Video: New Ties Uncovered Between Barack Obama and William Ayers

Debate Thoughts
It has been a couple of days since the debate between McCain and Obama and I haven’t written anything about it. To be honest I just didn’t think that there was anything from the debate that was interesting enough to write about. However I have dedicated so much of my free time to politics and this blog so I actually started to feel guilty that I hadn’t written about it. So I decided to put in my two cents, not that you will read anything here that you haven’t heard elsewhere but here goes.
I had absolutely no expectations for John McCain going in this debate, and I have no expectations for him in the future debates. I didn’t think that he stood a chance in these debates against Barack Obama. Obama is a much better speaker and is half of John McCain’s age. I thought that this would draw a stark contrast between the two candidates. Especially in the image driven society such as America has become. Style and image is all that matters while substance means very little.
On that front Barack Obama didn’t disappoint, he managed to say nothing but he said it well. On style Barack Obama was the winner hands down. He managed to speak in generalities yet he managed to come across as talking if he was talking about specifics, there is no one smoother when it comes to this technique. The one glaring example of this was when asked where he would cut the budget to make up for the Wall Street bailout. He manages to skirt the issue and couldn’t come up with a single program that he would cut.
John McCain did a hell of allot better than I thought he would. I expected him to come across as bland in his usual debate style. I find him to be a terrible speech giver and expected him to fail against the younger and more vibrant Obama. I thought that he held his own quite well. I thought that you could tell that he had more experience by his answers, he was able to site his accomplishments where Barack Obama spoke only about what he planned to do.
While this debate was in a format that favored Obama it was about a topic that favored McCain. I think the debate was a draw and that is not good news for McCain. John McCain is trailing in the polls and could have used a knock out punch in the debate. He didn’t get it. Barack Obama held his own on the issue of national security and now John McCain must counter in the next debate which is going to be about the economy. An issue that polls show favors Obama.
I Have Bailout Burnout
By now everyone knows how I feel about the bailout, I hate it. But I have to think that there is only one thing more boring than writing about it and watching the news about it and that is actually reading my posts on how I feel about the bailout.
With the possible exception at the conclusion of the bailout deal this will be my last post on the bailout. I have bailout burnout.
Allow me to vent. (Warning it may not be pretty.)
A plea to all involved, JUST FINISH IT. As long as you are going to sell our economic system into socialism in the end, than just finish it. I m sick of hearing about it, I am sick of writing about it, and I am sick reading about it. If this is such an emergency that the free market needs to be sold into socialism than DO IT NOW!
Than we can get on to finishing the transition into socialism. You have already taken over the mortgage industry and there are other industries that you must focus on taking over once you have your greedy little hands on all of our economic system.
Once you have secured the nationalization of America’s economic system it will be time for a government takeover of other industries that are floundering. The next logical step would be for the government to seize and bailout the struggling auto industry and this bill also begins that process.
But why stop there? There is another industry that is in trouble and in need of a seizure and bailout, the airline industry. They have been struggling since 9/11 and it is about time for the government to take them over and form a centralized airline industry.
And then the government can continue on to an industry that they have already threatened to socialize, the oil industry. Government will now have control over the economy and mortgage industry, the automobile and airline industry, and BIG OIL, but wait there’s more.
It doesn’t get any better. Liberals already have control over the mainstream media, television and most newspapers and are able to spread their propaganda, liberals already run the schools and are able to indoctrinate innocent school age children into their socialization mindset.
Then comes the “issue” of global warming and it’s true hidden agenda of taxing and regulating the American people. More taxes, and less freedom through regulations in the name of global warming is just another subtle subjugation of the American people.
And as if the prospect of the left leaning media and schools isn’t scary enough, the last remaining place where conservative talk is still prevalent, talk radio and the blogs, will be shut down with the re-institution of the fairness doctrine. Thus all opposing views will no longer have an outlet to oppose this socialist agenda.
And just in case you were thinking that there may be a revolt, don’t forget that Barack Obama is opposed to the second amendment, no matter what he says now. Forget that revolt.
As the government takes more of our money and gives it to others, as the government restricts our freedoms, and as the government begins to take over more and more of once private companies it make me wonder what the hell is going on in our country. How did we get here?
I am frustrated and I am tired of hearing about this bailout and how it is needed, and then when you hear that if the government ever turns a profit on these loans that the first 20% of the profits will go to community groups like ACORN, a fraudulent and corrupt agency that participates in election fraud year after year, it is enough to drive me crazy. This post is probably proof of that.
I think that I am suffering from BDS, Bailout Derangement Syndrome. This post was meant to be kind of tongue in cheek, and a little sarcastic. I don’t know how it will come across, maybe people will just think that I lost my mind. It doesn’t matter though.
What does matter is that we are reaching a crossroads in this country, a fork in the road. And we have to decide whether we are going to turn left or right. I fear we are going to turn way too far to the left. As the government begins to get involved in matters concerning private companies and citizens we have to ask ourselves, “is this what the founders envisioned?”
New Hampshire’s Upcoming Legislative Agenda
There are a few issues that will be coming up for debate during the next legislative session. Here is a list of a few of them:
- gay marriage
- parental notification for MINORS receiving abortions
- a “study” about the death penalty
- an income tax to fund education
- cell phone ban while driving
It is time for New Hampshire voters to decide which direction we are going to go in. I hope whether you are for or against the upcoming bills that you know where your politicians stand on these issues. That was not the case in 2006 when the state had a massive anti-Bush vote. That vote led to many nanny state laws being passed and caused an uproar by many voters who didn’t realize who they voted into office.
Sadly that uproar has subsided and New Hampshire voters appear poised to do it once again.
Latest New Hampshire Congressional Poll (09/27/08)
With the race for governor a foregone conclusion I turn now to the congressional races for just a little bit of (audacity of) hope.
In my district Jeb Bradley leads moonbat Carol Shea-Porter by a 45%-43% margin with 12% undecided. A very tight race and well within the margin of error. Let’s not forget however that Jeb Bradley had a fairly large lead two years ago all the way up until election day and then lost in a huge upset.
In the second district Paul Hodes maintains a lead over his Republican challenger, Jennifer Horn. by a margin of 38%-26%, however 33% are still undecided. Anything can still happen.
New Hampshire Republicans have a decent chance to pick up one congressional seat, but we still don’t know if Republicans are going to go to the polls this year. Two years ago Republicans stayed home but John McCain is popular here so he may draw them out. This could have a positive effect for John Sununu also as he is in a close race for his senate seat.
Latest New Hampshire Governor Poll (09/27/08)
The latest pollis out in the race for governor and there are no surprises. Governor Lynch leads Joe Kenney (who?) by a margin of 66%-17% with undecided voters at 15%.
What is Joe Kenney’s biggest problem? Nobody knows who the hell he is.
Kenney’s biggest problem might be his statewide name recognition, according to the poll. About 10 percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of him, and 75 percent said they don’t know enough about him to decide.
I have a little advice for Joe Kenny and I am going to spell it out real slow; C-A-M-P-A-I-G-N. You might want to actually get out there and campaign Joe. I don’t remember the last time his name was in the paper, and he hasn’t even run a television ad. Even the tephlon governor is running ads and he is running away with this race. If you were just going to mail it in Joe, you should have just stepped aside. Maybe Frank Guinta would have ran, at least if he did he probably would have actually campaigned.
Thanks for nothing Joe.
Why Won’t Democrats pass the Bailout Bill Without the Republicans?
Democrats have the majority in the house and senate. Democrats also have the votes that they need to pass the Wall Street bailout bill without the support of the house Republicans. If this is as urgent as the president and other politicians are saying than why don’t the Democrats just pass the bill on their own? Why do they need to drag the Republicans in? Why don’t they just do it on their own so that they can get all of the credit?
Perhaps this poll is the reason why. Most Americans are against the president’s bailout bill.
Just 30 percent of Americans say they support Bush’s package, according to an Associated Press-Knowledge Networks poll released as White House and congressional leaders struggled to rescue the plan after House Republicans rebelled against it. Despite the president’s pleas that the package is urgently needed to prevent an economic meltdown, 45 percent say they oppose Bush’s proposal while 25 percent said they are undecided.
Democrats are afraid to “go it alone” on this bill. They see the polls and they know that the American people are against bailing out Wall Street. Yet they are afraid that because they have been a do-nothing congress for the last two years that they will once again be labeled a do-nothing congress on this issue unless they do “something”.
That is where their dilemma lies. They desperately want to appear as though they have done something, but they aren’t willing to risk losing the American people who are against this bill. So they are trying to come up with a bill that will drag the Republicans back towards the bill.
That is because they don’t want to take the blame alone once this bailout is followed by the next one. They don’t want to take the blame alone when this bailout rises well above one trillion dollars. They want to be able to at least say that it was a bipartisan effort, that both parties are to blame for the failure of this bailout.
Democrats could pass this bill if they wanted to, but they don’t want to. If this issue was as urgent as the president, the politicians, and the media wants us to believe than the Democrats would pass this bill without the Republicans. It would be a political goldmine. But they are afraid because this is not a political goldmine and Democrats are afraid to hold a position contrary to the will of the American people alone.
Democrats want to so “something” but they know that this isn’t the “right thing.” They want to drag the Republicans down with them, but the house Republicans aren’t biting.

A Second Haditha Marine to Sue John Murtha
You may remember the comments that Democrat John Murtha made about the Haditha marines while trying to make a statement about the Bush administration. In case you have forgotten he called basically the Haditha marines cold blooded killers and murderers. He made his comments before any of these marines went on trial. So much for innocent until proved guilty.
All of the marines had the cases against them thrown out except for one. They have been cleared of any wrongdoing. Now another one of the marines that Murtha libeled is suing him. There is still another lawsuit from 2006 from a marine who is suing John Murtha.
John Murtha was trying to use the Haditha marines as an example of how much pressure the troops were under because of the failed Iraq war policies of the Bush administration, but this was way over the line. He had so much hatred built up toward the president that he didn’t even realize the horrendous accusations he was making. He didn’t even realize that these troops had not been tried yet. He went on national television and libeled every one of these marines before they had due process. And it turns out now that all but one of them have been exonerated.
I hope he gets what he deserves, he never even bothered to make an apology to these men.
House Republicans Stall the Bailout Bill
From this article:
“There is overwhelming opposition to the original $700 billion Paulson plan among Republicans in Congress,”
Note: the article linked above incorrectly identifies Mike Pence as a Democrat.
That was Rep. Mike Pence. You can read his official statement on the bailout plan here. This plan is being rushed through just so politicians can say that they did something. But just doing something doesn’t mean it is definitely the right thing. House Republicans seem to be the ones who are holding up this deal from going through. These are the same people who stopped the illegal alien amnesty bill that was sponsored by John McCain and Ted Kennedy with President Bush’s approval. Now hopefully they will stick to their guns on this issue and come up with something a little more reasonable than the socialization of our economic system.
Pence continues:
“I oppose the Paulson plan and though I believe it’s important for Congress to act in this situation, nationalizing every bad mortgage in America is not the answer,”
And:
Republicans are working diligently now to develop free-market alternatives and with the kind of government intervention that is short lived and borne by Wall Street,” Pence told CNSNews.com. “That’s what we are going to fight for.”
While most politicians are proclaiming that something has to be done right away or else we are doomed this one group of conservatives are saying that we need to step back, take a deep breath, and relax. We don’t need to find a solution today, the country will not fall apart overnight if we don’t bailout these people right now. This will be the third bailout and after each of the first two we were told that everything was now alright. Yet here we are again, where will it stop?
