy. This is the position that President Bush has held and John McCain also campaigned on. Common sense tells us that taking money away from people in tough economic times, or any time for that matter, will further hurt the economy and now that Obama has become president-elect he has admitted it also.
Iraq
Candidate Obama has had many different positions on Iraq, mostly related to his timetable for defeat. He promised to end the war upon assuming office as well as drawing down troops within two years or 18 months or 13 months or whenever. But the main crux of his position was that we were going to withdraw before victory was achieved.
President-elect Obama has retained Bush Defense secretary Robert Gates and has made inclinations that he would listen to the commanders on the ground in Iraq about troop withdrawals. In other words, continuing President Bush’s plan.
Farm aid
Senator Obama supported the farm aid bill that President Bush vetoed. The president vetoed the bill because it payed subsidies to farmers who did not need them, rich farmers. President Bush wanted to cap subsides to farmers making under $200,000 a year but the Democrats upped the subsidy payouts to those making up to $750,000. The final bill that the Democrats over-rode Bush’s veto on provided subsidies basically to all farmers regardless of their income. Obama did not vote on this bill but released a statement about President Bush and John McCain’s stance on the farm bill that read in part,”saying no to America’s farmers and ranchers, no to energy independence, no to the environment, and no to millions of hungry people.”
As you can see he came out strongly against the president’s position.
President-elect Obama singled out these very same farm subsidies that he applauded as a candidate as nothing but subsidies for the rich and also as a program that has outlived it’s usefulness. It sounds as if Obama has seen the light and now is in agreement with President Bush that we should not be subsidizing rich farmers.
Don’t ask, don’t tell
Candidate Obama promised to repeal the don’t ask, don’t tell policy of the military. This policy was in itself a broken promise of President Clinton who promised to end the ban of gays in the military. This was President Clinton’s idea of a compromise on this issue. Obama claimed that the policy was discriminatory and needed to be repealed.
President-elect Obama has decided to delay his promised repeal of the don’t ask, don’t tell policy for months and possibly years, thus extending President Clinton’s (and President Bush’s) policy for at least another two years.
Domestic spying
I don’t think that I need to remind anyone about candidate Obama’s stance on the president’s wiretapping program that was used to listen to calls originating in the middle east to America that the left dubbed “domestic spying.” He claimed that the wiretapping was illegal, he claimed that the president was listening in on all American’s private phone calls.
President-elect Obama may just keep this same policy in place. According to this article, “Mr. Obama, as president, may be more willing to accept the broadened presidential powers that he once condemned as a candidate, particularly since Congress has approved expanded surveillance powers for the government.”
Illegal Immigration
Candidate Obama and president-elect Obama are the same person when it comes to illegal immigration. So are President Bush and John McCain, no surprises here.
I have just given six examples of how candidate Obama differs from president-elect Obama, and I have to say that president-elect Obama sounds quite a bit like President Bush. At leas ton these six issues.
Yes it appears that President Bush’s third term may be served but it won’t be John McCain serving it. With the exception of the global warming hoax and “national, universal” health-care President Obama looks poised to serve President Bush’s third term. So I ask the far left, “how does it feel to be played for fools?”
As the presidential election drew closer it was fairly evident that it was going to be a horrible night for Republicans. I know that statement isn’t exactly earth shattering, but the bigger question was how horrible of a night would it be.
Having resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama was going to be the next president of the United States and also given the fact that he would be by far the most liberal person ever elected to the office of the president my focus turned to the senate races. It became of the utmost importance that the Republicans hold off enough seats to deny the Democrats a filibuster proof super majority of 60 seats.
Wednesday morning after the election it looked as though the Republicans had held enough seats to stave off the super majority. Ted Stevens held close in Alaska, but his corrupt ass was eventually tossed out of office, Al Franken lost in Minnesota and Saxby Chambliss was able to hold on according to projections in Georgia. Election night wasn’t a total loss after all. Close, but not total.
But then the dominos began to fall and Democrats eeked closer to the tragic number. Ted Stevens lost. (He should have been removed from office or resigned, but at least if he won America’s favorite governor would have been able replace him with another Republican, possibly herself). Al Franken is still involved in a recount, he is scratching and clawing his way into possibly stealing this seat and is now asking the senate to intervene and help him steal it. He will probably be successful. That meant that possibly the only thing stopping the Democrats from gaining the super majority they so longed for was Saxby Chambliss in Georgia. He won the election in November between three candidates but by law a run off election was called for between he and the second place finisher because he did not receive 50% of the vote.
As I write this CNN is projecting Saxby Chambliss as the winner by a large margin. Democrats seem to be denied the blank check that would have been the filibuster proof super majority. Americans can at least let go of their wallets with one hand. Keep the other hand on your wallet, they are still coming after it.
Democrats poured allot of time and money into this race knowing the possible implications that it could have for the future of the country and they failed. This is interesting because unlike the general election in which more than 50% of Georgia voters voted against Chambliss the voters knew the results of the presidential election as well as how many seats the Democrats needed to pick up to win the 60 vote majority.
The questions that I am asking myself are, did the knowledge of Barack Obama’s election influence more Georgia voters to vote for the Republican candidate? And, did the knowledge that this race could possibly give the Democrats a super majority in the senate persuade voters to deny the Democrats the 60 vote majority?
I am sure that the media will not answer these questions, I am sure that these questions were not asked during the exit polls, but if they were I wonder if the results will be reported.
It doesn’t matter though, what is important is that it appears as though the Democrats have been denied their blank check, their super majority.
The choice of Hillary Clinton as secretary of state is unconstitutional. Hillary Rodham Clinton is ineligible to be named as secretary of state according to the constitution.
According to Article 1, Section 6 of the constitution:
No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time.
What does this have to do with the appointment of Hillary Clinton as secretary of state? I am glad that you asked.
On January 4, 2008, President Bush issued Executive Order 13454, which increased the “Emoluments” (salary) of the secretary of state position. Hillary Clinton, as an elected senator from New York at the time and with a current term of office that runs through the end of 2010, would seem to fall clearly within the definition of a “senator” under this clause.
She was a senator when the president raised the salary of the position of secretary of state, this makes her appointment to this position unconstitutional. Pure and simple, cut and dry.
This would not be the first time however that a president has unconstitutionally appointed a senator to a position that they were not eligible for under this article and section of the constitution. The “work-around” that previous presidents have used to skirt around the constitution is to lower the salary back to the rate it was before the increase. This still doesn’t change the constitutionality of the appointment but the precedent has already been set.
Should Obama choose to use this “work-around” he will join a list of previous presidents to use this technique that include President Nixon, President Carter, and President Clinton. Now that is a list to be associated with, huh? A disgraced president who resigned before impeachment, the only elected president to be impeached, and an imbecile.
Harry Reid Says that Washington DC Tourists Stink
Senate majority leader Harry Reid has an interesting take on the new Washington DC tourist center opening up. He won’t have to smell the tourists any more.
“My staff tells me not to say this, but I’m going to say it anyway,” said Reid in his remarks. “In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it’s true.”
The majority of these tourists that Harry Reid thinks are disgusting slobs are Americans. You know, the people that he was hired to represent. Harry Reid has shown us how he really feels about the average American. He is an elitist and a snob.
We have all heard the term “unwashed masses”. We use that term to describe how someone views people that they feel are inferior to themselves. Well it is quite evident now that Harry Reid views Average Americans as the unwashed masses.
Thankfully for him he will now only have to deal with the unwashed masses when he comes up for re-election, hopefully it will be his constituents turn to deal with Harry when that day comes.
Harry Reid is right, something stinks, but the smell isn’t coming from the people.
I am Outraged at President Bush’s Recent Pardons

Last week President Bush pardoned 14 people and commuted the sentences of two others. The offenses of the people who were pardoned ranged from eagle killers to drug dealers to embezzlers. After seeing the list of the people that the president has pardoned I have to say that I am outraged.
I am outraged not because of the people that he pardoned but because of the people he didn’t pardon. Or to be more specific, two people that he didn’t pardon. They would be Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, two border patrol agents who are currently jailed for shooting an illegal alien drug dealer.
The scumbag drug dealer who was in this country illegally was given full immunity and brought back into the country by the Feds for his testimony against these two American heroes who were trying to keep our border secure.
We all know about President Bush’s stand on illegal immigration, much like John McCain, Ted Kennedy, and Barack Obama he is all for it. Let them all come over. His opinion is that there are too many jobs that Americans are too lazy to do so we must bring in cheap, illegal help to fill in the gap. I find this whole notion disgraceful.
Perhaps the president is just being stubborn by letting these men rot in jail for defending our borders because in reality he doesn’t want the borders defended. This is his way of making a statement on the issue of illegal immigration. He may claim that securing the borders is his top priority when it comes to immigration yet two men who were doing just that are rotting away while their wives and children are basically left fatherless. I think that this defines his true position on illegal immigration far better than his hollow words do.
What I find most absurd about this whole thing is the fact that we are fighting the war on terror overseas so that we don’t have to fight them over here, that is what he tells us, yet our borders remain open so that ANYBODY can slip into this country. It makes absolutely no fucking sense. How can this be justified?
Two men who were defending our borders remain in jail, I AM OUTRAGED! I demand that Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean be pardoned by the president before he leaves office. If he truly believes in the security of the country he will do what is right and free these men. If not he is no better than John Kerry, Jack Murtha, Harry Reid, or Nancy Pelosi. Our troops are fighting overseas to defend this nation, the least we could do was to do the same at home.
International Environmental Court to Punish Countries for Crimes Against the Environment
The latest idea being floated around in the global warming arena is an international kangaroo court to punish nations and also private companies for what they will deem are crimes against the environment.
Stephen Hockman QC is proposing a body similar to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to be the supreme legal authority on issues regarding the environment.
The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.
“Its remit will be overall climate change and the need for better regulation of carbon emissions but at the same time the implementation and enforcement of international environmental agreements and instruments.”
Which countries do you think that this new international court will target to levy fines and regulations on? I think that we know the answer to that, the rich ones. This is nothing but an attempt at globalized socialism.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is open to the possibility of selling out his country’s sovereignty to these environment extortionists, let’s hope that President Obama will not also consider handing over ANY jurisdiction to ANY foreign authority, especially for such a blatant and obvious hoax such as this.
I have written time and time again about this scam being nothing but an attempt to steal the personal choices from the people, and to raise the tax burden on the people and now we are seeing the possibility of an international court to crack down on these enviro-crimes.
What further proof do you need? A single, international court that will try countries, AND COMPANIES for high crimes and misdemeanors against the environment, but who decides what one of these “crimes” are?

Automakers Pay 85% of their Wages to non-Workers, and the American Taxpayers are Supposed to Foot the Bill?
When president-elect Obama takes the oath of office in January one of the first things that he is likely to do is to extend the bailout bill into the automakers industry. Regular readers here know how I feel about the whole bailout bill in general and they also know my aversion to extending this disastrous, socialist, nationalizationistic, (yeah I think I just made that word up), government takeover bill to the automobile industry. It sucks.
Why should the American taxpayer bailout private companies who can’t help themselves out? We shouldn’t. But it goes beyond stupid when you look at the expenses that these companies are forced to pay out thanks to the thugs that run the UAW.
According to this story the big three automakers are forced to pay between 85-95% of their wages to people who aren’t even working.

Let’s face it, the big three automakers have no one to blame but themselves for this problem. They are the ones who acquiesced to the will of the union thugs. Now they want us to pay the bill for these dependent. lazy fuckers who have no intention of ever getting a job and becoming a functioning member of society.
It is time for these automakers to declare bankruptcy and reorganize the same way that it has been done in this country for many. many years. It is not time to look for a handout from the government.
But that is not going to happen, we are going to have to foot the bill for these horrible union contracts that the automakers were bullied into signing. The man who may be the most responsible for the financial crisis the country is now in, Barney Frank, is on record as saying that the unions have given enough back already. So instead of the employer and the employee negotiating a new deal that will bring the automakers out of bankruptcy, the American people are going to have to foot the bill under the expansion of the bailout bill.
Once again the American taxpayer gets fucked. I guess I should be used to it by now, but I still can’t accept it.
The World Cools on Global Warming
There have been many stories recently about global warming that deserved my attention here but I just didn’t have the will to bother to write about them. It just seems inevitable that we will be forced to pay higher taxes and fees now that Barack Obama is the president-elect. I have been too disheartened about this issue to write about it.
But it is during these times that it is the most important to write about issues that can be considered vital during the next four years so after what seems like months I will now venture back into an issue that is near and dear to me- the global warming hoax.
As America appears ready to jump headlong into this scam under the next president of the United States it seems as though the rest of the world is cooling to the idea that global warming is a legitimate issue for political discussion. It has long been my belief that the global warming hoax is not a scientific issue but rather a political issue designed to tax and regulate us into subservience.
Every so-called solution to the global warming hoax involves more taxes and more fees. The United States government is poised to create the scam of all scams with this whole notion of carbon credits to offset the carbon footprints made by manufacturers. This scam is not only an attack on the taxpaying American who is just trying to live a normal everyday life it is also an attack on the free market and an attack on capitalism.
It appears as if Europe is awakening to the scam, even as America prepares to lead the world head first into environmental enslavement.
47 per cent, said they were prepared to make personal lifestyle changes to reduce carbon emissions, down from 58 per cent last year.
Only 37 per cent said they were willing to spend “extra time” on the effort, an eight-point drop.
And only one in five respondents – or 20 per cent – said they’d spend extra money to reduce climate change. That’s down from 28 per cent a year ago.
Europeans have seen the light and appear to understand that this is nothing but a scam to subjugate the people by claiming that it is only what is right for the planet. We must do it for the children.
More government regulation and more taxes equal less freedom and that is the true goal of the politicians and their global warming agenda. This is probably the one and only time where I hope that Americans will take a look at Europe and follow in their footsteps. It is time to say no to the global warming hoax.
