Obama Campaign Pressures Television Stations to Stop Airing NRA Ads
Barack Obama’s attack on the freedom of the press and of free speech is in high gear now. Just yesterday I wrote about the truth squads that Obama has employed in Missouri to harass and intimidate people that they feel are producing negative ads. As if that wasn’t enough there is more. Now the Stalinists in Barack Obama’s campaign are trying to convince television stations in Ohio and Pennsylvania to stop airing ads that they don’t like.
This particular ad is by the NRA and it accuses Barack Obama of wanting to ban some guns and tax others. Barack Obama himself filled out a questionnaire in which he stated he was for the ban of all handguns, so he is on record with this position. His campaign still calls the ad misleading and sent a letter to the television station.
“The advertisement knowingly misleads your viewing audience about Senator Obama’s position on the Second Amendment,” wrote Robert Bauer, general counsel to the Obama campaign in a letter dated Sept. 23 to various TV stations in Pennsylvania and Ohio. (See letter)
“For the sake of both FCC licensing requirements and the public interest, your station should refuse to continue to air this advertisement,”
That sure as hell sounds like a threat to me. It sounds like he is threatening to shut them down, which isn’t surprising considering we already know that is he becomes president he wants to re-institute the fairness doctrine.
To recap; Barack Obama is threatening television stations in Ohio and Pennsylvania with possible FCC sanctions, he has mobilized the Missouri police and attorneys to harass people who produce television ads that he doesn’t like, and he wants to silence conservative talk radio and blogs by re-instituting the fairness doctrine.
All of this before he becomes president. How far will he go after he becomes president? We are no longer able to criticize anything that Dear Leader says. He will come after us if we do.
Big Brother is watching.
Obama Campaign Advisor is Responsible for $1 Trillion in Sub Prime Loans
One of Barack Obama’s campaign staffers has quite a connection to Fannie Mae, (actually at least two do, but for this post I am just concentrating on one of them). His name is James Johnson and he was the man responsible for vetting Barack Obama’s VP candidates. Perhaps Obama should have vetted Johnson.
Not only was Jim Johnson responsible for vetting Barack Obama’s VP candidates, he was also responsible for $1 trillion in sub-prime mortgages for Fannie Mae, which helped facilitate the crisis we are now in.
As CEO of Fannie Mae, Johnson set a goal of buying up $1 trillion in low-income mortgage loans, a move that eventually helped trigger what would become the sub-prime mortgage crisis.
Barack Obama has also stated that he wants to do away with golden parachutes but Jim Johnson received a golden parachute of $21 million when he left Fannie Mae. While Obama talks about corporate greed he has no problem welcoming Jim Johnson, who is part of the problem, onto his campaign staff because he thinks it will help him win.
Barack Obama talks a good game but when you juxtapose his rhetoric against his record you find a totally different reality. How can this man claim to be the agent of change when members of his staff are part of the problem?
John McCain has a Few Words of Advice for House Republicans

John McCain must think that he has found the answer to the Wall Street bailout, either that or he just thinks that most Americans are stupid. He had a few words of advice for house Republicans to consider when they come back to negotiate another bailout deal. What profound words did Senator McCain yield?
“The first thing I’d do is say, let’s not call it a bailout, let’s call it a rescue because it is a rescue. It’s a rescue of Main Street America,”
How stupid does he think that we are? He thinks that if they just change the name that American won’t know what is going on. That is arrogance at it’s finest. Maybe the unwashed masses won’t realize that we just changed the name of the bailout, I mean rescue. is that his logic here?
And please stop trying to redirect this argument towards Main Street America. Main Street America didn’t get you or the other perpetrators into this mess, please don’t expect us to get you out.
John McCain’s Bailout Fiasco

John McCain announced last week that he was suspending his campaign to fly to Washington and save the day and the economy. Amid falling poll numbers he took a political gamble designed to hopefully provide him with a bump in the polls. I wrote at the time that I couldn’t decide if this was a good gamble or not. I tried to weigh the possible good and bad of this decision and couldn’t balance the scales, so I took the wait and see attitude. Well now the verdict is in.
So what has happened since that moment that we all remember so well? We remember that John McCain also wanted to delay the debate with Obama. He challenged Obama to suspend his campaign and to agree to postpone the debate. Barack Obama called his bluff, not only did he not suspend his campaign he promised that he would still go to the debate whether John McCain was there or not.
John McCain couldn’t risk the lights and cameras being turned on for the debate and the audience seeing Barack Obama standing there asking “where is John McCain?” The prospect of Obama holding a nationally televised “town hall” event absent of John McCain was something that McCain couldn’t afford. John McCain flinched and flew to Mississippi even though a deal wasn’t close and he promised to stay in Washington until there was a deal.
That was strike one on John McCain.
John McCain gambled that either Barack Obama would flinch and fly to Washington or that a deal would be reached quickly, voted on and passed in time for him to make the debate. The latter would make John McCain look like a leader and a doer. He would be able to take credit for helping to forge some kind of deal. After the Debate McCain flew back to Washington to rescue the deal that had fallen apart. A new deal was forged and voted on in the house where it failed. John McCain’s presence was obviously of no help.
That is strike two on John McCain.
So with the whole bailout in doubt where is John McCain today? On the campaign trail. Breaking his pledge to stay in Washington until a deal is reached. He has unsuspended his campaign during a time in which he said the bailout issue was more important than campaigning. This makes him look desperate and weak.
Strike three.
This gamble looks to have been a major blunder to me from John McCain. Barack Obama called his bluff and McCain folded twice. (Three times if you count the fact that McCain also promised to suspend political ads but never did). It started out looking like he could have hit a home run but in the end it fizzled.
This decision now looks rash and ill thought out. I think it may be the final blow to John McCain presidential aspirations. McCain continues to fall in the polls and any (audacity of) hope that he has left lies in the hands of Sarah Palin and her upcoming debate with Joe Biden.
Barack Obama’s campaign belives that because of their internal polls that Barack Obama may win in a landslide and if the trends continue I believe it could happen.
Maybe John Mcain’s internal polls tell him the same thing and that is why he decided to swing for the fences with this move.

Investigation into the “Stolen Vote” Proves Vote Count was Wrong
This is a story that has vastly been under reported. As I first wrote about last September here, Democrats were accused of “stealing” a vote and defeated a bill with a few shenanigans. The vote passed and Republicans cried foul. This bill provides taxpayer funded benefits for illegal aliens.
It has been a year since this incident but the investigation is over and the final tally of the vote was wrong. Democrats stole the vote after all. The true tally of the vote could not be determined but one thing that we know for sure is that Democrats have shown us that they are not above skirting the rules to push their agenda.
Here is some reaction to the ruling:
House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement that the outcome is “another black eye for this Democrat-led Congress.”
Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.), the ranking Republican on the committee, said the vote “will forever be a black mark on the 110th Congress.”
They are wrong however because nobody even knows that this happened. Those that do just don’t care.
Bailout Fails, Oil Prices Tumble
The bailout failed and the stock market tumbled as a result. But the stock market wasn’t the only thing to tumble when the news broke that the bailout fell through. The price of oil tumbled $10 a barrel because of the fears of a downturn in the economy.
Oil prices tumbled more than $10 a barrel Monday, dropping back below $100 as a U.S. financial bailout failed to win legislative approval, raising fears of a prolonged economic downturn that could drastically erode global energy demand.
Just last week oil shot up $16 a barrel which just seemed to coincide with the notion that the government (you and I) was going to bailout Wall Street.
So while we are hearing that Wall street must be bailed out or else there will be catastrophic results felt on Main Street, the first results are in and I think they are pretty positive. Nobody can tell us what the results will be if we don’t pass a bailout bill. And nobody can tell us what we will actually pay in the end if we do bailout Wall Street. But what we do know right now is that we may pay less for oil if we don’t bail them out.
Just another reason to say to hell with Wall Street. They got themselves into it, they can get themselves out of it.
Obama Sends out “Truth Squads” to Silence Free Speech

Barack Obama is now asking law enforcement in Missouri to target and harass anybody who they feel is running a misleading ad. His campaign is sending out these “truth squads” to threaten and blackmail those who do not agree with Barack Obama’s message, and he has actually recruited law enforcement officials to go along with him.
Barack Obama is now using local law enforcement officials to carry out his campaign of legal intimidation by assembling a group of high-ranking Missouri police officials and prosecutors – including St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce – to identify and target anyone the campaign determines is producing “misleading” political advertisements.
These police state, Big Brother antics are not well received by everybody:
This is an outrageous and shocking attempt by the Obama campaign to again employ Stalinist, police state tactics against those who dare to disagree with Barack Obama,” said Ed Martin, American Issues Projects president. “I am frankly stunned to see public officials like McCullough and Joyce abusing their official prosecutorial positions to serve as attack dogs for a national political campaign. I am quite certain Missourians elected these individuals to enforce the laws and arrest criminals, not to throw people in jail for daring to practicing free speech.
“The Obama campaign continues to provide a chilling preview of what would happen to political freedom in an Obama administration.”
If he has the audacity to carry out this type of activity before he becomes president what the hell will he try to do as president? We know that he doesn’t support the second amendment. We know that he will reinstate the fairness doctrine to finish the job of silencing the opposition.
In case you think I may be overreacting here is the official statement released by the governor of Missouri, Matt Blunt:
“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouricampaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.
“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.
“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.
“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts – not a free society.”
These are truly scary tactics by someone who feels as though nobody should ever disagree with him. This is double un-good.

HOLY SHIT! Both New Hampshire Representatives Voted Against the Bailout Bill
WOW! Both moonbat New Hampshire Representatives, Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes, voted against the bailout bill. This is probably the first time the so-called Pelosi twins have ever voted against Nancy Pelosi. Surely it has to be the first time that they both voted against her will on the same bill.
This is the first time that either of them have voted the way that I wanted them to and for that I would like to say thank you. I would like to but I can’t. Why? Because Nancy Pelosi gave all of the blame credit to house Republicans.
So there must be an ulterior motive. But what could it be? Oh, I know. This bill was mostly written by New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg (who will be getting an email from me voicing my displeasure) and they didn’t want to vote for a bill that had a New Hampshire Republican senator’s name on it. Apparently they forgot that is was Senator John Sununu who is up for re-election this year and not Judd Gregg. Maybe they figured that by casting a non partisan vote that they were actually casting a partisan vote by denying Senator Gregg the recognition that he would have gotten had he brokered this deal.
No matter what their reasoning behind voting against this bill I suppose that because the result was what I anted I should give credit where credit is due. Thank you for voting the right way on this bill, I hope you both continue to vote on the right side of the issues from here on out.
But the only way to be sure that the New Hampshire representatives vote the right way on future bills is to vote these two out of office. They searched in the haystack and found a needle, but that isn’t nearly enough to compensate for all of their other votes being in lock step with the San Fransisco liberal who doesn’t represent New Hampshire values.
House Republicans Kill the Bailout Bill- Thank You

The Wall street bailout bill was killed this morning in the house by a vote of 228-205. Republicans voted against the bill 133-65 while Democrats voted in favor by 140-95. Nancy Pelosi stepped in front of the microphone and said that the Democrats did more than their part and that Republicans deserved all of the blame credit.
Looking at the fact that 95 Democrats voted against this bill also, I am not sure how she can make that claim, but hell if she wants to give the Republicans credit for this, let me be the first to say to the house Republicans-thank you. Who am I to argue?
Some congressmen, including Democrats actually claim that Nancy Pelosi cost themselves votes with her partisan speech before the vote but I am not going to allow her to gain any of the credit in this. The American people are angry about this bill and at least we know there are some left who listen to us. Many politicians were afraid to vote in favor of this bill so close to the election once they gauged the outrage of the voter. If it wasn’t so close to the election it might have been different. But this is the same group of people who stopped the illegal alien amnesty bill so I think we can see where the last of the conservatives reside.
It’s just sad that most voters don’t pay attention to this and are probably going to vote these people out of office.
House Republicans refused to give in to the fear mongering, doom and gloom predictions. They refused to give in to the hysteria and the we have to something right away or everybody is going to die mentality that has been inundated on the American people over the last two weeks.
House Republicans took a step back and realized that to just do something for the sake of doing something might be worse than doing nothing.
So on behalf of Main Street America let me once again say to the house Republicans, thank you for realizing that it wasn’t my responsibility to bail out Wall Street.
